This was such a cute, funny, and enjoyable graphic novel. While there wasn't that much of a plot, it was still a really funny take on all the ghoulish creatures that are myth and we use to tell ghost stories. The graphics were funny and were made in a way that made the creatures look cute rather than scary and intimidating. There were multiple points in this book where I was laughing out loud because the graphics mixed with the dialogue was just hilarious. It wasn't too long of a book either which I really liked since it was much more of a breezy read that way. I would for sure recommend this for a light read that's really funny and is easy to follow along to. Some graphic novels are really difficult to follow along with, but that wasn't the case here. I highly recommend.
Sarah Andersen doesn't miss. Period.
Like Fangs I want almost every panel framed and displayed in my home.
Thank you Netgalley for the arc
This was such a cute collection of comics! I do think it works better in a webtoon form than a full-out book, as I think a lot of the comics were rather short and didn't connect with each other, but hey, I smiled the entire time so I certainly had a fun time regardless. Also very glad the author explained each cryptid briefly, because I did not know what I was missing with the ghost pants comics lmao!

Such a fun, sweet comics collection, perfect for spooky season. What if a bunch of mythical creatures (Bigfoot, Nessie, the Mothman, etc) were friends? What kinds of relatable problems might they have in their day-to-day (or night-to-night) lives? What would it be like to try to find a date? Sarah Andersen's imagination lets us in on the secrets of some of the stars of our favorite fables.
A cute collection perfect for those that are into cryptids and spookiness. It included Slender man, Mothman, Nessie, Chupacabra, aliens, etc. I’m personally not into all that but accompanied with the adorable illustrations, made me smile.

Oh my spooky heart is so full from reading this graphic novel and I can’t wait to pick up a physical copy of this to read whenever I want! I had such a wonderful time taking my time reading each section, enjoying the art, and the little cryptids we get to meet. I think all my spooky lover friends are going to have such a joyous time checking this graphic novel out. And if you’re like me, who’s new to this author’s work, I think this is a great place to start because it certain has me wanting to read more of Andersen’s other books.
Cryptid Club is a bind up of short comics about various cryptids and their unknown life, and why they tend to avoid humans. Some of these cryptids you might be familiar with such as Bigfoot or Mothman, while others aren’t as often addressed or talked about socially. We get to take an inside peek at the struggles these monsters have and while also seeing a lot of cute, humorous moments that will have you giggling in delight.
I really loved so many sections of this bind up. I think my favorite pieces had to be ones featuring Mothman and the Loch Ness Monster. I have a particular soft spot for those cryptids and being able to chuckle to their little moments was such a pleasure. Although, the moments with the ghosts were absolutely precious and just little treat moments. Plus, we have a little ‘release the kraken’ moment and it was so wholesome and precious that my heart was so full. There were so many wonderful moments and delightful moments that I think many readers are going to enjoy and adore.
Overall, this was a really wonderful, cute, and delightful read especially as a cryptid and spooky lover! I can’t recommend this book enough to all my fellow cryptid lovers out there who may be looking for some cryptid goodness with a big dash of joy and humor thrown in. I think there will be some readers out there who may feel this graphic novel is on the more weak side of humor, but I found it had just the right amount and enjoyed my time reading it. And of course, if you’re looking for a book that you can fly through, whether it be for reading goals or readathon, this is sure to be a winner for those and spooky season!
This is a cute and quirky read with a nostalgic nod to all of our favorite monsters and urban legends. With comical quips involving characters from big foot to slender man, this one is sure to put a smile on your face. A quick, fun read for horror lovers.
I'm a big fan of Sarah Andersen's comic collections, and while I do think that this was a bit weak, especially compared to her widely popular Sarah's Scribbles series, it was still a genuinely enjoyable read. Cryptid club features well known monsters such as Bigfoot, Loch Ness monster, Slenderman, ghosts, aliens, and many others in typical social situations, which explain why they usually tend to stay away from humans. Illustrations were simplistic, but mixed with Andersen's signature humor, they provide a funny read that shines a light on the unknown side of these's monsters daily life. It was cute, but I still felt like something was missing. However, whatever it was, I was reminded why I appreciate Sarah's work and why I always look forward to her new collection.

I love this set of comics. It is fun and the art is great. Good for fans of cryptids are those who have heard of cryptics.
Never knew I loved Moth Man so much.
A cute compendium of Cryptid curiosities from the creator of Sarah's Scribbles herself.
(Try saying that 5x fast.)
Cryptid club presents a paranormal rat pack with familiar faces like big foot and nessie, alongside more recent creatures that go 'bump' in the night such as mothman and slenderman. In this universe our favorite Cryptids all know one another and share triumphs and woes in this 100-odd page of single-page comics.
Great for a laugh or the supernatural fan in your life.
I would have liked to see more comics in this volume, but I will keep my eyes peeled for a sequel.

Absolutely loved this easy and fun read! If you love cryptids like I do, you will thoroughly enjoy the author’s wit and humor.
This is a book that I would read over and over (probably takes less than 30 minutes to read all the way through). It’s a graphic novel/ comic strip style book.

Cryptid Club is full of spooky fun comics from Sarah Andersen.
These comics are hilarious, and I was laughing out loud! So excited this is being published.
This is a super funny and cute collection of comics. The art is simple, yet adorable. The stories are funny, but full of heart. It's lighthearted, despite being full of lots of fear-inducing cryptids. I love the contrast that this comic collection uses. I'd absolutely recommend this book to fans of Saturday newspaper cartoons, webcomics, and horror folklore lovers who have a sense of humor. Cryptid Club is an absolute delight.
This is so cute! I loved the colors and the illustrations of the cryptids in here. I loved their interactions with one another and their jokes. This book made me cackle a bit and I really enjoyed reading this one so much. My favorite will be the Siren x Siren date, the Catfish one, the reason why aliens steal cows, and many more! This is just a fun, cozy, and fast read for me and I highly recommend!
Seeing these mysterious and elusive creatures in ordinary circumstances was so funny. Cryptid Club was laugh-out-loud funny to the point where I had to stop and show my partner what I was chuckling over. Who knew Cryptids were so much like us? The illustrations were so cute and are bound to leave everyone who reads it in a good mood.
My all-time favorite cryptid is Mothman. Which one is your favorite?
Thank you, Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing, for the DRC!
For fans of the creepy and spooky, but maybe not the scary - Cryptid Club shares little vignettes into the lives of our favorite cryptids like Nessie, the Kraken and Bigfoot. I almost wish there was a little more story because I wanna know more about them! There's a little character list at the end which might be better suited towards the beginning for those of us unfamiliar with the cryptids of West Virginia. Overall, cute art style and clever concepts.
How adorable is this?! The character shapes and expressions are cuddly but the colors are dark, giving a nice balance that matches the content.
Individual comic stories are typically 2 to 4 cells. Each perfectly captures a tiny story, usually involving a twist or pun. They rely heavily on the illustrations to deliver the punchline; there is some dialogue, but no narration, and many cells are text-free.
Perfect for paranormal and/or GN readers. eARC from NetGalley.
Who knew cryptids are so relatable? Honestly so precious and clever. Nessie's expressions were too much-in the best way possible. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a silly, spooky read or just needs a laugh. I ripped through this in under half an hour.
I wish I could be the honorary human of the Cryptid Club. A hilariously delightful book featuring comics of cryptids enjoying their very misunderstood lives. Comic genius Sarah Anderson delivers again!
I wasn't sure how relatable cryptids could be, but Sarah Andersen managed it all while managing to make what is normally creepy look cute. I've seen a number of these comics shared around social media, but this volume collects them in a nice volume ideal for gifting to the special cryptid in your life. (I received a free ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.)
