I didn’t realize this was a part of a series but it was entertaining and a good cozy mystery nonetheless. I think it can be read as a stand alone. It moved at a great pace with several plot lines. Overall, enjoyed it! Also really liked the narrator!
This was the cozy mystery I was craving! Thank you to the author for satisfying it. Very enjoyable!
It is the perfect book to read with cozy socks and a pumpkin spice latte
I couldn’t get into this book for some reason and felt it was very lengthy. I was hooked in the beginning, but then it started getting slow for me. The narrator was great and the characters were entertaining, so I’m not sure why I wasn’t feeling the book.

Thank you Macmillan and @NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!
I loved the Wedding Plot by Paula Munier. The entire Mercy and Elvis Mysteries series is wonderful, and this book is no exception. Once more Mercy finds herself smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation. With the help of Elvis, her brilliant Belgian Malinois, they battle mystery and danger to find the culprit and bring them to justice. A great read!
Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
I didn't realize this was part of a series when I requested it but it read just fine as a standalone. I enjoyed the characters and all the twists as everything unfolds! I will most likely look into reading the others in this series. The narrator was great as well.
I like the characters in this series and the plots. This entry was exceptionally interesting with the impending wedding of Mercy's grandmother, Patience. The twists and turns of the murders and the sub-plots concerning the history of the camp on the property made for an interesting story. The surprise ending, though not quite a surprise was satisfying.
Will the wedding happen or not? The entire family from both sides have gathered and even Elvis and Susie Bear have their roles in helping the function go smoothly. Who doesn't love a wedding and with lots of people there will be lots of confusion. I hope this isn't the last in this short series. I've loved each book!
This book was okay. I think I might have enjoyed this book more if Ihad read the other three in the series first. I enjoyed the narrator.
Book #4 in the Mercy Carr Mystery Series. This one has it all - Mystery, Romance, Suspense and wonderful characters. I was intrigued by the lead character and now I plan to read books 1-3 in this series. Loved the creative style of this new to me author. I can guarantee I will be actively searching for more of her books. Kathleen McInerney is one of my favorite narrators. I know that when I pick up an audio book by Ms. McInerney that I will enjoy myself.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for this advanced review copy. In return, I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
This was a super cute book! I love me a good working animal book and Elvis does NOT disappoint! I now have another series I am adding to my LONG list of series to read. And I now have to go back and read the previous books to this one since I jumped into the middle of the series! This is a fun but not stupid series. I love that Mercy is a strong woman who isn't just seen as a bitch. She is strong but also sensitive to her feelings - a perfect combo.
The Wedding Plot is the fourth Mercy and Elvis Mystery and focuses on Mercy’s grandmother’s wedding. When a body turns up at the wedding site, Mercy and her trustee dog, Elvis, are on the case, uncovering a hidden plot.
This is the first in this series that I have read, so I have no background information, but I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to start this series from the beginning. I really loved this book and would consider it a cross between a thriller mystery and a cozy mystery, which to me is the perfect combination. I found this hard to put down, I kept wanting to see what would come next. I also really enjoyed the characters of Mercy and Troy. I really look forward to seeing what else this series has to hold. This is definitely a book I would recommend to mystery fans!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audiobook version of this book!
This is the first book in this series for me and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mercy is retired from the Army and along with her service dog, Elvis, they are called to help out when the spa's yoga instructor has gone missing just days before her grandmother's destination wedding. While investigating the disappearance, nothing adds up and a dead body is discovered. Did Bodhi, the yoga instructor kill him? Who is Bodhi really. So many twists and turns and wait until the rest of the wedding party and family descend on the venue. Good thing Troy, Mercy's boyfriend, and his dog are there to back her up when needed. This was one wild ride. As stated above, I really enjoyed this one and want to know how I missed the first three in this series! This one was a standalone though.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from Macmillian Audio and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
A lovely narrator accompanying a delightful story. Thrills, mystery, characters full of quirks and charm.
Kathleen McInerney is an excellent narrator for this audio book. She brings the story to life. Mercy and her partner Elvis, a Belgian Malinois, are great main characters in the book. I enjoyed how they work together and how loyal he is to Mercy. Her boyfriend Troy, a Fish and Wildlife Officer, also plays a big role in the book. There were many other secondary characters in the book that added to the story. The main mystery and the side plots moved the story along at a good pace. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can't wait to go back and read the other books in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this audio book from Macmillan Audio through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A destination spa wedding for Patience, with some mystery and murder thrown in. I have read this series from the beginning and I found the addition of so many family members for Patience and an entire family for Claude to be a bit confusing. I think it would be hard to read this as a stand alone.
The idea that Patience and Claude would decide to marry after several decades of having a long distance relationship seemed a bit odd to me. It is not my preference for the action in a mystery to take place away from home base but this was ok since everybody from the series, and then some, was at the location.
The surprise event at at the end was also a bit odd and I wonder if this signals the end of this series. Otherwise it will make for some big changes. Waiting to see.
Kathleen McInerny is always a good narrator and very enjoyable.
Thanks to Netgalley.
3.5⭐
This series features former Army MP Mercy Carr and retired bomb-sniffing Belgian Malinois, Elvis. Her love interest is Vermont Fish and Wildlife Game Warden Troy Warner and his sidekick search and rescue Newfoundland Retriever mix, Susie Bear.
It's June in Vermont and Mercy's grandmother is getting married at the five-star Lady’s Slipper Inn near Eshqua Bog Preserve. Days before the big day, the spa director who is vital to the wedding has gone missing and Mercy is asked by her mother to find him. Mercy and Elvis start looking for Bohdi when Elvis leads her to a body. Mercy ends up with more questions than answers and finds herself in tight situations.
This isn't a cozy mystery, but I enjoyed parts about the goats and creamery which has a cozy feel to it. I find that the story moves at a steady pace with multiple plotlines that drive the story forward. Because I didn't read the first three books, I did have difficulty keeping track of the secondary characters. I think if I had read the books before this one, I would appreciate the development in The Wedding Plot more. That said, it can be read as a standalone, especially if you like working dogs and a small quiet town setting.
The audiobook is excellent. Kathleen McInerney did a wonderful job voicing this relatively huge cast.
Mercy’s beloved grandmother Patience is marrying her long-time beau, Claude in a destination wedding at Lady Slipper Inn. Nothing must interfere with the plans arranged by Mercy’s formidable mother, so when the inn’s yogi/spa director goes missing, Mercy and her retired military K-9 Elvis are sent to find him. Instead, they find an unidentified man, speared with a pitchfork, on the nearby goat farm. As family gathers and old feuds surface, Mercy and Elvis, with the help of game warden Troy and Susie Bear, searches for the killer. The interplay between Mercy’s family brings a lighter feel to this fourth entry in the series. The Vermont settings (an artisan goat-cheese farm, the five-star resort or Eshqua bog) and interesting secondary characters add to this multi-layered mystery. Returning narrator Kathleen McInerney differentiates characters and seamlessly adds Québécois accents. Recommended.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance audio review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
Mercy and her dog Elvis are attending the wedding of Mercy’s grandmother, Patience to her long time boyfriend Claude at the boutique Lady’s Slipper Inn when the inn’s spa coordinator, Bodhi disappears. When Mercy and Elvis are dispatched to find him, they instead find a body impaled on a pitchfork on Bodhi’s farm. When Mercy investigates, she discovers there are plenty of dirty secrets and resentments between the wedding guests. Things go from bad to worse when one of Claude’s groomsmen turns up dead. If Mercy can’t figure out this mystery, till death do us part may come along a lot sooner than anyone has planned. This is a bit lighter than some of Munier’s previous Mercy and Elvis mysteries, but every bit as good
