So cute and easy to read! A bunch of comics about various cryptids. The drawings are so cute and I love the idea of them all being friends! My favorite was Bigfoot was social anxiety. So, so cute!
This is an adorable collection of comics about Cryptids. The art is fun and the cryptid styles are great.

I will read anything Sarah Andersen might write and I'm sure that I will like it such as this book which gave me so much fun while reading it. I laughed and it made me feel good and I might re-read it a second time just because it was so much enjoyable to read.
Please, keep creating this kind of books because they just made my day/night. Thanks.
Everyone has social anxiety. Even your sleep paralysis demon! A series of little 4-panel comics about the trials of being a cryptic. Bigfoot can never take a good picture. Mothman only appears before disasters...so stop cutting your bangs! No one remembers Cthulhu's name. The Fresno Nightcrawlers...actually, they're doing great. Check out those sweet calves!
Not a single miss in this book. Nothing feels to obvious in setup, and then you get the punchline, and it's yet another delight. I'm especially a fan of the obscure reference to "Champ," New York's own version of Nessie. Andersen also includes obscure, newly, created cryptid "Siren Head," which had given me a new hyperfixation.
Yet another wonder from Sarah Andersen. A quick read, but a great way to lift your spirits. Including the paranormal kind.

“Cryptid Club” was the exact cup of warm spooky tea I needed from Sarah Anderson. A collection of comics following a cast of cryptids ranging from the modern to the mythical, this was a delight to read from beginning to end.
It goes without saying that humor is subjective and if Anderson’s humor doesn’t do it, then the book is worth the skip. But I delighted in every clever twist and obvious in retrospect pun with every page. A Bigfoot suffering social anxiety and a Loch Ness Monster always saying the wrong thing (like a Cryptid Cassandra of Troy) are among what emerges as a perfectly sized cast of friends dealing with the ups and downs of cryptid life. It’s less serious and adult than “Fangs” (which I also adored) but it has the same blend of horror and comedy, just chibified.
“Cryptid Club” was the kind of spooky and fun that a favorite childhood halloween film is. I can’t think of a better thing to read when greeting fall than that.
This was a fun read. Somehow even slenderman was cute in this book. Nessie was my favorite. I hadn't heard of some of the cryptids, but there is a helpful guide in the back of the book.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you so much for the advanced copy!
Im a big fan of Sarah Andersen's comics. The general art style and humor is always entertaining and cute so I was really excited to see this new set of comics!
Cryptids are a hit topic and I've always found the lore and mystery of them to be so interesting. These comics were a hilariously cute take on cryptids and their different day to day situations. Sarah chose an interesting collection of cryptids for these comics too and it was fun to see some about old school myths like Bigfoot but also some about newer creations like Slender Man or Siren Head. A really fun read!
Through adorable and charming panels, Sarah suggests the monsters of urban legend might not be so different from us.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC!
I LOVED this collection of comics all about cryptid creatures. It had me laughing and wanting to send screenshots to my friends.
Thank you #NetGalley and #AndrewsMcMeelPublishing for sending me #CrytpidClub by #SarahAndersen for review.
This is probably one of the most adorable graphic novels I have ever read. It is hard to be a cryptid and Sarah Andersen shows us the hard life they live - in a cute way! The artwork is fantastic and the puns are a riot.
This is definitely a book that everyone needs to add to their library. Especially for all the cryptid fans!
I've been a fan of Sarah Andersen for some time now, and these comics are laugh-out-loud hilarious. The book is a collection of comics that involve cryptids in relatable situations. Being from West Virginia, my favorites usually included both the Mothman and the Flatwoods Monster. Though I love her normal style of comics, it's great to see her branching out. Highly recommend for a Halloween read.
Sarah Andersen did it once again!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.8
Cryptic Club is a really funny collection of comics about cryptic creatures where Sarah brings up social anxiety and enlightens us all with how cryptically are seen and what is believed about them.
From very well known cryptically like the Loch Ness monster and extraterrestrials to less known ones such as the Chupacabra and the Spender Man. It is really cool seeing the crypt club, where these creatures are trying to ‘live their own lives” while being interrupted by humans.
As an avid lover and prostheletizer of Cryptids, this book was the best! I follow this creator on all my social media and I love her! This book is so funny and cute, and I already had it pre-ordered so I was so excited to be approved for a copy. A must read for any lover of cryptozoology and the lifestyles of cryptids.
Mothman is hotter than the Jersey Devil.
Ok. Seriously adorable. Monsters were never so inviting and how Sarah Andersen presents them. Mothman may just be my favorite being, and I really don't like moths.... The graphics were fun, colorful, and did well taking known, usually terrifying creatures, and adapting them to her style while staying true to their characters yet adorable. I really enjoy this author's other graphic novels, and this one definitely carries the trademark easy and relatable humor.
Today I learned exactly what Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Ghosts, Cthulhu, Extraterrestrials, Flatwoods Monster, Fresno Nightcrawlers, Jackalope, Kraken, Loch Ness Monster, Mothman, Siren, Siren Head, Sleep Paralysis Demon and Slender Man all have in common, They are in the Cryptid Club by Sarah Anderson. This cute collection made me Laugh Out Loud. I especially loved the Cryptid Valentines. I was Rolling On The Floor Laughing when Bigfoot tries to get a good photo. This book was short, sweet and uplifting. The glossary at the end was helpful as I wasn’t aware of the Flatwoods Monster or the Fresno Nightcrawlers. Thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC.
AH I had no idea what to expect but this turns out to be a collection of comics that I've seen passed around on the internet!! They actually made me genuinely laugh a few times, so I'd say this is pretty spooky AND successfully funny.
Peculiar creatures and good humour —*chefs kiss— perfect combination.
This collection is everything great about @club.cryptid on Instagram, and more!
It's an absolute joy to turn the pages of this graphic novel and read about these strange and legendary monsters interacting with each other. Some have frightened, mystified and fascinated mankind for centuries, others have only recently become known, but all have their believers.
I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting but it was not “this”. Omg I am not complaining though. I was having such a bad night and day and I opened this and there are just so many little things that still have me laughing. I appreciate the glossary at the end with a brief explanation of each cryptid as there were a couple I honestly was not familiar with. This book is hilarious and I cannot wait to own it ! This will make an excellent gift as well for anyone into paranormal , abnormal , strange etc. this book had me laughing so hard I was in tears lol and for the most part it’s very “clean” Loved it , loved it , ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!!!

I've been a fan of Sarah Andersen's comics for a long time, and I found the Cryptid Club on Instagram. The series follows a group of popular cryptid friends as they try to overcome their insecurities, socialize with humans, evade humans, date, and parent. Just like us! This book is a compilation of those comic strips, plus some additional, exclusive strips and illustrations.
Fans of the supernatural in particular will love this charming, laugh-out-loud book. It was a very quick read - I finished it in a sitting and wished it was longer! It's reasonably easy to understand, but you do need to have a basic knowledge of cryptid culture to get the references. Most of the book is PG, but there's a strip that mentions anal. The illustrations are done in Andersen's style and fully coloured.
I would have loved it if the strips had been grouped thematically, or if there had been a longer story included, but this would still make a lovely present for any humour fans!
I love Sarah Anderson. I love cryptids. This book was made for me. Her adorable art style is perfect for quick little pokes at the amusement value of possibly terrifying creatures that may or may not actually exist. There are some real 'characters' in this collection, each cryptid tends to have a name (or is referred to by species) and you can really see the personality behind each individual. It's not like all Bigfoot are the same, and Sam had some anxieties he'd like to share with you!
