This is the eleventh book in the Zoe Chambers series. I have not read any of her earlier books but I definitely will after reading this one

Zoe was originally a paramedic and is now the new county coroner. She is called out to a crime scene, a young girl has been raped and murdered. It is similar to a number of murders that happened twenty years ago when Zoe was at high school.

The murders stopped but the case was never solved and with people arriving in town for Zoe's twentieth high school reunion, the memories of those scary days have returned with a vengeance.

Zoe and Peter, her chief of police husband find themselves investigating the case that could bring them face to face with a serial killer.

This is a real page turner. The plot was excellent and the twists took me by surprise.

This is what I would term the US equivalent of the British cosy mystery. In spite of a spate of murders this is a fairly light read, one which is easily read in one sitting. That is not to see that it is not exciting with plenty of suspects and a murderer that left me shocked to the core.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Set in rural southwestern Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, Fatal Reunion is an engaging thriller about a 20th class reunion that refreshes memories of the deaths of three teenage girls but also brings on a new murder and kidnapping. Zoe, the former paramedic and newly named Monongahela County coroner, and her husband, Pete, Vance Township police chief, investigate the recent death of a teenage girl that has similarities to the previous rapes and murders. The story centers on who was in the area, then and now, when both crimes occurred. With a few spoken "yinz"-ers and one mention of Primanti Brothers and several passes on Chartiers Street, there is a little local color in the novel.

I have read a few of the books in this series already but this is the one that I have enjoyed most. It had me hooked from the beginning and I enjoyed the twists and turns that were difficult to predict. I will definitely be reading the rest of the books that are in the series that I haven’t read yet.

Set in small town Western Pennsylvania, this excellent series shows a strong sense of place and characters. Zoe Chambers, originally a paramedic and now the County Coroner for Monongahela County was called to a particularly gruesome crime scene of a young girl raped and murdered. The crime seems reminiscent to a trio of grisly murders that occurred when Zoe was in high school. Coincidentally, or not, the 20th reunion is this very weekend. Well-written. Both the pacing and the characters keep the pages flying by.

Zoe and Pete have their work cut out for them in this 11th installment in her Zoe Chambers series. From juvenile delinquency to murder to cold cases to serial killers to a 20th high school reunion, Zoe has her plate full as Monongahela County's new coroner. She and her husband, Sheriff Pete Adams, must solve the murder of one girl and find a missing girl before she becomes the second victim in recent days; but are these latest crimes the work of a copy cat or those of a serial killer from Zoe's past? The answer to those questions will require a lot of digging, soul searching, and the re-examination of a 20 year old suicide. The characters are genuine. The action is solid, and the story is riveting. After 10 books, Annette Dashofy still manages to make these characters and the storylines fresh and interesting. I hope this series continues for years to come.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this title for my honest review.

I loved this book. Taking my time to read this title instead of devouring it in one sitting I found myself thinking about it and problem solving the murders while I was doing to my day to day tasks. It was always on my mind. The twists and turns kept me on my toes. My only feedback, and I feel like this has been the case with a few thriller titles lately, the ending felt like it wrapped up very quickly.

On a side note. I didn't realize this was part of a series when I originally started reading it but I'll say that it works really well as a standalone title and as series. I did not feel like I was missing something once I realized that it was a series.

This book was a fantastic psychological thriller that I could not leave down until I had finished it. It was such a different story to a lot of books I have read, so many twists and turns and lots of suspense that left you wanting to keep reading after every chapter. The characters were all very intriguing and so well written that you felt you were with them at every point. I would really recommend this book to everybody that loves amazing mystery and thriller books by a fantastic author

This book, this book…..had everything! I really enjoyed the setting of this, the author was able to give such a brilliant description of the area it made it so easy to picture.
The same thought and execution also went into the characters and the plot. The story maintained a good pace and consistency that really carried me along for the ride. And a most entertaining one it was too.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and hopefully this series, in the future.
Thank you to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for my arc.

Wow! What a book! I couldn't read it fast enough. The tension and pace were absolute magic! Brilliantly unsettling, with characters so deftly woven that you never quite know who – if anyone – you can trust.

When a young woman is found murdered in similar circumstances to those of 20 years ago, Zoe and Pete investigate. As they follow old and new leads, questioning the local people. With the 20 year school reunion bringing more people in, will the killer strike again?
Excellent thriller, so many twists as suspects tell their stories, with a nail biting rush to catch the killer. Couldn't put it down, this is a great series!

Fatal reunion will pull you in on page one and keep you reading until the end characters will become friends. There are lot of twists that will keep you guessing or second guessing as to who is the bad guy.

My thoughts: First things first, I loved this book. What I didn’t love was how they introduced all characters big and small with a whole backstory to them. Made it easier for me to guess the ending. That being said, I was in love with Zoe, one of the main characters. She had such an interesting job, had backstory to her, and was just a sensible character. This whole book was a fast paced suspense and I stayed up way too late to finish it. Make sure to pick up your own copy!
