Thank you Netgalley for sending me this for my honest review!
Cute, easy to follow, I had fun pulling the ebook on my phone then screen sharing to my TV so my kids could draw with me.
Let's draw cats
3.5 Stars
I remember checking out many How to Draw books from our school library. I remember enjoying losing myself for hours. Let's Draw Cats is very much in that wheelhouse. It's a step-by-step tutorial, a short book that breaks drawing cats into 10 steps, for beginner-level artists in elementary school. This book covers tools & materials, shading, textures, and tips for how to draw a circle. This book is good for learning the proportions of animals, but I noticed that shading/lighting is kinda glossed over. I'd recommend this book to a school or public library.
Honestly, in 20 years, a lot of things in art have changed. I'm disappointed that this book doesn't reflect that. Having a link to the artist on YouTube to follow along would have been nice. That said, this method still works and some prefer their kids to have less screen time. Thanks, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group, for providing me with a digital ARC for an honest review.
This book highlights the simplistic ways to bring playful cats and kittens onto a piece of paper. The techniques learned can be used as a basis for watercolor, paint, or simply drawing alone.
Lets Draw Cats is a short step by step guide for beginner artists and children. Perfect for cat lovers as there are a good variety of different breeds to have a go at in the projects. It is very easy to follow so is suitable for everyone. Techniques and materials are addressed and the cats are presented in different poses all in a life like style. Overall a very good short book.
This is a really informative and easy to follow guide to drawing cats. I enjoy drawing as a hobby and I am looking forward to honing my talents and practicing some of the tips in this book.
This book is a good resource for someone who wants to learn to draw proportions. It shows examples of making each section of the animal which is valuable to the person wanting to learn. The pictures and additions to this book make it easy to visualize yourself doing it as well.
Loved this easy to follow step by step guide to drawing my all time favourite thing CATS
It’s a simple to follow book around 50 pages long with the first pages giving the basics of drawing, materials, shading etc, then the basics of drawing cats in classic poses, sleeping and the like.
Then what follows is guides on drawing different breeds, these sections are great with a good mix of breeds. Loved the Ragdoll guide I will trying that for sure.
The sketches and guides are for drawing a real to life cat rather than a cartoon style.
I would buy this book for anyone over the age of 8, with the target audience being are 8-13, That being said this 37 year cat lady loved it.
Purrrrfect for any budding artists
