This was very cute! The art is adorable and the situations the characters are in are quite funny. There's not much to say besides the fact that it was a quick and simple read and I won't be revisiting it. I think kids would like this a lot.

I initially wanted to read this book because I really like Sarah Andersen’s Fangs.
While I didn’t dislike anything about Cryptid Club (the comics are cute), I also didn’t find it good enough to honestly say that I’d spend money on the book.

Cryptid Club is a laugh-out-loud funny book of mini-comics featuring various cryptids like ghosts, nightcrawlers, Mothman, and Bigfoot. So many of these had me snort laughing and tempted to screenshot the page to send as a meme to my friends. Until I realized I’d be doing it with basically the entire book, so instead I’ll likely be gifting it to a few people once it’s released. The drawings are cute, the jokes are zingy and while some are predictable, they’re still pretty great and surprisingly relatable. Who doesn’t love a good “you mom” joke but from a cryptid, and who hasn’t wanted to look good in an unposed shot only to realize it was blurry and weird (poor Sam aka Bigfoot is going through it on social media). A quick, funny read.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book!

Cryptid Club is a graphic novel by Sarah Andersen, author of the Sarah's Scribbles comics and Fangs. This graphic novel contains the funniest little stories about bigfoot, chupacabra, cthulhu, mothman, the Loch Ness Monster, ghosts, and many other monsters, aliens and creatures. This was so hilarious. I loved the illustrations so much.
Also, super fast read, I read it in just one sitting. Probably my favourite by her so far!!

I'm absolutely obsessed.

Cryptid Club was just what the doctor ordered - silly folklore creatures doing silly things and bringing a smile to my face. I LOVED this. I've been a huge fan of Sarah Andersen for years and love her other graphic novels (Fang is wonderful!) so I was very excited to pick this up.

I can absolutely see myself recommending this to my audience, and I already have a few friends in mind who definitely need to pick up copies. Not to mention, I need a copy for my shelves because it's so cute. I loved this collection of comics and hope there's a sequel or more in the future for the cryptid club!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with a copy for an honest review!

More like a compilation for the Halloween lovers, it's perfect for someone who's all Halloween inside.

I say, if you don't know the references the comic is making, I'm 90 percent sure you won't laugh your a off while reading this one.

Thank you, Andrews McMeel, for the advance reading copy.

Sarah is my queen. Whatever she comes out with, I am here for it.

This compilation is pure entertainment and I laughed the entire time (after forgetting what's laughing for jokes for an entire month or so 🤦). Thank you, Sarah, for always rescuing me with your work. It means a lot. Your sense of humour works like charm.

Love the cute, dark artwork. Already waiting for the next book!

Thank you for the EArc. I adore Sarah Anderson books and this one us no exception. Super cute book about everyone’s favorite cryptids. I laughed out loud more than once and the illustrations are me smile. Another great book by a great author. My only suggestion might be to out the cryptid descriptions at the beginning just in case some non cryptid loving person picks up this book, it would help put a little context to the pages.

I’m a longtime fan of artist Sarah Andersen, so I was happy to see a collection of her latest webcomics “Cryptid Club.” This series features funny scenes starring well-known mysterious creatures like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Slender Man, ghosts, and extraterrestrials. I prefer her original “Sarah’s Scribbles” work, but I still found these strips amusing and charming. This would make a perfect gift for someone who is in interested in cryptozoology and the paranormal, adores cute things, and has a silly sense of humor.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I posted my review online on July 13, 2022, on Goodreads here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4844138835.

Thanks to NetGalley for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Andersen's art style is always cute, and it's probably even cuter when she's drawing cryptids (Sam and Mothman are my faves). While I didn't find any of the comics in this collection laugh-out-loud funny, I did loudly exhale a few times. The humor is similar to her other works.

I really like that there's a glossary in the back with a few sentences about all the cryptids, in case you aren't familiar with them.

Cryptid Club is the newest collection of comics by Sarah Andersen. In this collection, we see all kinds of different cryptids including Bigfoot, aliens, sirens, mothman, slender man, and little ghosties while they try to figure out life.

This was adorable, perfect, wholesome, and funny. All the good adjectives! Sarah’s work is well known. I’ve seen hundreds of her little comics at this point so I knew this was going to be a good book but even with high expectations, this exceeding them. This book doesn’t really have a story to comment on-it’s all feelings and good vibes. This is something I would recommend to anyone who needs a pick me up.

While, as someone who follows Sarah Anderson, not a lot of the content of book surprised me, I found it impossibly delightful regardless! Anderson always has a way of lifting your heart out of the dark, even if it's only for a moment. The misadventures of our favorite cryptids makes for many giggles. My personal favorite that never ceases to make me laugh is "Release the Kraken". Every time I see it, I smile!

I really enjoyed reading Cryptid Club. Every mini-comic made me smile or laugh. It's the perfect read for a bad day buster or just some relaxing "me time" reading. The illustrations are adorable and the context relatable.

I was previously unaware of Sarah Anderson's work, but will be looking for more.

Maybe this is on me, but after reading the description I thought this work was going to try and make a connection between the cryptids social struggles and the human ones. I was partially mistaken, though. Sarah Andersen's comics usually make me so happy, the humor's on point and has an effortless quality to it. Still looking forward to reading more from her.

My thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

*I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity*

An adorable and hilarious collection of comics featuring common (and uncommon) crytids! They live, they laugh, they love-- and it's utterly charming. Sarah Anderson is easily one of the most recognizable comics of the millenial generation, and she certainly did not fail with this newest collection. I found myself laughing out loud several times, and (at the very least) smiling the rest of the time.

If you're looking for a quick and funny read full of bit sized comics, go on an join the CRYPTID CLUB.

Cryptid Club is the newest release from author/illustrator Sarah Andersen, creator of Sarah’s Scribbles. This book contains many of the mini comics from her new series about cryptid creatures including 25 never before seen comics.

This book is delightful! I follow the author’s social media so I had seen several of these comics before and I still laughed out loud at every one. I unapologetically read the entire book in one sitting. While each page could be read as an individual comic, there is a subtle storyline that builds throughout the book.

I really enjoy Sarah Andersen’s art. Although the theme of Cryptid Club is different from her usual work, the same sense of humor and style are there with this series. This book comes out in September so it'll be just in time for “spooky season”.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing.

Sarah finally lends her humourous scribbles to the Cryptids and boy it did not disappoint! With a nice cast of cryptid characters, and some relatable themes like social anxiety - Cyptid Club is a great book to dip in and out of when you need that extra serotonin boost!

Review to come September 8th to blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Meet the Cryptic Club! Bigfoot, Ghosts, Extra-terrestrials, Kraken, Siren, Mothman, and many other cryptids make up the comics in this book! I was so hyped that Sarah Andersen was bundling these comics from Twitter/online to a physical format! It was high on the list of books to read in September but then in July I got the chance to read the book from Netgalley! Imagine how hyped I was to get to read it early! Eep!

I have been following this comic from some time, though with how Twitter worked I didn't always get to see the comics. So this book was a combination of new and old comics. Did I mind re-reading the comics I already read? No, not at all! In fact, some just got better because now you got some extra context and it just made me laugh or cheer for characters.

I loved that we didn't just get cryptids that are well known (I mean, Bigfoot, Nessie or Mothman are pretty well known), but also some that I didn't know directly. Like Siren Head, or Fresno Nightcrawlers, or Flatwoods Monster. I loved reading about all the cryptids and loved how some of the stories overlapped or had a continuation later on. I loved seeing the cryptids become friends. Well, most of them become friends, the extra-terrestrials don't often connect with the other cryptids. Instead we read about their cow-loving overlord, about how their planet is now called Uranus (and I laughed at the reaction of the aliens to that). I had fun seeing what the cryptids got up to. From parties to flirting to having conversations about feelings and anxiety to Bigfoot trying to get over being photographed and trying to get that one perfect picture to jackalope not knowing who his true parentage is to Slenderman and his suits. There is plenty of more and there is never a dull moment. Oh no. This book will make you laugh, laugh even harder, and cheer for these wonderful characters. Sarah Andersen made cryptids so so fun and made them more human, more alive.

I was definitely shipping Siren and Siren Head. That was so cute! And we have an established couple, namely the ghosts. Who even get a doggo. I loved seeing these two together they are so cute.

I also loved that at times we saw humans. See them try to photograph Nessie or Bigfoot, see their reaction to cryptids, and more.

The art was Sarah Andersen perfect again! I love her style!

I will definitely be checking out more about the Flatwoods Monster and Siren Head! I need to get more deets on these two cryptids.

All in all, do you need a funny book about cryptids? Do you like cryptids and want to read about them? Be sure to check out this book! And as for me? I cannot wait to see what is next for Sarah Andersen!

Slice of life but everyone is a cryptid.

Nessie liking her curves, a siren trying to date, bigfoot hiding from people because of social anxiety - maybe there are reasons for the kind of sightings we supposedly get. This is fun whether you believe or want to believe or just randomly heard of cryptids and see this as fantasy stories.

If you liked Fangs by the same author, you'll love this.
My one problem is that is was over far too quickly.

The arc was provided by the publisher.
