Another excellent and highly entertaining read from Casey Kelleher, she never fails to captivate my attention.
So Only Child is a Psychological Thriller that literally has you on the edge of your seat in anticipation as to what might happen next, plenty of suspense and surprises in this story plot, which I have to say was really very well written.
It was a well thought out story, with four main characters, Sherrie, Richard, Kayla and Tessa, each of whom had their own story to tell. It wasn’t obvious immediately as to how Tessa fitted it with the other three characters to begin with, but even when it did become apparent, the story still had me guessing a fair bit as to how things would pan out and eventually end. As for that twist at the end, well I certainly didn’t see that one coming. Nicely done Casey.
Oh My God! What a read! I literally could not put this book down. Had me hook line and sinker with a great storyline and multiple suspenseful twists along the way. Highly recommend
What a wild story!
The twists and turns are crazy.
I couldn’t put this book down. Definitely recommend if you want a fast paced thriller.
A roller-coaster of twists that challenges your assumptions at every corner. Read well into the early hours and could not put it down!
Richard and Sherrie have a fifteen year old daughter called Kayla who they adore. When Kayla goes missing after a night out with friends, as hours turn to days the couple grow more concerned and are beside themselves.
Running parallel is a story about Tessa and her partner Amelia. It is revealed that Tessa has had a troubled past.
This is a gripping read. I was intrigued as to how Tessa's story would fit in with Sherrie and Richard's.
A beautifully written book, great storyline, intriguing characters and an ending that I did not see coming!!!
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sherrie and Richards fifteen year old daughter goes missing in this gripping psychological thriller. Their past is catching up with them in this novel full of lies and deceit. A good read with a great ending.
This one had me gasping for breath. The shocks are unbelievable. You can't stop reading until the very last page. When the bombshell hits it's explosive.
What a gripping read! Multiple story lines and twists! When the only child of Sherrie and Richard goes missing Sherrie fears her past may have caught up with her. Thank you to NetGalley and he publisher for an ARC of this book!
A brilliant book
Couldn’t put it down
Will have you hooked from the first page to the last
Can’t wait for the next book
Thanks NetGalley
The synopsis of this book doesn’t completely match the plot, so here is my revised synopsis
Tessa is moving forward with her life after a traumatic experience. She lives with her girlfriend, and doesn’t even need to take her anxiety medications anymore. But one day she sees a man from her past, at least she thinks he’s the man from her past, and her obsession rekindles. When the man’s daughter goes missing everyone is a suspect, including Tessa. What would she do to get back at the man. Or is his and his wife’s secret the reason for their daughters disappearance.
The story was truly more about Tessa and her past, than it was about Kayla being kidnapped and her parents dealing with that.
The characters were all quite flat and tended to flip flop on their thoughts a lot. They had no solid characterization to them.
The ending was good. Twisty enough and compellingly real. It made up for the rest of he story.
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC
I don't thank you though for keeping me up at night trying to finish it!
A book full of lies and deceit, red herrings and you just didn't know what was true and what wasn't.
A great storyline with great characters and well paced.
Thank you
Filled with deceit and lies this book had me reading till the early hours!
Full of red herrings so you never knew what was truth and what wasnt.
A totally gripping read which I very much enjoyed
Well, I couldnt put this one down. The story had me flipping through those pages and I couldnt wait to the end to see how it finished. The ending was predictable but I still really enjoyed it.
I absolutely positively enjoyed this thriller. Cannot wait to check out more books in the future by this author. This book was a very quick read for me and I love the character development from beginning to end.
Only Child by Casey Kelleher is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you engaged and flying through the pages.
Fifteen year old Kayla is the adored only child of Sherrie and Richard. Sherrie is especially involved with her daughter and lives in constant fear of losing her precious girl. When her worst fear is realized and Kayla fails to return home, Sherrie knows that someone has taken her. Is her own past finally catching up and punishing her in the worst imaginable way? The answer will leave you stunned.
This is a pulse-pounding rollercoaster of a read, and I will be seeking out more from this author in the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

What an awesome book. Multiple storylines to follow and a really great ending.
This book has several different threads to keep track of, and each of them are gripping and suspenseful as the reader tries to connect them all together!
I couldn't put this one down. It is a complex plot that needs some level of concentration to follow it entirely, but it's worth it. It is very clever, and intricately plotted.
I did figure some of the plot out, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment at all.
This is unputdownable, twists galore and definitely 'read in one sitting'.
Casey Kelleher is cementing her position in the thriller genre.
A slow start to this story but by the end, a dark and twisted tale that had me on edge the whole time.. Lots of twists and an ending I didnt expect.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC
