I am a huge fan of this author and have read a lot of their previous work, so I was honored to get this arc copy to read. After my long book hiatus after having my new baby, this was such a fun book to jump start my reading for the new year!

#BookOnAFeeling:
Thank you @proamnfe and @macmilkan for my gifted copies!
Booked on a Feeling was a fun, feel good romcom for a weekend of reading. I felt like it was a tad bit too long, but regardless it was a breezy read.
We have a friends to lovers trope happening with a bookshop. I mean, I am sat. I really liked Lizzie as a character. I felt for the girl. As someone with anxiety I wish it was discussed a bit more instead of just throwing it in there, but she definitely made me like her more.
Cindy Kay is amazing. I don’t think there’s any dispute with that. Audio is phenomenal and highly highly recommended.
I felt it dragged in places but overall, a solid listen. Out now.

Booked on a Feeling was a cute final book in the series A Sweet Mess. The audiobook was well narrated and I enjoyed the story.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced audiobook version.

Lizzy and Jack have been best friends for ages, but they decided to try dating when Lizzy visits his hometown for a vacation. The chemistry between them is so well-written and the characters really come to life in this story. I really enjoyed reading about Jack's family. It's the third book in a series, which I didn't know when I picked it up, but it totally stands on its own. Though it's obvious that there's backstory for other characters, not having read the other books didn't diminish the story between Lizzy and Jack. There's something special about a book where the characters really analyze their dreams and take skillful action-maybe because I'm trying to do the same thing right now, but I found it inspiring.
Many thanks to St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest feedback.

Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee is a sweet OWN Voices romance. The protagonist Lizzie is an overachieving lawyer with a heavy case of burnout, so she decides to take a break and visit her hometown which just so happens to be where her best friend Jack is. Jack has had a massive crush on Lizzie for a decade and thinks three weeks with her is the best thing but also the most trying thing in the world (he cannot tell her, can he?) Lizzie finds a bookshop that needs a revamp and drags Jack along to help but the more time they spend together the harder it becomes to ignore what could be between them. I enjoyed the characters discovering what they want and figuring out how to go for it even if that means upsetting their families in the process. Besides, how can you go wrong figuring out love whilst playing with books.
Thank you @Netgalley and @JayciLee for the ARC.

I wanted to love this book but it just dragged. I did love the love story it just was too long. Especially when you knew what was coming from chapter 1 (at least I know I did) The characters are super sweet and I loved how the story wrapped everything up perfectly. I just wish it got there quicker.

Did not finish book.
I absolutely loved Lees other books, but I am not a fan of friends to lovers/unrequited love. Dnf-ing this one because it’s not for me.

Loved this book so much! A sweet, slow burn of friends to lovers set in a bookstore.. .what more could a romance reading bibliophile ask for?! The narration for the audiobook was excellent and kept the story moving at a great pace.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

Ugh!!! It's a bookstore rom-com!!! I should love this!! But nope... Not for me! I didn't connect at all with the characters and it just didn't do anything for me.
*Thank you @dresmscape_media for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*

Really enjoyed this book, however, i was not aware it was the third in a series, think i would of liked it better if i had known

When lawyer Lizzy needs a break, she ends up in small town Welden working in a bookstore and hanging out with her childhood friend Jack. Jack has been itching to move away from his family's brewery, but staying home a little longer to be with Lizzy isn't a problem. Will they make it work when Lizzy's break is over?
I love a book about books! I enjoyed this. I loved the first two books in the series a little more - friends-to-lovers is my least favorite trope. Also, talk to each other!

Booked on a Feeling, by Jayci Lee and narrated by Cindy Kay is the third book in the A Sweet Mess, series. Lizzie Chung Esq. is actually where she planned to be in life. Yet this place she worked so hard to get to, doesn’t feel right. She is so out of sorts living this life, that she has a panic attack, before a big meeting and flees LA.. to reevaluate her life. She heads to Weldon, a small California town where she spent he summers. She immediately starts to relax and is able to take a breather. It doesn’t hurt that her best friend Jack Park is there to help and distract her. Lizzie falls into a very peaceful routine. She is unaware that Jack has always been attracted to her and doesn’t want his bookkeeping job, at the families brewery. Both at a cross road, Lizzie and Jack start to spend time in the local Book Shop.. and friendship just may lead to live. If either can be honest and tell the other they want more. Can they find a middle ground? Can they admit their attraction? Can. They be honest with themselves and each other? This is such a sweet RomCom. It was a great listen. Cindy Kay does an excellent job narrating. The author did a great job with the characters and the locations and the honest of friends who want more. I want to thank Netgalley, Dreamscape Media and Jayci Lee for my copy for an honest review. It was a pleasure to listen and review this book. This was a four star read for me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lizzy just won her first big case at a prestigious law firm but she isn't feeling especially thrilled about it. She decides to take a break and go to Weldon to spend time with her best friend Jack and recharge. While there, Lizzy begins to fall for Jack who has been in love with her since the age of 10.
This was a pretty fun read, but at times it felt like Lizzy's anxiety was glossed over. The will they won't they got a bit tedious. I loved that both main characters were minorities though.

auuauguhgh so unbelievably cringe. PUKE PUKE PUKE.
The entire time you're reading this book the characters are absolutely obsessed with each other and there is no moment where they do not have a normal conversation without one of them thinking about how bangable the other is. EVERY SINGLE THING is sexualized, people can just exist without being sex. I'm typically a slow burn person but I just wanted them so badly to just bang and get it over with. HAVE AN ADULT CONVERSATION YOU IDIOTS.

I liked the characters and the Korean family and culture, and I thought parts were cute, such as the slow-kindling romance of the main characters. I felt like this book dragged on, was overly sappy in parts, and just wasn't the book for me by the end.
I think this book could have been shortened and could have left out the character mulling over whether they were friends-to-lovers, like in other romance books she read. And the final ending when his sister went into labor was something that in my opinion could have easily been cut. Just silly fluff that isn't important to the story.

I actually decided not to finish this book. It just wasn’t holding my attention like I hoped. I got aground 60% and was just not invested in the outcome. I can see others liking this title but it just wasn’t for me.

Booked on a Feeling had a lot of promise, books romance, and Asian representation. Sadly it fell flat for me. I had to slog through it to finish it and did a lot of fast-forwarding. But if you enjoy friends to lovers troupe you might enjoy this one.
The Narrator was really good and I enjoyed her voice I didn't enjoy the story.

Thank you Netgalley and Publishers for an advanced listener's copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
**I also received a digital ARC copy of this novel but completed the novel mostly with the ALC**
Three stars for me, is typically middle of the road. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. A plateau of indifference. The couple was cute and there were some parts that were adorable but overall this really didn't hold my attention/really get me invested in the romance at all.
The narration wasn't an issue but I do read at 2.0 or 2.5 times the speed so I'm not sure if that helped or not.
It was fine but I've since read other romance novels that stand more concretely in the 4-star or 5-star range for me. This was just average for me and maybe would've been DNFed had I not had two formats of an advanced copy for it.

Lizzy needs a vacation - yes, she just won her first case as an attorney, but she needs some time off. She rents an apartment above a bookstore and reunites with her best friend, Jack. Jack has always had a thing for her, so now’s his chance.
I took a bit of time between reading and writing this review, and unfortunately it just wasn’t that memorable for me. I liked the connection with the companion books, but I enjoyed those ones much better.
I do love a bookstore setting and the friends to lovers trope, so I still enjoyed reading it - it just didn’t have anything to take it above average for me. The narrator was okay though!
The cover is super cute, and the spice level is deceiving! Expect some on page intimacy with this one.

I love books about books but this one fell a little flat for me. It was ok. I finished it and it was a fun read but unfortunately it was forgettable.
