Another great collection of comics from Sarah Anderson! I can’t wait for her to publish her next one.

This collection is cute and charming. The cryptids are really given personality and many of the comics cleverly play on the myths surrounding these cryptids. It was a fast and fun read that I think people of all ages would like (except a single cartoon referencing "butt stuff," which might make it inappropriate for younger readers who otherwise would enjoy this book).

I'm here for anything cryptids and comics this was a match made in a cute, cosy Cthulian horrorscape (AKA I had high hopes after how much I adored Fangs and safe to say that Sarah Anderson strikes again) 🖤

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing for kindly passing on this ARC! 💫

This is literally the cutest thing I've ever read. I've definitely seen some of the individual comics on Twitter, and I'm very happy to have all of them in one place.

Each cryptid has their own stunning personality and seeing them all interact with each are so cute. Big, big fan of how this turned out.

So I'd seen most of these comics before on tumblr, which made the experience of reading the book underwhelming. Moreover, I think these comics work better in a web comic format than they do as a book, especially since there is no cohesive narrative being built. That said, I do think they are really nice and adorable - I especially adore the coloring by Céli Godfried.

I freaking loved this so much! I loved the mothman ones the most! Plus Nessie and Sam's friendship was sooooo cute!

I want to thank Netgalley for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's been a long time since I loved a graphic novel so completely. I couldn't stop smiling and I found myself laughing out loud many many times. The Cryptid Club is right up my alley, and so many others will love it too.

The perfect coffee table book, The Cryptid Club will start interesting conversations and nearly everyone will relate to the strange creatures inside as they experience human problems and emotions. It's cute and endearing while being light and fun.

I have been a fan of this illustrator for a long time and this little collection of all your favourite creatures that go bump in the night doesn’t disappoint me. I love the play of humour and dark that comes together to bring these creatures to life. The friendships/relationships between them warms my heart and makes me giggle at their silliness. I appreciate the credits of the characters at the end with a little blurb on each of them so even if you didn’t know about them you will at the end. The style of illustrations might be simple but it’s a style that is unique to this artist. It’s cute and if you enjoy this type of spooky then don’t skip on this one. Would make a good coffee table book for people to creep at.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

Immediately, I loved the illustrations. Which was quickly followed by the hilarious writing and how you can tell all of the cryptids were either anxious and/or nervous creatures.

It was such a quick, funny, and cute book that I absolutely adore.

My thanks to both NetGalley and the publisher Andrews & McNeel Publishing for an advance copy of this new collection of web comics.

Creatures that go bump in the night, or come from other planets, are a lot like us. They dislike get togethers, they say the wrong things to people they like, scare the wrong people, and like to kidnap strangers and take them for rides in their space ship. As cute as they are they can be a little creepy, and can get easily creeped out by any attention they get. Award-winning and bestselling author/ illustrator Sarah Andersen gives us a peek into the lives of cryptids in her latest collection of web comics Cryptid Club, a fun look at life on the fringe.

Cryptids are creatures that are believed to exist, but are so smart they make it impossible for people to prove their existence. Pictures are blurry, Slenderman stands in a corner, Sirenhead is on Tinder looking for others to make noise with. And the aliens are just jerks. The life of a cryptid is spent either avoiding people, or trying to get on with life which is again mostly avoiding people.

The stories are funny and are told pretty much on one page, so a reader can just pick the book up and not feel that they are missing the big picture. Some are funny, most are cute, but the artwork is steady throughout, a slightly cartooney style, but well rendered and each creature does have a strong look. The book has a glossary again with pictures and a brief biographical sketch, easy enough to read for people new to this world, and yet informative enough for veteran creature buffs. Except for a story or two, this is pretty much an all ages story, the jokes and puns might be a little much, but the physical humor will hold young readers, and the jokes will make older readers laugh.

A very fun collection of cartoons about bogey-persons and their lives. Again this is probably good for all ages, but a passing knowledge of creatures would be good. Perfect for the X- Files fan or for fans of The Last Podcast on the Left podcast. This would be right up any fans of these alley.

Thank you Netgalley and Publishers for an advanced copy of this graphic novel collection in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this completely blind without taking a thorough look at the synopsis and I did enjoy it for what it was. At times the jokes were more humorous than others, but I read this in one sitting so I do recommend for anyone wanting something quick and light-hearted to read.

I can't rate it higher because it's not extraordinary and since each story is a page long to be strung together in a bigger message/theme, I wished we had explored some of the storylines/jokes a little more.

The art of this graphic novel is so fun and playful, and I greatly appreciate the glossary at the end.

The perfect mix of cute and spooky! Adorable illustrations and short, digestible comics that would appeal to a wide range of readers - you've probably already seen her comics shared on social media since they're so popular and well-loved. I adored 'Fangs' by Sarah Andersen and this follows a similar format that's easy to pick up and enjoy in one sitting. Excited to check out the rest of her work!

Cryptid Club by Sarah Anderson is a comics collection featuring several well known cryptids and monsters. It’s short, sweet and funny. My favourite ones were where these cryptid’s were dealing with their own anxieties because MONSTERS THEY’RE JUST LIKE US THEY GET ANXIOUS TOO!! I do wish it went a little bit deeper with some of them but it was still relatable.

More cute than creepy I think anyone could get some enjoyment out of this even if you’re not the weirdo who during a elementary school class trip to the beach was calling out for the kraken instead of making sandcastles (Me. I’m that weirdo).

Sarah Andersen SEES ME. And the fact that she also sees cryptids means that we should be best friends (or that I'm a cryptid, which, honestly, I think would improve my chances with her).

Some of the jokes are meh but most are forgettable. At least she's moved on from cat jokes and those awful dad jokes about Twilight, but these are still unremarkable strips that barely get a chuckle. I'm sure her fans will love it regardless because this kind of easy humour plays well with the internet crowd but I was unimpressed with this one like I have been with her books for a while now.

Her cartoons are so cute. This is a divergence from Sarah Scribbles, but I loved it. I know a good friend who loves Cryptids who will love this book!

*releases sept. 20th! so get preorders in now!*

love love LOVED this!!!! totally got me in the mood for spooky season. i think every single character was so well thought out and their characterization and personalities really shined through. i had to google some of the cryptids because i had never heard of them so i really learned something here as well!

this book had me laughing out loud so much more than i anticipated which was such a pleasant surprise. it was overall SUPER cute while still retaining that creepy element to it.

most, if not all, of this book is also available on webtoons so make sure to check it out there as well and support the author: https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/cryptid-club/list?title_no=686603&page=1

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are, as always, my very own.

I’ve yet to come across a Sarah Anderson project that I haven’t loved - so if you have enjoyed Sarah’s previous work… you are in for a treat!
Or if you’ve ever thought this is good but what if it is was in colour and contained (deeply relatable) cryptids instead of (deeply relatable) millennials - brace yourself!
