I read Gilded last year because I heard so much about it, and am so happy that there will be a sequel. This one picks up right where the previous book left off, and is gorgeous and such a tantalizing tease that November seems very far away. Thank you for an advanced copy of this sampler!

What an amazing sampler! I was completely drawn into the world of Cursed. This sampler picks up right where Gilded left off. I loved seeing Gild and Serilda again, as well as the mysterious Erlking. The writing is beautiful and vivid. The wait for November feels long, but I know it will be well worth it! I can't wait to read the full installment. Thank you to Marissa Meyer, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, and Netgalley for a free sampler in exchange for honest feedback.

I borrowed Gilded on a whim earlier this year. At the time I had NO IDEA there was going to be another book. Obviously I found that out when I finished Gilded! I was very excited to see the Sampler for Cursed and enjoyed the sneak peek of what’s to come.

I’ll be impatiently waiting for more!

This sampler made me want the book to come out right away! Despite the fact that I was only able to read the first 6 chapters, I was drawn in within the first few pages. The story line is super intriguing and fast paced. This definitely will not be a disappointing sequel for sure. The main character Serilda, while facing struggles that differ from those many of us face in a non-fantasy world, still manages to be likeable and relatable. The other characters do their jobs well, making me feel emotions towards them despite them only being side characters. Also the world building is very well done. This made me excited for the book release. Thank you to netgalley for providing this sampler.

I cannot wait for the second book in this duology!! I like how each book has started off with a story from Serilda that is going to echo the events in the story. I am VERY interested in seeing how the story is going to progress from just the little bit we were able to read/see in this little sampler. The angst is real and THRIVING in just the little bit that we got & I honestly can't wait!

Thank you to Macmillan and Netgalley for the ARC sampler! I thoroughly enjoyed Gilded (and Marissa Meyer’s writing in general), and I found this sample to be a much-anticipated return to the well-constructed characters and world of the first book. So looking forward to when this book comes out!

Thanks NetGalley for the sample of Cursed. As any Marissa Meyer book, it has the same fantastical elements but with a little more court drama.
Serilda, a mortal girl is trapped as a hostage in the Erklings castle. Being forced to marry him and soon sacrificed after, she must fight against the Dark Ones and help break the curses put on the citizens and forgotten Prince Gild.
From the exerpt I was given, the book jumps straight into the action, answering any questions you might have from the first book while introducing new storylines that are easy to follow. Cant wait to read the rest of it when it comes out!

I have only read the first 6 chapters and I am hooked. I flew through this. As soon as I was I was able to click "read" I flew to my iPad to start this. I fell in love with Gilded and have been anxiously waiting for Cursed to come out ever since. It has been one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it is not disappointing! The writing, worldbuilding, and characters are fantastic and I can not wait to read the rest when it comes out! I highly recommend Gilded and Cursed and any of Marissa Meyer's work in general. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
