Back to the whole fight arena again the families are preparing for a wedding and the others are training of course. Reagan who just won the championship in her class is stopped by Nikolai the man that was wanting revenge in the first book, not stopping to hear him she leaves to get to the gym where Braden is already there and she explains what happened. He takes it upon himself to watch over her which also means having her move into his place. Not that he minds for he has known her since they were kids having grown up together. Now mauve they can finally work out the feelings that they have for one another while dealing with Nikolai and his dirty dealings. A good story.

"Taking the Fight" by L.P. Dover is an action-packed sports romance that delves into the world of mixed martial arts. The book combines steamy romance with adrenaline-fueled fight scenes, catering to fans of both genres. While the chemistry between the main characters is palpable, the plot can be predictable, and the character development feels somewhat lacking. Nevertheless, the author's knowledge of the sport shines through, creating an authentic and engaging reading experience for fans of sports romance.

A complimentary copy was given for honest review and opinion. The intensity of this book was addictive. I could not put it down. Hotness and swooning combined. Absolutely recommend.

I enjoyed the characters and the concept, but I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I was fully caught up on the series. The story could standalone, but it seemed that there was history that I was missing. This made it feel like an insta romance even though the couple has apparently been dancing around each other and hiding their feelings for years. There was a good amount of action that kept the story moving. I personally thought the ending felt too over the top for me.

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This book is second of series "Gloves off: Next Generation" so to completely understand the story you must have read "Craving the Fight".
The story revolves around Reagan and Branden, they have a lot of sexual chemistry going on but Reagan is abstrainig to indulge herself sue to many reasons, at the top being business partners for the gym they run. Branden respects her decision but is continuosly flirts with her incase the ive breaks. But when Nikolai targets Regan and her stubborn self starts to handle it by herself without notifying anyone in her family, Branden refuses to sit still. He is always there lurking in the shaddows to peotect her at any cost. But what if Reagans stubborness puts Branden in danger.
I loved the action throughout the book. The chemistry was sizziling and hot. I read this book in one seating, I couldn't bear to let go of it until the end. The plot twists are incredible. Most of all I loved Branden's Character; respectful, in love, strong and trustworthy.
The only thing I did not like about the book was the the suspense and actions were not enough. There should have been more adverse circumstances to tear at readers heart brcaise that is what is being foreshaddowed through out. All in all the anding was bland and typical. It may be my own preference when it comes to this .
I would 100% recommend teenagers and young adults to read this book. Romance junkies this is a necessity for you .

This book reminded me of the stories that first got me into reading. I loved that it didn’t have any slow parts in it and it was always so exciting you couldn’t put it down! It was a quick and thrilling easy read. I will warn you that once you read this book you will want to get all of the others from the first generation as well and that’s what I plan on doing right now! Thank you so much Netgalley and Xpresso book tours for this ARC!

This story was for me like watching a really bad B movie. The story was nothing special I didn't feel the love for Regan or Braden. A story that will be very soon forgotten.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

I think I need to go back and read the first book in this series because I'm having a hard time following what's happening and what the backstory is-so I'm low rating this until I can come back and reread.

TAKING THE FIGHT is the second installment in the Gloves Off Next Generation series. I don't feel that this one can be read as a stand alone and should be read in the order that the author intended.
I loved the premise of this one but I didn't quite feel the connection to Reagan and Braden that I wanted in order to connect to the story.
Reagan is the featherweight belt holder and with promises of big things she's drawn to the underground fighting life. She thinks she's hiding what she's doing from her family and friends well everyone but Braden. They need to fight together to keep themselves safe and stop fighting the attraction between them. The steam was extra steamy with these two. But it still wasn't enough for me to fall in to this one. I really wanted to love it but I just didn't. Many thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m in love with this series. What a great story! So exciting! I wasn’t sure how it was going to end but I know I can’t wait for more. Who will be next? What will be their hurdle to overcome? How will it involve Nicolai?
5 stars for Braden and Raegan!!!

Second book in the Next Generation Gloves Off series quickly follows book one. This is Reagan and Braden’s book where they turn that frenemies to lovers.

What did I like? So the book heats up when Braden becomes super protective of Reagan when Nikolai reveals Reagan is his next to prey on. It seems simple to just do what Nikolai asks and protect her family but they become embroiled in a nasty nest of vipers. The HEA was nice and this one had a sweet ending!

Would I recommend or buy? Love the cover! I picked this one up based on the series and I enjoyed it. Four huge stars! I don’t have any books by this author on my shelf but I have them on my wish list.

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left this opinion!

I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced and flowed nicely. What's not to like about hot, dirty-talking fighters. The turn of events were done beautifully and the ending was terrific!

Taking the fight

Oh my that’s hot!

In the second book in the Gloves Off Next Generation series we get Braden and Reagan’s story. This book is intense. Power, winning, and so much loyalty it will catch your breath. The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Authors Blurb: Two months ago, everything changed. The enemy no longer feels the need to sulk in the shadows. Instead, he hides in plain sight and prepares his attack… against Reagan Jameson.

Reagan knew this day would come. She proudly holds the featherweight title and is known as one of the sexiest female fighters in MMA history. She can handle her own, and that’s exactly what she plans to do with Nikolai. Unfortunately, things aren’t as they were before. When given an offer she can’t refuse, Reagan is well aware nothing good will come of it.

They promised her power, prestige, and money… a world full of intrigue and dangerous desires. Not being able to resist the allure, she gives in and becomes a pawn in their game. She’s able to fool those closest to her into believing everything is okay… except for Braden Emerson.

Braden’s reputation as one of the toughest fighters in the circuit hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, it’s his skills that get him lured into the pit of danger. While he vows to keep Reagan safe no matter the cost, his desire for her is used against him. As passion ignites between the pair, they must work together if they hope to survive.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

After Carter and Emmas story I’ve been eagerly awaiting the next in this series and this book doesn’t disappoint.

Braden and Reagan are excellent characters with wit, style, the ability to totally kick ass and take names in the ring and a dynamic that enthrals and frustrates in equal measures.

Braden wants Reagan and doesn’t think he’s been all that subtle about it, but Reagan is elusive and thinks that a change in dynamic is risky given they are both in the same group of family/friends and also because she doesn’t think he is serious.

Unfortunately the way he has to prove he is serious is by double dating with her protégé….whilst Reagan reluctantly dates her brother.

Drawn into the underground fighting circuit inadvertently Reagan doesn’t realise what she is doing at first and brings the devil to the door.
Whilst being (over) protected by Braden they finally give in to their feelings and then their relationship progresses at a million miles and hour, whilst they are still trying to extricate themselves from the problem that Nikolai once again presents.

I liked the baddies in this book too and how they interacted with the MC’s. Annika and Finn were both really well characterised.

Few small things for me is that I found the fight scenes really really short (though there were a number of them) and the thing with Finn seemed to just come to a bit of a damp squib at the end (though of course he could be coming back in later books in the series) it just seemed that the scene in the changing room with Reagan happened then bang it was over (literally). There was an odd scene when Finn and Reagan first met and someone wanted a photo with her which seemed a little out of place too, not sure of it was meant as a set up for something I then missed but at the time I though it read strange.

If you are looking for hot romance, dirty fight scenes, death threats and attempted murders then this is the book for you. An entirely enjoyable read

4.5 Stars! I really enjoyed this book! This is the second book in the ‘Gloves Off: Next Generation’ series and can be read as a standalone. The book is told in a duel point of view between the two main characters, Braden and Reagan. They did seem to fall in love pretty fast but I’m sure it was drawn out in book one of the series. The author kept me guessing the whole time about who the bad guys were. This book has plenty of mystery, suspense, brutal fight scenes, hot ‘sexy times’, intrigue, action, dark sexy mafia men and it’s all wrapped up with a HEA ending. Definitely recommend this book.

4.5⭐

The Gloves Off Next Generation are back and ready to face the next threat that comes their way.

As Nikolai may have backed off but that doesn't mean this group of fighters is safe. As there is always someone waiting in the wings to do his bidding and for Reagan and Braden it's a threat they don't see coming.

When Reagan is inadvertently drawn into the underground fights her parents were once involved in, and when Braden finds out just what she's been up to. He's determined to fight for her.

But with an enemy that won't take no for an answer the pair soon realise they're not just fighting for each other but their lives.

And with great characters, a fast-paced storyline and the perfect mix of heat and danger. Taking the Fight was a story I could not put down and one I would happily recommend especially if you love mafia or MMA inspired romances.

I think I made a mistake by not reading the previous parts of the series and my overall experience of this book would probably be completely different. The book wasn't bad, but I didn't feel any connection and chemistry between the main characters, I even found it boring in some parts.

3 stars

4.0/5 🌶️

This was my first MMA romance and I really enjoyed it. I loved Reagan and Braden along with all the supporting characters. At times it felt a little rushed and occasionally I wanted to yell at Reagan for not using her smarts, but overall it was a fun and sexy story.

Braden has been after Reagan for years, but she is afraid to do give in because she doesn't want to hurt their working relationship. Braden loves to rib her and Reagan loves to shut him down. When Nicolai comes back into their lives, Braden needs to protect her and when they finally get some time alone, Reagan lets down her walls. But when Reagan gets caught as a pawn in Nicolai's games, her and Braden must fight for their love, and not getting the win could cost them everything.

I think had I read the first in the series, Reagan and Braden's love may not have felt as rushed, however as a standalone there wasn't a lot of angst to be had there. But I did love their little quips in the beginning and enjoyed when Reagan finally gave in. This was a fairly high steam story with some fun scenes.

I enjoyed the storyline of the fight for love, the fight scenes were great. I really loved the epilogues at the end, seeing the two of them getting their happy ending was really sweet. He is so smitten for her and I love it.

4 Stars for these MMA fighters!

I could tell from the beginning that Reagan and Braden are meant to be together ... even though they didn't. There are a lot of characters because this the second generation of the Gloves Off series. I'm glad there is a chart at the beginning to let you know who is who ... I would have been totally lost without it. I liked that Reagan could take care of herself and even though Braden wanted to protect her. And Braden ... who wouldn't like a hunky MMA fighter wanting to protect them? The chemistry between Reagan and Braden almost melted my iPad ...HOT! A great addition to the series.

Reagan and Braden's mothers are best friends and they always wanted their children to find love with each other. But they have always given each other a wide birth. They are both fighters and plan to take over the gym their fathers own. Reagan agrees to coach Annika a new fighter, but she doesn't know that she is part of the New York mafia. When Annika's brother Finn meets Reagan, he has to have her as his own ... and he always gets what he wants. Because Reagan's brother is away, Braden feels he has to protect Reagan and they become tangled in underground fighting.

I received an early copy courtesy of the author through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
