Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.
Grace’s life is a mess, she has lost a high powered career as a magazine editor and now works in a florist. She decides to become a surrogate for Marcia and Trevor, expecting no payment in return. As her pregnancy progresses the couple ask her to move in with them in their guest house. This is where things start to go wrong. They appear to be obsessed with her, and then bad things start to happen.
This book has chapters from the past mixed in explaining Grace’s previous life and her reasons for becoming a surrogate.
After a slow start this book had me booked. While Marcia and Trevor weren’t likeable characters they were very real and you could really feel Grace’s discomfort and fear.
An unexpected ending with perhaps a predictable post climax addition!
This is tense, suspenseful and the sort of book that will leave you reading late into the night. Definitely one to pick up for fans of the genre.
Just brilliant. Tense and suspenseful. Packed with twists I didn't see coming. Great writing, realistic characters. Absolutely loved this one.
A good paced thriller. A surrogate to perfect parents or are they. Creepy and atmospheric. A gripping read with some good twists.
This book had me the moment I started reading it. Pulls you into the story right from the start. I will definately read more by this author. A fantastic read.
Suspenseful, absorbing and at times downright creepy, the story grabbed me from the start and had a satisfying ending. The two threads were easy to follow and perfectly executed. I could not put the book down and finished it in a day.

Awesome 4 🌟
Grace agrees to be a surrogate for Marcia and Travis, but there are so many questions about the arrangement as we delve further into the story. There’s a definite feeling of suspense, and that everyone is potentially keeping a secret. But at first I had no idea what these secrets might be. Grace clearly has something from her past that haunts her, and she is giving this amazing gift to this couple for no financial gain. The Thorpes seem to be too good to be true, and as time goes on there are some little signs of something not quite right.
It was not quite clear in the starting of the story about Grace's fear but in the middle of the story the creepy feeling was justified and it was clear yes there's someone or something to fear.
I loved the character of Grace. She's a wonderful charcter with many layers.
Although again ending was abrupt but overall it was a an awesome read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
I really loved this book although yes the beginning did start out slow i none the less still enjoyed following the story ....about halfway through I was so engrossed I couldn't turn the pages fast enough thats when it started getting really good thrilling and with twists and turns all the way up until the last sentence it was great and I will highly recommend
Much thanks to #netgalley and #bookoture for selecting me to read and review this ARC
All thoughts and opinions are my own
This is the first book from this author and certainly didn't disappoint. Marcia and Travis will do anything to have a baby of their own and decide that a surrogate mum will solve all their problems. Grace is the young women that will help them. She has had a lot of recent heartache that she is punishing herself for and feels that by helping someone have a baby she can then have a fresh start herself. This is what she thought only it doesn't pan out that way. Being a surrogate mum to them both isn't as easy as thought it would be and someone isn't happy about the arrangement and soon lets it beknown.
I really enjoyed this book and am hoping their will be another instalment carrying on from where it ended.
This author is a new find for me and I will definitely be seeking out more of her books! This book got my slowly hooked, until I couldn’t put it down and just had to see what was going to happen.

The story begins slowly enough, and the small incidents that are unsettling Grace may or may not be something to worry about. However, as the story unfolds it is clear that the creepy feeling of foreboding that permeates the atmosphere may in fact be justified.
A really cleverly plotted and tense domestic thriller, I found myself completely held in its thrall. I had to keep turning the pages until I came to the dramatic and climactic ending. One that I would highly recommend to any fan of a chilling and engrossing read.
Loved the book! Devoured it within a day!
I enjoyed the complex main character and other characters seemed to be well fleshed out too.
I kept guessing the twist, but it was something I did it quite see coming, which is refreshing.
Comparing to other recent books I’ve just read, this seemed to be quite down to earth and realistic plot, however it by no means was boring! Quite the opposite, as I clearly could not put the book down.
I really appreciated the parcelled out “back story” of the main character and how it has shaped her and her mental health.
Also enjoyed the writing, it reads well and flows nicely.
I’d definitely like to read more books by the author as this was my first one from L. G. Davis.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in return for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book, lots of suspense twists and turns. It reminded me of a TV programme that aired recently. Recommended.
Moving into the home of Marcia and Travis Thorpe seems like a sound decision for Grace, as she has agreed to become a surrogate so that they can fulfill their wish to become parents. This was not an easy decision for Grace to make, especially as she suffered a real tragedy years before. In fact, this book is broken up into the past and present, thus showing how she was forever devastated by a painful loss. Grace is hoping to assuage the guilt she feels from that loss by the actions she is taking now.
Especially considering such a difficult loss proves contrary to her decision to become a surrogate. Grace has to not only bury her pain deeply, but she must stay present enough to give her baby away once it is born. This is further complicated by unusual experiences she us suddenly facing, some of which are terrifying. Meanwhile, Grace is at a crossroad in her life. All she has left is a relationship with best friend Sydney, who has quite a busy life. Feeling completely alone, Grace is forced to deal with the strange relationship she has with the Thorpes. Meanwhile, Grace meets Clayton at a local coffee shop, and this proves to be a true blessing, even if it is unclear to her at the start.
Perfect Parents was a thrill ride from start to finish. This story had some surprising twists and turns, which definitely kept me guessing. It also had some emotional drama, especially as it dealt with infertility and loss, thus bringing in a huge measure of sadness. As this story definitely had its ups and downs I was more than pleased by the conclusion.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This is an addictive domestic thriller that has an added creep factor. There is a past and present timeline done in the form of flashbacks so we learn a lot about Graces past and what has brought her to the present day. I enjoyed the story and the suspense definitely kept me turning the pages. I really liked Grace as a character but found myself liking the other characters one minute and not so much the next. There was some twists and turns along the way and some surprises. Well worth a read and it’s definitely an interesting storyline. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read #PerfectParents
Well the synopsis is enough to have you intrigued but wait until you start reading, you won't be able to stop. This turned out to be a super fast paced thriller full of suspense and some serious dark twists.
The story flicks between past and present tense so we get to know the story behind Grace and her journey to becoming a surrogate. Her character is well developed and she's really likeable.
All the characters are well developed, they have complicated and twisted personalities which really make the story what it is.
A quick whodunnit tale to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The storyline does cover some sensitive topics ie. Miscarriage.

Author: L.G. Davis
Title: Perfect Parents (previously The Surrogates Gift)
# of pages: 238 (via Kobo)
Year of Pub: 2022 (HAPPY PUB DAY 🎉)
At this point I’m no stranger to a L.G. Davis novel and this one is her best so far to me!
The great thing about Liz’s books is that she sends you into a fictional world where not only can you relate to her dimensional characters, she gives you communities that feel real and imagery that is beyond realistic. When it rained I could vividly imagine it and when Grace was at the water I could see it. The writing is always superb!
Davis uses the main character Grace’s pregnancy as a perfect timeline for her story. As the chapters progress and the closer the MC gets to her due date the more things begin to unravel!
🌙 Quick paced with creepy moments throughout, everything a good thriller needs
🌙 I had my suspicions about some things but omg, the REVEAL I did not see coming!
🌙 To all the Chads out there I am sorry, but never trust a Chad!! 🤷🏽♀️😂
🌙 Past and Present day chapters bringing together Grace’s story
🌙 Marigold🐱 that’s it, that’s the highlight.
Davis takes you on a nail-biting, spine chilling journey throughout the pages of this novel.
If you’re looking for a great psychological thriller make sure to check out Perfect Parents and L.G. Davis’ other novels.
Thank you to @bookouture @netgalley and most importantly Liz for yet another great read!

Perfect Parents (previously known as The Surrogate’s Gift) was such a captivating domestic thriller about surrogacy!
We follow our main character, Grace, who decides to be a surrogate for Marcia and Travis, a wealthy couple in Florida on her own volition. She does this without asking for anything in return — this was one of the first things that hooked me! Out of the couple’s generosity, Grace is invited to live in their guest house. There, she was well taken care of — maybe even too much to the point of overbearing at times! Though one can argue that this is understandable, given that too much is on the line from the perspective of expectant parents. We’ll also see that a few flashbacks were added to the novel to add further depth to the character of Grace.
While reading this, I knew that something very bad was bound to happen, and it sure did! I found myself rooting for the baby’s safety, hoping that the baby gets born and grows up in a loving home. But before that can even remotely happen, several events are about to unfold in the present, so sit back and enjoy the ride!
4.5 stars rounded to 5! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Perfect parents by LG Davis.
I'm to give them my baby but can I trust them? Travis and Marcia seem nice. But then they are watching my every move.
A really good read. Twists and turns all the way through. 4*.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. ARC provided by Bookouture.
I gave them my baby, but can I trust them? Giving away my child is the hardest decision I have ever had to make. But when I move into the Thorpes’ stunning home so they can support me through the pregnancy, it seems like they are everything I could have hoped for. They cook me delicious, healthy meals and make sure I’m getting the best medical care. They never question my background, or why I am giving them my child.
Keeping my baby safe and making sure they are going to the perfect family means everything to me. But when a threatening note turns up outside my door and I begin to unravel the Thorpes’ secrets, I realise I may not make it out of here alive. After everything I’ve been through, I’m not going to give up without a fight. And I’ll do anything to keep my baby safe.
This is going to be an unpopular opinion since so many liked the book, but the book fell flat for me. The book is written in first persons POV, which I usually love, but I find it very hard to relate to Grace. The book switches between present and past which gets confusing. The plot also progresses very slowly for my taste. I was expecting a thriller. But the whole book felt sad, This wasn't what I was expecting, though I wasn't sure what I expected, but it was enjoyable and addictive but too far fetched. The ending also wasn't something I was left satisfied. It was too rushed and was trying too hard to tie up some loose ends. The potential was there, but the execution was just off for me at the end.
I was giving away my child to Marcia and Travis Thorpes
But was not long before that Travis hands linger over mine and Marcia was always checking on me
But when a threatening note turns up I realise what is going on
