Quick Summary: A lost and found romance
My Review: The Christmas Cottage by Christine Rimmer was a challenging read for me. I had great difficulty connecting with this story. It's, quite frankly, hard to say exactly why and yet there it is.
In terms of the main characters - Alex and West - they were ok. Alex was lost during the majority of the story. I understand how changes come about in one's life, but she went from a career driven, family oriented leader to a confused being who lacked clear direction. That was frustrating to witness. As for West, he was likable. Although he was lost in the way of love, he found his true heart in Alex. That was nice. A HEA was realized, and that's always a good thing.
Now, about the family. The dynamics with this huge gathering of people was interesting. Some of the family members came across as pushy busybodies. I wanted to see things differently, but I couldn't. Why? The dipping and dabbling happened so many times. It was not appropriate, IMO.
My Final Say: I really wanted to love this story, but I don't think it was for me, I'm sorry to say.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley, who provided access to this title in exchange for an honest review.
I am not going to lie this was my least favorite book I have read on Net Galley. The intimate scenes were very hard to read due to the descriptions and the characters did not hold my attention. Sorry to say, but I regret pushing the request button.
The Christmas Cottage (Wild Rose Sisters Book 3) by Christine Rimmer
This is a great series and I love Wes and Alex's story. They had a one night fling after Easton and Payton's wedding and a year later are sharing the cabin over Thanksgiving. There is another wedding and they cross the line they said they wouldn't. This book can be read as a stand alone. There are so many wonderful family and friends to catch up with, laughter, love, discovery, self reflection, angst, doubt, lots of steam and a few tears all to get us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Wonderful characters Entertaining Steamy Unpredictable Easy-to-read Funny Tear-jerker Great world building Page-turner Romantic Happily Ever After. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this book.

A very cute holiday romance. Very descriptive.. Great for lovers of series or family based plots - lots of loving family interaction.
I really enjoyed reading this book and what's not to like when it involves Christmas and romance?!! After reading this story, it really makes you want to have your very own Christmas cottage, complete with a loving family that will support you in every way.
Alexandra has just quit her job on the advice of a fortune cookie and now finds herself at the family's cottage with no idea what she wants to do with her life. Before she can even blink, she also finds herself sharing the cottage with her sister's brother in law, Weston. Neither one of them is ready to settle down but since they're so attracted to each other, maybe a Christmas fling is in order....that is until feelings deepen and having to say goodbye might be the hardest thing they have to do.
This was well written and the characters were all so wonderful. The storyline was also interesting and kept my attention from start to finish.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin I was able to read this before it published. I really wanted to like this novel however I felt that it fell flat. I was not engaged in this novel, nor did I really relate to the characters. I DNF this read. I definitely would try to read other novels by Christine Rimmer and try to come back to this however I could not get into it this attempt.
Cute feel-good holiday book. Lighthearted romance that left me wanting Christmas now!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own
The Christmas Cottage was just what you'd expect from a light-hearted holiday romance. Sometimes holiday romances don't actually have many references to winter weather or Christmas in them, and this is definitely not the case with this title. I love the premise of using a fortune cookie to jump start a new page in the protagonist's life.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect book to snuggle up with on any day.
