I did not finish this book. I didn’t like how everything was blamed on the character’s adhd etc. To many people already feel like it holds them back. It might have turned around but it was upsetting me too much to finish.

I adored this novel. While this typically isn't a trope that I like or ever read, I took a chance on it and am so glad I did. I breezed through this book. Before I knew it, it was over. There were so many parts that had me laughing and many t had me swooning. This is a book that I'll be buying a physical copy to have on my shelf!

"Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake" by Mazey Eddings is a delightful and refreshing listen in the world of romantic comedies. This audiobook brings to life the story of Lizzie Blake, a character who is as relatable as she is endearing. Lizzie is known for her knack for making impulsive decisions, which adds a unique and humorous twist to the story.

The plot kicks off with one of Lizzie's spontaneous choices, which sets her on a path of unexpected events and, ultimately, self-discovery. The story is set against the backdrop of vibrant city life, creating a lively and engaging setting. What makes this audiobook stand out is not just the witty and humorous writing style of Mazey Eddings, but also the exceptional narration that brings each character to life with distinct personalities and voices.

Lizzie's journey is filled with ups and downs, and her character development is one of the highlights of the story. She's not your typical protagonist; her flaws and quirks make her more human and relatable. The supporting characters, too, are well-crafted, each adding depth and humor to the narrative.

As for the romance aspect, it's done with a light and charming touch. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and their interactions are filled with both tender and laugh-out-loud moments. The romance doesn't overpower the story but rather complements Lizzie's journey of self-discovery.

Overall, "Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake" is a feel-good listen that’s perfect for those who love a mix of humor, heart, and a bit of romance. It’s a story about embracing life’s unpredictability, the beauty of imperfection, and the journey to finding oneself. Whether you’re a long-time fan of romantic comedies or just looking for a fun and engaging story, this audiobook is definitely worth a listen.

I'll make an exception for this pregnancy trope, because this relationship really worked and the spice was perfect.

I’m usually not a fan in unplanned pregnancy in romance, but the chemistry and the development of their relationship made it work in this book. Even though it brought them together, it wasn’t their entire reason for staying together. This may be my favorite by this author.

I absolutely loved this story. Lizzie is extremely relatable She has ADHD she struggles to keep a job and she meets Rick on a business trip, one thing leads to another, and she ends up pregnant. I didn’t love I didn’t love the voice of rake in the audiobook, but the story overall is definitely a four out of five for me a great read if you love strangers to lovers.

After a two-night stand, American Lizzie ends up accidentally pregnant by Australian Rake. When Lizzie decides to keep the baby, Rake wants to be a part of the child's life - the two end up living in a (large) studio with one bed. They both have hard and fast rules about remaining just friends, but sometimes the biggest mistakes have the best consequences.

I loved this! The audiobook was fine - some reason Rake was narrated in an American accent and spoke in Australian accent and that was weird. I loved the romance enough to ignore this. Mazey Eddings is quickly becoming a must read for me!

After reading A Brush With Love which was a so-so read for me, I didn’t have a lot of expectations for the sequel. I was interested to see how the author would approach adhd. I definitely enjoyed this book more and was impressed with the detail that Lizzie’s adhd is explored compounded with her dysfunctional family dynamics.

Would have been 4/5 for me but the entire launch party/workplace nametag conflict towards the end of the book irritated me so much I dropped a star. It felt forced and like the author was trying to make it an inevitable outcome because of Lizzie’s adhd which I felt was out of Lizzie’s character adhd or not. It was just a ridiculous detour to ramp up the conflict and could have executed better or ditched altogether.

I disagree with those who say that Rake was trying to demonize his ex for having an abortion without telling him. That is a gigantic leap. Read it again he says he respected her decision and Lizzie had already made the choice to proceed with her pregnancy before she even told Rake. He wasn’t pressuring her one way or another, he only wanted to be present every step of the way.

Whether it was realistic that he would upend his life and relocate across the globe to be near to the mother of his child was irrelevant to me and did not diminish my enjoyment of the story. This is fiction, after all. Overall I thought it was a solid story with some excellent education on adhd and I enjoyed the author’s humor. Will probably read the next in the series.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this book! This is my first book from this author and it won’t be my last.

Lizzie who has always and continues to struggle with ADHD, can’t seem to keep a job and continues to make mistakes in her life, but her best mistake was when she unintentionally met Rake, an Aussie on a business trip.

With an unexpected pregnancy in the mix, you can’t help but adore both Lizzie and Rake as they figure out how to navigate their soon to be new life as parents, get only have recently met.

Also, did not expect it to be an open door book. The cover deceives you! 🔥

Read this if:
🤰 You enjoy strangers to lovers trope
🤰 You want to laugh and feel attached to the main characters
🤰 You enjoy books with alternating POVs

This book was full of unexpected moments, laughter and feel good moments. I love how Lizzie and Rake’s relationship starts as a two night stand where both think that will be the end of it. Of course, once Lizzie finds out she’s pregnant the two begin on a journey of sharing space with one another as well as each others feelings. The two characters are apples and oranges but they bring out the best of one another and balance one another perfectly.

One expired condom leads to the best mistake, where the Outback meets America and eventually to Rake ❤️ Lizzie. This story was not only amazing in it’s “suddenly a parent” trope but also in its representation of mental illness and its effects on the person’s daily functionality as well as their relationships with others. This quirky tale was so enjoyable to listen to, and the narrators did a great job in switching from Australian to American accents for the MCs.

Mazey Eddings has quickly become an auto buy author for me after her second book proved her writing continues to shine.

While accidental pregnancy is not a favorite trope of many, I loved that the author turned this into a main plot point vs becoming a “surprise pregnancy trope” with Rake being there to support and experience the pregnancy with Lizzie.

Lizzie could be exhausting at times as a character. But that really highlighted what it can be like living with ADHD which opened my eyes so much. She was written with such bluntness and honesty, hiding none of the ways in which her ADHD often labeled her as too much, too loud, too everything. I adored how Rake accepted Lizzie for who she was and not what the world wanted her to be. These 2 were perfection together.

I loved this one for the chemistry, laughs, and emotion and am eagerly awaiting book 3.

I was lucky enough to receive both an eARC and ALC. Initially I switched back and forth but found I loved listening to the narration best of all. Summer Morton and Will Peters did a fantastic job narrating both POV.

I love Lizzie Blake! Loved the wittiness of this one. Just a good ol' fashioned rom com with a 21st century icon.

This book was a hoot. I like Lizzie. How can you not love an unexpected results from. a two night fling story? Thanks NetGalley for giving me something to make me laugh with this ARC.

First off, I have to say I loved the first book in this series, a Brush with Love. I was really excited to start this one, but I was disappointed after I finished it. Lizzie is nowhere near the heroine that Olive was, and it is really hard to see why anyone would remain friends with her when she constantly flakes out, drops the ball, gives up, etc, and then whines about no one trusting her. This book is truly a disservice to the many high-functioning people that suffer from ADHD.

Really enjoyed this book. I read the book after listening to the first few chapter on audiobook. I wanted to get through it faster than the audiobook allowed.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did such a great job bringing this story to life. This was such a relatable book for me. As an adult diagnosed with ADHD I felt Lizzie's pain at trying so hard to get things right the way other's felt she should and coming up short every time. Rake's patience and enjoyment of her colorful personality allow her to be the person she can be and bloom and grow from a place of love. I found the same in my husband and this book will always have a special place in my heart.
