I like to read a wide variety of genres and MC romances are one of my guilty pleasures. I went into this one a little apprehensively when I saw how short it was. I shouldn't have worried because this author managed to write a solid story in less than one-hundred pages. So much so that I look forward to reading more in this series.
Piper has lived through life altering trauma when a former boyfriend murdered her family in front of her. After hiding out with her step-brother and his motorcycle club for eight years, she may have finally met someone that she can open her heart to. The problem is that Piper still carries guilt over her the loss of her family and the responsibility she feels for it. Basically, she doesn't believe she deserves to live a full life.
Kix is the president of a larger motorcycle club that Piper's stepbrother's club has just affiliated with. He's always been happy on his own with random women here and there but lately he's had no interest. Then he meets Piper and everything changes. He finds that he can't get her out of his mind. But she carries a sadness about her and he's determined to know who or what caused it. Then he's determined to make her his.
This was a fun and quick read that satisfied my need for a little motorcycle club escapism. In addition, there's some good setup for the next book so I'll definitely be checking it out.
Thanks to NetGalley for this complimentary reader's copy. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Unbroken by Beth D. Carter. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and Evernight Publishing for this ARC.
If you are looking for a lot of spice in your books, then give Unbroken a try. Piper and Kix and a ton of chemistry and a lot of the book were very steamy. I do wish there was more plot beyond the sex but it is what it is. I give Unbroken 3/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book!
I do wish that the book would have been longer and not so rushed so that I could have gotten more of Piper and Kix and of Piper and her stepbrother.
I really liked Piper and I love how she tough she is despite everything that she went through.
For a quick, short read, I loved it!

I really enjoyed Unbroken by Beth D. Carter and thought it was a great start to a new series.
Piper was a great character. She was resilient, strong, and even though she was in hiding at the MC she was independent, taking on the role of cook and having her own space while still being a part of the club. She didn't judge the members or the club girls. I found her really likeable and I liked that any flip flopping that went on with her decisions never lasted for long. Kix was also great. He mostly sticks to the typical alpha MC leader, but also shows respect for Piper and the fears she has.
One of the other things I really liked was the way Piper's stepbrother Wick was handled. There was a lot of opportunity for him to be a big obstacle in Piper's relationship with Kix but Carter writes him as more 3-Dimensional than that. He has his concerns for Piper's choice to get involved with Kix and some over protectiveness, but ultimately he shows that he trusts her ability to choose her partner and let's her know that he's there for her whatever happens.
This was my first time reading anything by Carter and I'm looking forward to checking out her other works.

Book Review for Unbroken by Beth Carter
This was a 2.5 to 3 ⭐ for me!
Just before her high school graduation Piper’s crazy stalker ex-boyfriend murders her family right in front of her. Money can buy anything though and within days he is back on the streets looking for her. When he finds her he kills her police guards and she narrowly manages to escape.
She runs to the only family she has left - her MC club president stepbrother. After hiding with the club for 8 years she thinks maybe she is finally safe to live her life just a little bit and sets out to have a fling with a fellow MC club president.
Danger lurks though - because somebody knows where Piper is.
Non-spoiler review - This book was a quick little read. It was enjoyable but I felt it didn’t reach it’s full potential. The story moved a bit too quickly. I loved the idea of it and wanted more.
Unfortunately, it was too insta love and not enough character development. I wanted to know more about Kix and Piper!
If you are looking for an easy fast read and like MCs this was a good palate cleanser.

When Piper’s crazy and possessive ex murders her family, she is forced to run to her estranged step brother for protection. Joining his motorcycle club allows her to remain safe for many years. It’s not until the club joins forces with another that she really starts to live though.
A super quick read with lots of shocking moments and unexpected twists. Though the story was good, I felt like it was a little rushed and could have been drawn out a bit more without losing any of the shock factor. I’m giving it a 3 simply because I wanted it to last longer and have more to the story.

This was an emotional story. The heroine experiences so much loss at such a young age I really admired the woman she grew into. I loved the way the hero “saw” her and didn’t hesitate. My only wish is that we got more of their story together.

ARC Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley. MC romance with protective male main character. Great romance, had me hooked from the beginning.

Family Protection
This was a quick MC read that told the story of a young woman being stalked and then witnessing the brutal murder of those close to her. She ran into hiding with her step-brother Wick who was a member of the Forgotten Rebels MC and was determined to keep her safe behind the club’s walls.
She lived a secluded life and stayed to herself but when the club was going to patch over with White Death MC things were about to change for her especially with their club Prez, Kix, taking notice of her.
I was hooked on this book all the way through and have to say I’d look forward to reading more from this author.

3 stars!
The first book in the Forgotten Rebels series, had a great storyline, intriguing characters, but needed more punch. The story revolves around Piper, who establishes a relationship with her long-lost stepbrother, who happens to the the President (I think) of Forgotten Rebels. I don’t want to give any spoilers on the storyline but I really liked the idea of it.
Things it lacked: not enough detail about what the characters looked like. It’s hard to connect fully with a character if you have no idea what they look like. The beginning of the story was pretty cheesy..I almost stopped reading it…but keep plugging along! The smut was good and very descriptive…if the rest of the story was as descriptive, we would have had a helluva book!
Good start in series, not great.

ARC Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley for an honest opinion. Piper and Kix give us some great MC romance to keep us on our toes. An exciting mystery and love story. Piper is running from her family's killer, and Kix is determined to keep her safe at all costs.

Unbroken
4 Stars
I really enjoyed this novella and ended up reading it all in one setting. This is a quick read. When Piper's life fractures, she has nowhere to turn except to her step-brother and his motorcycle club. She has to give up her past, and her future is forever changed.
Piper has suffered survival guilt for so long, she doesn't feel she deserves a HEA. Good thing Kix is persistent and strong enough to shoulder some of her pain.
Piper and Kix have good chemistry and a balanced relationship. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love situations, but it works OK here. My only complaint is that it’s too short. A few more pages to wrap everything up. I wanted to see Piper and Kix settled into their relationship. Thank you, NetGalley and Evernight Publishing, for providing me with a digital ARC for an honest review.

I loved the plot of this book, but I felt like the book was too short for it! I would have liked more build up to both the plot and the characters' relationship. Overall a quick and fun read.

Piper’s childhood was crushed from the crazed actions of the spoiled rich Tyler. In an effort to find peace she escapes to her stepbrothers MC and her life gets flipped upside down and the “bad guy” you were told to avoid as a child actually turns out to be the hero? Kix is the president of his MC and used to getting what he wants. The attraction between Piper and him is red hot, instantaneous, and shockingly sweet. Never would I have expected a tough biker to be so sweet but they complemented each other so well, age difference none the less. This book was definitely not what I was expecting, but in a good way. It’s a quick, soft MC romance (so a good introduction if you’re new to MC books); with lots of heat, and a menagerie of bikers that leave me wanting to hear more about. And the fact that the “good guy” is not your typical hero is even better. This is my first book by this author but a good one, just hoping for a little more length in the next one. 4 stars . I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I'm giving this four stars, but to be clear it's because I knew going in it was a novella and my expectations were set accordingly. I wasn't sure what to expect with this once since it's an older release that popped up on NetGalley so I decided to ARC it since it's not available in Kindle Unlimited and it's priced way more than I would ever pay for a book under 100 pages, and the blurb very much intrigued me.
I definitely enjoyed this one - you have to be a fan of insta-love and mc romances, but if you do like either than this is a nice, quick enjoyable read. There were some funny word choices here and a funny use of "one per center" instead of "one percenter" which are entirely different things with different meanings and left me with a good laugh. That being said, I loved the angst you feel when reading this and the chemistry between Piper and Kix. I'd definitely be up for trying another one of her books, but only if priced appropriately, but from what I can see most of her books are overprices for their length, which is a huge bummer.

A quick read that is a tragic story. When Piper's life is completely shattered she has no where to turn except her step brother and his club. They take her in after their lives are forever changed.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Not a long read m, this book nevertheless manages to give a nice storyline as well as a great set up for the next book (looking forward to Wick and Abbott!)
Piper dates the wrong guy and it comes back to haunt her badly so she seeks refuge with her step brother. I love how her relationship with Wick wasn’t painted as this picture perfect one and a nod was made to how hard they found it in the early years of her hiding before coming to the place they are now.
Piper really doesn’t know what to do about her feelings for Kix, and to be fair he doesn’t know what to do about her either beyond wanting her. Piper feels like she doesn’t deserve happiness and I like how Kix helped her realise she didn’t need punishing and should forgive herself
An enjoyable read

Obsessed.
This book was so good.
My only complaint is that it’s too short. I want more Piper and Kix. I also need to hear more about Abbott and Wick. Also, Heart- I need to know more about him.
These characters are amazing
Pipers strength is incredible
Kix protection instincts are so strong
Wick also has those protective instincts and shows he cares
I can’t wait to read more from this author

A big thank you to NetGalley and Evernight Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is my first time reading this author. This is a first in a series, and is more like a novella as it is only about 89 pages. Piper is interesting, but she needed to have gotten some counseling. This had some suspense and a twist. I liked the characters. Enjoyed Piper and Kix's relationship. 3.5 stars Not everyone like MC stories, but this one was worth the risk.

Read this in one sitting. Enjoyed this book. Quick read and looks to be a fun series to read more of.
