This book was cute!

I loved how the author was able to convey Lizzie’s ADHD and make the reader able to actually able to understand what’s it’s like living with something so many people live with every single day.

Lizzie and Rake (an Australian accent!) are no doubt going to steal your heart. They both have some baggage from their past and will both struggle understanding their own and each other’s. This is a steamy, messy, heartbreaking/mending story. Don’t skip it!

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for a review.

Oh wow! Mazey Eddings can do no wrong. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could! I just adored Lizzie and Rake! Please give this a chance even if unexpected pregnancy isn’t your favorite trope! It was so masterfully done! I cannot wait to read more books by Mazey Eddings! I really enjoyed the narrators.

This was a fun listen that follows Lizzie, our messy heroine who accidentally gets pregnant and decides to pursue platonic co-parenting with the Aussie father.

Off the bat there is a lot of open-door steam in this one, but I appreciated getting to know Lizzie and Rake throughout. Lizzie is so chaotic, but I loved seeing the ADHD representation and learning more about how she copes with her struggle to focus. I also loved Rake who immediately steps up to take responsibility and his tenderness taking care of Lizzie as they figure things out.

It's a quick and easy listen overall as we see our characters bring out the best in one another. I'd recommend for fans of Tessa Bailey/Rosie Danan.

Thank you Macmillan Audio and St. Martin's Press for my advance copy.

Lizzie’s ADHD seems to cause many mistakes in her life. She does not want anyone to get too close, so she sticks with one-night stands until Rake meets her in a bar and their time together stretches into a weekend. Rake has had trouble with his feelings in the past and when he must go back to Australia, leaving Lizzie is for the best even though she makes his life fun. Much to Lizzie’s surprise, she finds herself pregnant. She calls Rake and his immediate reaction is to come to her and help in any way. He wants to be a part of his child’s life.
This book is so much fun. Full of sexy times together and so many laughs. Lizzie is a baker and when she is stressed, she bakes. It was fun seeing her creativity in the kitchen. I liked the way Lizzie shared her experiences with Rake and how patient he was with her. Rake’s care and concern makes the book endearing. Great book, wonderful characters, and story!

Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings
4.5/5 Stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, A Brush with Love, but book 2 was even better! I really enjoyed Lizzie's character in book 1 and was so glad her story was next. She is relatable and funny and wholly herself. I found myself laughing out loud as well as cringing in second hand embarrassment during some of her bigger mistakes. I highly recommend the audio version of this book. The narrator for Lizzie was perfect and the narrator for Rake was a necessity - trust me, you need to hear his part with an Australian accent.

I can't wait to see more from Mazey! (Hopefully another book in this series!!!)

Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake will be released September 6th, and if it's not already on your tbr, it should be!

What a completely charming romance. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for all the weird looks my husband gave me when I was cracking up while listening to this gem.

Lizzie is a lot of things: creative, exhuberant, lively, loving, sensitive….and she also battles ADHD and soul crushing self doubt.

Rake is in town for business and is Australian….and his name is Rake like from a Julia Quinn novel.

They meet at a bar and hook up….and several weeks later find out they’re expecting.

Their journey takes off from here. And while there are some tough moments, there are truly hilarious ones as well. The characters and their families (biological and chosen) are well developed. I hope there are more novels like this one coming…I really enjoyed it !

This book made me feel so light and happy. The publisher was kind enough to give me a galley of the audiobook and after reading A Brush with Love, I knew that I would like this book. I LOVED the characters in this book. I listened to this in one sitting so it's safe to say that I was hooked.

Lizzie is such a bright and energetic person who is undeniably herself. Her ADHD has been a constant struggle throughout her life but it is also something that makes her who she is today. Rake is your dream guy who happens to be from Australia (and who doesn't love an accent). I loved watching their relationship develop despite the odd circumstances that came about.

Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake was filled with humor, love, lust, and everything you need in a good rom-com. We got the see cameos from characters from her other book which made me happy. Mazey Eddings does such a great job of keeping readers on their toes while telling an amazing story.

"For anyone who's told you you're too loud. Too emotional. Too much. You are the perfect amount of enough." - Mazey Eddings

I read A Brush With Love back in March and I loved it! I was so excited that @smpromance sent me an ARC for the 2nd book - Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake! It was soooo cute!! I'll admit, I don't normally like pregnancy tropes (not a spoiler - it's in the blurb!) BUT THIS WORKED 👏🏼 This is honestly one of my favorites that I've read recently, and I stayed up way too late finishing this one! Both of the main characters were interesting and ikable and I really loved their chemistry and the way they both cared for each other. I also absolutely LOVED the ADHD representation this book had. I don't think I have a read a book that focuses on the main character dealing with ADHD, and how it affects their daily life. Someone close to me has ADHD and I could definitely relate a lot of Lizzie's struggles with their own! This author does a great job dealing with tough topics (I thoroughly enjoyed the anxiety representation in book 1)!

I also had this as an audiobook and it was soooo good! I thought both of the narrator's did a phenomenal job! If you like audiobooks I definitely recommend this one.

Mazes Eddings does it again. She’s my new auto-buy author! Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake was fantastic and covered some real-life issues (pregnancy, ableism, abortion, ADHD, emotional abuse, infidelity, family dynamics) while providing some humor. I could not get enough of Lizzie and Rake. I listened to the audiobook, and I was here Rake’s Australian accent! The two narrators did a great job with his dual POV book. I highly recommend reading this book.

Thank you, St. Martin’s Griffin and Macmillan Audio, for my complimentary copies.

This was a quick listen. It was perfect listen to while working out and running errands. I loved The characters but feel like it wasn’t very realistic. There were holes in character development. I love how independent Lizzie was.

I knew this book would be amazing because I love a surprise pregnancy and Mazey who always adds some heart to her stories

I enjoyed the portrayal of ADHD, and how Lizzy felt and was dealing with it. Knowing that someone thinks differently and processes differently doesn't make them lazy is key.

Rake is Aussie and super understanding and supportive at a time with so much uncertainty.

I just loved everything about it, the characters, the locations, and the drama it was all on point and exactly what is needed for a surprise pregnancy.
The voices that did Lizy and Rake did an awesome job of getting their characters down. The Aussie accent was on point/ bang on
I would recommend anyone listen to this romance

Ok I was expecting to enjoy this one but I didn’t know I would be absolutely in love with it. This was my first book by Mazey and I’m excited to read her other one. This one had humor, heart and real life scenarios handled in real life ways. Also huge STEAM moments. I loved Lizzie and how honest Mazey wrote her character be. The found family aspect stood out and will definitely have me remembering these fun characters that have come together. One I will be telling everyone to read and one I’ll need for my shelf!

Lizzie has adult adhd and it has affected everything about her life. From her family life, to her jobs, and relationships. She never lets people get too close so she had deemed herself the queen of hookups, one and done. While waiting for a hookup date at a bar she meets a hot Australian, Rake, that after one hookup just can not seem to shake. A few weeks later though she will have a reason to see him a lot more.

This is the first book I have read from Mazy Eddings, but I promise it won’t be my last! From the first few lines of this book I was laughing out loud! This book was so much more than just a romcom though- it was such an emotional rollercoaster. I hated how Lizzy’s family treated her for something she could not control. I absolutely adored the way Rake treated and cared for her. The narrators did such a great job telling this story as well. I highly recommend this one.

This is the second book in the A Brush With Love series. I really enjoyed the first book by this author, and was so excited when I saw Lizzie got her own story. I am glad to say I loved this book!

Both characters in this book were so great. Lizzie was loving and chaotic. Rake, our Aussie charm, was the perfect match for her. Both characters are flawed, but so lovable. This book will have you feeling all the emotions while reading it, and you won’t want to put it down. I am usually not a fan of the unexpected pregnancy trope, but the author did a good job with it. I highly recommend checking this book out, when it releases!

This insta-love romance is perfect for fans of Rosie Danan. With beautiful, voice-y writing that entirely pulls you in, I'd recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a romance with an extra helping of spice. People will like this book if they are a fan of/looking for: the unplanned pregnancy romance trope, insta-love, insta-attraction, adhd rep, and a whole lot of steam to their love stories.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced listening copy! I really enjoyed this sweet, steamy, and charming contemporary romance from Mazey Eddings, this being the second book in the Brush with Love series of a group of female friends. Lizzie is a baker in Philadelphia, who just wants a good time with guys to blow off steam from her ADHD and life, when she meets Rake at a bar. But what she thought was a quick fling, turns into a lot more. I really like Eddings' writing style. I think she does a good job blending mental health representation, hard topics, big feelings, all with grace, charm, and comedy. This can be hard to do in my opinion, but I think this author really nails it. Saying that, the main romantic trope in the story is not my favorite (be sure to carefully read the synopsis before reading this book), but I think it worked in this insta-love story (which is also well done and fits with the tone of the book). I enjoyed listening to this book: the two narrators both represented the vibe and tone of the main characters really well. Overall, I highly recommend this book: it’s swoony, funny, thoughtful, and has really poignant moments of self care, self love, and romantic love. I recommend this story for fans of contemporary romance, mental health rep, and romantic comedy.

I LOVED this book. Mazey Eddings is an auto-read author for me now. Everything about Lizzie Blake just made me feel happy and seen. The ADHD rep is amazing. I am absolute trash by the surprise pregnancy trope in books, but even if I wasn’t, she did it so well in this. So don’t let that deter you. It was wonderful. I love Lizzie and Rake and I can’t wait to read Indiras book next!
The narrators were great and they fit the characters well. My only thing is that the male narrator only used an Australian accent when Rake spoke but not for his internal monologue. Kinda weird. The book was great though so I don’t actually care.

Read this if you:
•have ever doubted yourself
•feel like social norms try to dim your light
•have ADHD or want to know more about it

Two-night stand turned her life upside down and now Lizzie finds herself living with her baby daddy platonically who moved across the ocean to help co-parent. This book was great. It shed a lot of light on ADHD and how the brain works. It discussed touchy family relationships. Great rom-com that touches on deep subject matters in a good way.

I am typically not a fan of the pregnancy trope in books. I honestly couldn't care less for it.
So I wasn't really into that part of the book, at all, but I really enjoyed the dynamic between Lizzie and Rake (although a lot of the time I was like "Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake" is a guy named Rake).

The dynamic saved this book for me.
