I struggle with presenting, especially with large crowds. I was hoping this book would help with that, and while it is a great book for beginning skills, it was not much help to someone who has been presenting for years. That being said, this would be an excellent resource for someone who is just entering the workforce or college and needs to work on their presentation skills. For others who have been presenting for awhile, this book reinforces skills and techniques we have heard and read previously, but might need a refresher for.

Adding this book to my presentation skills toolkit. I liked the emphasis on the importance of preparing and practicing for speaking events, something I need to do better. There are some valuable nuggets of information, while known by most who read business help guides, are reinforced in this book.

Thank you NetGalley and Kogan Page Ltd for the eARC.

The book lays out a path to help even beginner presenters formulate a structure and content that lead to good presentations and ways for more experience presenters to hone their skills.

The author covers basics on putting your presentation together and offers tips on how to get your mindset ready and overcoming your initial nervousness. His stress on preparation and practice were good reminders but the emphasis and guidance on setting yourself up with a good opening and having a closing that resonates with your audience really stood out for me. The advice on translating your style into your presentations with some caveats was also helpful.

This is a great book if you want to go into public speaking. As a member of the brand toastmasters international this book is very helpful. There is a path on the pathways section called presentation mastery and this book is a great tool for this pathway.
