Thank you @stmartinspress for a copy of this book. This is the 3rd book of this series and though can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading them in order to get a sense of all the background of the characters.

This book picks up where the 2nd one left off with Sunshine still in love with Levi and all the shenanigans of the town of Del Sol. Part romance and part mystery, I really enjoyed this story. All the characters are likable and Auri, Sunshine's daughter, is such a fun character that ends up in a lot of scary situations.

The narration of Lorelei King was perfect for this book.

A storyline from the previous two books is wrapped up in this book and it surprised me. I thought the author was going to spin it way out like her last series. I then read this may be the last book in the series which may explain why that personal element is wrapped up (however, there's a new personal mystery that's left unanswered).

I enjoyed this book, perhaps because it's less flip than the others, more straight forward despite there being three separate plotlines, maybe even more with some of the short subplots.

I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I have really enjoyed this series and truly hate saying goodbye to these characters as this is said to be the final installment.

In these pages, you will find suspense, humor, drama and romance. As they say, it has it all.

It was a relief to finally get some answers I’ve been anticipating, and I found the ending to be satisfying.

My thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Not going to lie, Sunshine has a lot on her plate this time around. I mean, there's an injured girl, a old case that should have been investigated (but looks like it was buried instead), Auri's incessant need to put herself into VERY DANGEROUS situations, and Levi. As we all know, Sunny has loved Levi forever, but the world (and his sometimes awful family) keeps getting in the way and keeping them apart.

Well, plus, Levi is very good at going to ground and remaining hidden when he wants to.

Anywho. Sunny is busy. Fortunately, she has a solid group of people who have her back, a secret town council who truly have the town's best interests at heart, and a family who supports her. She also has enemies who aren't above using anything and everything they can get their hands on to hurt Sunny and those she loves.

While Sunny does her best to solve the cases that keep popping up around town, the not-so-great side of Levi's family are making their move. And since Levi is Sunny's special someone (even if they have trouble admitting it to one another), she's not about to let anything happen to him.

More than a few dangerous situations, a whole lot of banter and snark, SMOLDER (you know, just whenever Levi and Sunny are within a mile or two of one another), and a whole lot of closure. I've enjoyed Sunny and her unexpected foray into sheriff-dom with the people of Del Sol. I liked watching old hurts be excised and good things happen as people reconnect. Am I sad to say goodbye? I AM. Am I pleased with how things ended? YES, INDEED!

I have loved everything Darynda has written and this book is no exception. With lots of twists and turns, mystery, suspense, funny banter, and steamy romance I just could not put it down!

My only complaint about this book is that it is the last book in the trillogy and that makes me very sad since I love all the characters and that makes it hard to say goodbye!

If you've read the first two books of course I highly recommend reading this one! If you haven't read the first two books what are you waiting for? Go get them and read them NOW!!
Thank you Darynda Jones, St. Martin’s Press, and NetGalley for an advanced copy to read and review.

Gotta love how clever the writing is. And how packed the story is with mystery. If you think this book is just about the danger involving Levi, you are mistaken. I love this book and the series as a whole. It has humor, it pulls at your heart strings, it makes you desperate. And on another note, OMG the men of this story are little cavemen and a lot swoony. I adore how Cruz is with Auri. He is a kid so I feel like I'm robing the cradle but he has such a mature soul that I don't mind declaring him perfect book boyfriend material. I wish there was a lot more to come of this gang.

What a fantastic third book in the new series by Darynda Jones, a truly talented author. It is an amazing story written with humor and finger biting suspense that kept me reading to the very end of the book. The characters are unique and I love the new main character: Sheriff Sunshine Vicram. Written by a number fan of books by Darynda Jones.

Darynda Jones strikes again. This series is like coming home to your best friends. Fast paced and funny.
I love the interactions between all the characters, the love and the sarcasm, creates the small town that you would love to live in.
I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Spoiler alert if you love Sunshine and Levi, this book is for you.

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read this ARC for free. I am leaving a review willingly.

I love this series and I listened to this eaudiobook. The narrator is great and I laughed out loud many times. I have everyone at my library using “sin cave”. I can’t get enough of the characters in these stories and I will miss them until the next book. I have the first book in the series on my staff picks and recommend it all the time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I devoured this series in about 5 days and if you are a reader of Darynda then you know her series are highly addictive and 5 days is nothing.
We return to the town of Del Sol New Mexico to Sunshine, Auri, Levi, ohh Levi❤️, Quincy and the the gang in the conclusion to the goings on of this crazy town. It picks up where it last left off with Sun giving Levi the truth we as readers had all hoped (and kinda knew) for. The crazy of a classic Darynda story doesn’t stop there though because soon after, Levi is in the wind, a mysterious girl is found barley alive and one of her mom’s book babes is having a crisis…oh and there is an escaped convict on the loose… all in a days work for Sunshine. These books have proven to deliver an equal dose of laughs, romance, cries and heartbreak and that still holds true for this book, the action is a more and to my delight we get MORE LEVI! I think Levi spoke more and longer in this last book than he has overall the last two books….and man he’s still the broody quick tempered fiercely protective guy but add in…love and well, you fall hard…I know I did. Auri took a more front row seat in this last book and was a little frustrating because she kept putting herself in danger, But she is 15 so I get that, kids do stupid shit. I would have liked to see more interaction with her and Levi, don’t get me wrong the amount they had was heartwarming and sweet, but I wanted more of that, as well as more of Cruz. Cruz kinda fell back but that’s understandable giving what he last went through but I still missed his presence. The ending…sigh…this is the first time I will ever say this about a DJ book but it left me lacking and with more questions, which hopefully means this isn’t the end of this series 🤞🏾🤞🏾
To me it felt incomplete, like there should have been one more chapter, or at least an epilogue there where questions that never got answered and things I would have liked tied up…maybe because I read the ARC it wasn’t added in yet 🤷🏾‍♀️I hope so. Overall I loved the series and if they make the ending better it will be 5 stars for me!

I just reviewed A Hard Day for a Hangover by Darynda Jones. #NetGalley I loved this book, it had the perfect mix of mystery, comic relief and intrigue. I can’t decide which character is my favorite, I truly feel a connection with all of them. The witty antics is exactly what I wanted in a book. I would love to see where this story could go.

The plot on this one was a little bit confusing. There were so many pieces to the overall puzzle I had trouble keeping track. I love Sunshine and Ari so much. I love their relationship. They're a bit like Gilmore Girls.

The ending was a bit too fast but less of a cliff hanger than book 2.

This is the third book in this series and I loved it just as much as the others! I love the characters and how they all interact with each other. The banter between Sunshine and her best friend is hilarious! Sunshine's daughter is too smart for her own good. And Sunshine relationship is swoon worthy. Perfect balance of romance, comedy, and suspense/mystery. I really enjoyed this whole series!

Sunshine, Levi and Auri, the family we've all been waiting for. Returning to the gossip and crimes happening in Del Sol is like grabbing a warm blanket and finding an ice cube in it. This is cozy and family centered, whether with Sunshine and her daughter Auri or Sunshine and her family of coworkers at the sheriffs department. But at the same time all these people you love and care about might have danger waiting just around the corner. I love this series! This is my favorite book of the three so far. I want the series to be a zillion books long. Don't we all need to see Auri as an adult working for the FBI. You will laugh, even the chapter headers are a must read. You will want to move to Del Sol, never a boring day.

I was a big fan of the first two books I’m the series. But this one fell short. What seemed cute in the first two books felt tired here. Way too much time was spent describing every aspect of Levi’s physique. (steely buttocks - twice, sculpted mouth, sun-kissed skin, marble hard terrain of his abs, whisky -colored eyes - multiple times). The humor I remember from the first two was in shorter supply here.
This is one series I think you need to read in order. Jones tries to give background, but there are a lot of repeat characters and backstories and I don’t think it’d be easy to pick up as a stand-alone. I’ve read the first two and it still took me a while to get back up to speed.
The book begins with the discovery of a young girl on the side of a mountain. She’s been thrown from a car and left for dead. Soon, Sunshine discovers there have been other young women that have previously gone missing. The bad guy was obvious from early on in the book, and the ending played out as I expected. I’ve heard this is the last book in the series and I think that’s a wise move on Jones’ part. This one has run its course.
Jones starts every chapter with a sign from one of the town’s businesses, a bit of fun she has maintained since the first book. And most bring a true chuckle.
While this might be considered a cozy mystery, I’d consider it much more of a steamy romance mystery. The series would work for fans of the Stephanie Plum series.
My thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for an advance copy of this book.

I expected to enjoy this book. Didn't expect to love it, but I absolutely did. Darynda has done something pretty special here. It was feisty and fun and very sweet.

Few can do group dynamics as well as Darynda; and she is really on her game with this cast. This is a large, lively group who really understand each other, and boy does that shine through. Ever grin until your cheeks hurt? No? A Hard Day for a Hangover will fix that right up.

I had so much fun with these characters. I'm probably supposed to be all ga-ga over What's-his-name. Don't get me wrong; he's cool and all, with those eyes and that smirk (sigh). But I fell arse over teakettle for Quincy, he's just yummy. If he were a real person I'd have to hunt him down. I'd take my chances with Hailey, I could probably hold my own against her. Sunshine would make me regret looking too closely at Levi.

I love the way pieces of the past drop into the present and become part of the active tale. It's an old technique, but I've seldom seen it done as well as Darynda has here. Like a twofer, - past and future drama coming together simultaneously. So much fun.

I thought I knew what shape the story would take, and I was dead nuts wrong. And what a gift that was. Even the parts I expected to annoy made me like the story even more. Frequent perspective changes are usually a hard no for me. And I like Ari, but she came off like Charlie Davidson 2.0 in books one and two. If I wanted to watch a loose cannon shoot off and find trouble I'd go to the source. (No thank you. Once was enough) But Ari has pulled one hell of a maturing act since A Good Day for Chardonnay. And Sha-Zam - now the perspective changes balance the story, and actually add dimension. Heighten tension perfectly! Something I really did not want punched up the story. Whodathunk?

Goodbyes are sad; especially if you aren't ready to let go, but take it from someone who still has not played Bowie's last disk. There are times when the letting go is too painful, but this is not one of those times. If you are waffling over whether to read soon or wait - don't wait. This story is endless entertaining. Besides I have a feeling we will see The Sunshine Crew again. I don't see Darynda setting Sunshine Vicram on the shelf just yet.

I loved every minute I spent with A Hard Day for a Hangover. It was a satisfying read that kept me giggling and made my heart happy. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's for this ARC. I had a great time

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third installment in the Sunshine Vicram series and it is a doozie! A critically injured young woman is found in the mountains where she has apparently been thrown from the edge of the road down a steep hillside. Since she is unconscious there are few clues to her identity or how she came to be found halfway down the side of a mountain. Strangely, she regains consciousness just long enough to implore her initial rescuer not to tell the sheriff about her.

In addition to figuring out the identity of this Jane Doe and her story, Sheriff Sunshine Blaze Vicram is also responsible for keeping her town running smoothly in spite of a burglary at an elderly resident's house, a missing raccoon, the existence of a plot to murder the man she loves, a prison break-out that implicates Sunshine, and having to reveal her daughter's biological father to her. The ending is a fantastic action scene that will have you chewing your nails! Darynda Jones does an outstanding job of weaving many plotlines together to keep the reader's interest throughout the book. I can't wait for the next adventure with Sunshine!

Can't be unbiased. Loved the Charlie Davidson series and Sunshine Vicram is another winner!
Any of Darynda Jones books are fun and keep me reading on into the night. Sheriff Sunny Vicram and her daughter Auri are each investigating missing and beaten young women and more and are also enamored of hunks they know. The action is nonstop as is the fun. No recap or spoilers, just READ IT and enjoy!
I requested and received an EARC from St Martin's Press via NetGalley. Thank you!

Full of action and so many twists and turns. Jones deftly layers this tale with multiple mysteries and emotions.
My favorite part of reading books from a series is getting to know characters and follow them beyond one storyline. I love Sunshine and her precocious teen daughter Auri. The town of Del Sol is a tight knit community with some truly unique members.
There were as many scenes that had me chuckling as there were ones that had me holding my breath in suspense. When I wasn’t reading the book I was thinking about it and wondering what would be happening next-eager to pick up with the story again.
This book was everything I hoped for from the moment I finished book two! Since this is the end of the series, I confess I’m mourning just a little, because I would love more of these character.
A blockbuster worthy conclusion that fans of the series are going to love.
