I guess we all know the feeling: you get a present and you have two choices. The first one is to slowly unwrap it by carefully picking at the sticky tape to make the surprise last longer. The second one is to rip the paper off in order to unravel the content as soon as possible.

The book gave me the same vibes: I wanted to read without delay because I had to know how it would end and at the same time I wanted to make the reading pleasure last eternally.

Children… you want to protect them, cherish them, put them in a box maybe and never let them out of your sight. You do this because you love them and you want to keep them safe. They grow up though and you have to give them space. Space to find their own way. You can still help and guide them, but you have to let them make their own mistakes. In my opinion it’s what every parent wants to do and the letting go is the hardest part. Your children will thank you for it, they will love you for it and you will never lose them. Some parents might have other reasons to wrap their children in cotton wool…

One day something devastating happens. Your child has been kidnapped. You are besides yourself. The question is why…

Some things clicked in my mind, others left me completely in the dark and took my totally by surprise. I never saw this coming. Kudos to the author for putting me on the wrong foot. I thought I knew what I was reading, but I was not. Well, not always and not entirely.

Do I speak in riddles? Yes, I can understand where you are coming from. If you want to know what I mean, you should get yourself a copy. 😉

A great story. 5 stars

Thank you

Fifteen-year-old Kayla is the apple of her parents’ eyes, their beautiful only daughter. They tried for so long to have her that she was even more precious when she arrived. But deep down, her mother Sherrie has always been terrified that their worst fear would come true: that Kayla would be taken from them.
Then one day just as Sherrie had dreaded Kayla fails to return home after a sleepover. In desperation, Sherrie and her husband Richard call Kayla’s friends. They scour the streets, their search becoming more and more frantic. Until the police arrive and deliver the shocking news, when their worst nightmare comes true: someone has their daughter.
As Sherrie and Richard grill friends, family, and even each other, Sherrie starts to wonder, has the secret they’ve been hiding all these years finally caught up with them?
Because Sherrie and Richard are living a lie. A lie so huge, so shocking, that it could destroy the one thing they hold most dear their daughter.
And if the truth comes out, their family will never be the same. But if it doesn’t, they will never see their precious girl again…
Totally gripping really enjoyable read totally recommend

Wow what a story Casey Kellher has really pulled it out the bag again. Every new book you write becomes my new favourite.

So many twists and turns, just when I thought I knew where the story was going, the plot just twisted. I could not put this book down. I am a bit gutted I have finished it because how do I find a book that matches your amazing talent.

Keep doing what your doing, your an amazing author and my absolute number 1.

My Review:
Wow, wow, wow!!!!! I was hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put this one down for the life of me. I read it in just a day. All of it was so good. Especially that ending that shocked me and took my breathe away. I couldn’t believe what I was even reading. I had to read it twice just to make sure I was reading it correctly. I was like what!!!!! This book had it all. Great characters, great story line, and of course my favorite a great ending. The characters were just the right amount devious while the plot kept me intrigued the whole time. Then that ending almost gave me a heart attack. There were so many twists and turns in this one. I couldn’t keep up. I’ve read this author before and she never disappoints. I can’t wait to read her next book.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Unputdownable standalone chilling and mind blowing read.
Hackney London, Tessa and her partner Amelia are happy together, Tessa's past needs to be forgotten easier said than done as we learn the full story.
When doing a normal shop at the supermarket she cannot believe it, It's him the man that destroyed her life and got away with it, much older now but she's not mistaking and follows him home to seek him out. he's only a stone throw away from where she lives.
Going by a different name Richard Goldman is living a comfortable life now with his wife Sherrie and their only child Kayla who they adore and are so protective. Tessa is watching and waiting she will get revenge.
I had to read on more and more it's one out standing book and oh wow it touched my button's big time, truly amazing twisted chapters right up to that brilliant twisted ending that I did not expect
Brilliant writing once again from Casey Kelleher that always sends shivers down my spine.
This book to me is a best seller in the making.

I could not put this book down, it lured me in and held me hostage right to the very end, each character and plot twist written so well I couldn’t tell who to hate and who to feel sorry for.
.
Over protective parents, a daughter suffocated by the rules and someone so twisted that they would endanger a child’s life……….. it’s every parents nightmare.

Only child is a story in its own right, dark & twisted which makes for a brilliant read

A gripping, edge of your seat work of art.

Whether you’re a long standing fan or brand new to Casey’s books you will not be disappointed.

Queen Casey is back, straightening the crown and reminding us why she is just so utterly fantastic.

Only child is an absolute gem to read, I have been eagerly awaiting this one and instantly dropped everything to read this one. I definitely haven’t been disappointed and this is a favourite of Casey’s.

I don’t know where to begin with a review of this gem. I’m unsure words will express how fantastic this one is. We are introduced to Kayla, overprotected by her parents to the point Sherrie comes across as suffocating. Sherrie is a character I have been completely torn in my opinion.

Kelleher has pulled the rug from under me completely with this masterpiece. I have literally been completely speechless (something which doesn’t happen often). The events in this really start to unravel when Kayla finds that her mother hid her passport to prevent her going on a school trip.

This is perfectly paced, as a reader we are given insight into the past as well as the present. However, when past and present collide- there’s a huge shock in store for the reader. One that will leave you stunned.

Tessa is a character that I was unsure of. I couldn’t work out where she fit into the story! I definitely couldn’t predict what was coming.

Kelleher has a real talent for captivating her readers. You feel as though you are watching this play out in front of you. Only Child is a thrilling, addictive and shocking masterpiece that will leave you craving more.

This is a book worthy of all the praise. I wish I could give this more than five stars to show just how wonderful this book is. I cannot wait to see what’s next and will be recommending this book to everyone.
