After their mother's death while cleaning out the house 3 sisters find evidence that their movie star mother could not possibly be their mother. They cannot ask their father about it as he's in a nursing home after a stroke. I enjoyed the writing style and hope to read more by this author.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

A great book full of family secrets that keep your interest from the start. Well written and good characters that you can relate to, if you like family sagas with a bit of intrigue it is definitely worth reading
Beautifully written, with such heart. Not only did it make me smile it made me see the world in a different way. A beautiful and delightful book to read, one I really just wanted to spend my time reading and savoring the experience.
This was such a sweet book that my teeth ached sometimes I found it hard to keep going and I was struggling to get through. I didn’t enjoy this one at all. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
A delight to read - the story kept me interested and involved with the characters throughout the entire book. Reminded me a bit of Nora Roberts’ storytelling.
The Summer Sister is a book in a trio series, however it could be a stand alone novel. This book is about a woman finding out her mother couldnt have children. You follow her journey meeting her birth family and under what circumstances she was born. 5 star read!
Rosalind is one of three sisters. Their mother was a famous film star before her death. As their father has moved into a care home after a stroke the sisters set about clearing the rooms and attics of his house.
They make a devastating discovery which only Rosalind seems bothered about.
She decides to put everything aside to find out the truth about her birth.
I enjoyed this story. Rosalind and her sisters were likeable characters and I was pleased to note that this is part of a trilogy. I will be downloading the next two books to find out more about Rosalind's sisters.
Rosalind's quest for the truth has a few twists and turns and many tears until she finds the peace and happiness that she craves.
An accidental find while sorting through cartons of family memories shocks three sisters. Two sisters deny what could be true. One sister, Rosalind, sets out to discover the truth-who is her real mother. Years of her parent’s secret and a discovery of a name lead her to another family.
This is the story of her journey, of her preconceived notions, and of finding love along the way. It is an intriguing story of how life is not always what it seems to be.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I don't know why more people aren't talking about this book. It was my first chance to read this author and I thoroughly enjoyed her style of writing. I don't want to give anything away but I will just say that it's worth your time!
Three sisters find out a possible secret their mother has kept from them. One of the sisters insists on following up on this secret. What will she find as she digs further? What will she discover?
A good read that kept me engaged.

This story was quite interesting. A deceased movie star, 3 daughters, a father who has had a stroke and a stepmother who knows the family secrets. When the daughters find some paperwork that implies that their mother did not give birth to them, it throws them all for a loop. Rosalind decides to dig deeper an find the truth. Ths causes many hard feelings with quite a few people. It was interesting on how it played out and the ramifiations that followed. I will look for the stores of the other two sisters.
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is a beautifully written story! Jillian Croft was the mother of three beautiful daughters. Or was she? Ten years after her death, the girls find themselves going through her things and discover a secret none of them cold imagine. Their father's recent stroke makes it difficult for them to confront him for the answers they need. Eve and Olivia are content to let it go, but Rosalind can't. So she sets out to find the truth.
What she finds is more than she thought possible. Getting to the bottom of this new mystery was a lot harder than she thought it would be. She not only found the answers she sought, she also found love.
This story is beautifully written and left me longing for more.
