I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was insightful, deep, and organized, with an almost playful voice. Recommended.

I was hooked from the introduction alone. This book delivers on its promise of numerous ways of examining the complexities, contradictions, potential, and possible origins of consciousness. I particularly loved the Pinball analogy and the various metaphors used to help the reader better understand a variety of complex biological concepts. I recommend this book to anyone who wonders about who we are and what makes us that way. Our perception of reality and why our mind is so fallible yet remarkable. I wanted to read this book start to finish in one sitting, but I’m so glad I took my time. Giving myself a day to ponder on the previous chapter was perfect for really absorbing each new idea.
I was fortunate enough to be given a chance to listen to the audiobook by NG and I wish my review could do justice to how interesting and important this book is. Several of my friends will be receiving copies for the holidays.

The narration of this audiobook was done very well. The narrator does a great job putting energy into their words so that the complex concepts in this book are engaging and thought-provoking. This content of the book was interesting, but I think I would have struggled to read the physical text in the same amount of time it took to get through the audiobook since some of the chapters were a bit dense.

Thanks # netgalley for this book in exchange for an honest review. I listened to the audio book and enjoyed the narration. I probably wouldn't have finished this as quickly if I didn't listen to the audio book. Recommend

Nineteen Ways of Looking at Consciousness is a great book for any science or psychology lover. I liked the essays that each explore what consciousness is and why we have it. It could be a little dense at times, but overall enjoyable.
