I enjoyed this book. In the beginning I was worried that it was going to feel rushed with the skipping ahead 5 years at a time, but these didn’t mess with the flow of the story as much as I thought it would. I thought the story line was unique, two shifters that deny they are mated, the pack gets involved and plays a little matchmaking. I thought this book was a sweet, steamy, and enjoyable read.

A beautiful story of mates finally coming together because they genuinely liked each other with obstacles a quick fun read.

This was my second Crescent book, and neither has disappointed! This was a super fast and fun read. There was no painful miscommunication, no halfway through issues. No, it was just a sweet (and somewhat spicy) romance with a happy ending. It was the perfect quick read, and one if definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed the main characters of this book. And I think that as young adults their resistance to the mating bond because of the pressure from their family and pack was very valid.

However, I hated that every step of the relationship was manipulated by the same family that put that pressure on them. Even when they make their own decision, it was already planned by the alpha. To me, it ruined their romance and their choice in the matter.

I usually enjoy the alpha romances by this author but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this one.

But thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

A quick and easy read, Hate Mates by Sam Crescent introduces us to Landon and Alexa. The pair were born on the same day at the same time, and have grown up being pushed together by not only their parents, but their entire pack.

Over the years, Landon and Alexa have pushed back against this; and now, they 'hate' each other - at least publicly. In private, however, they each find comfort from each others photograph.

Despite this, they still refuse to mate, even when they first transition into wolf form at 18 and realise that, yes, they are in fact fated mates.

Landon still has his girlfriend, Cheryl, and Alexa still avoids him at all costs.

But when Cheryl attacks Alexa, the leading alpha in the pack takes action and forces the pair together. Is it time to admit they never hated each other? Can they resolve their issues and become the fated pair they were destined to be?

Hate Mates is a short read. It's enjoyable, but doesn't go beyond the surface or get the reader deeply involved. The hate between Landon and Alexa doesn't make a lot of sense; they literally have no reason why they hate each other. In fact their stubbornness not to mate does nothing but hurt themselves and the pack.

There's an immaturity to both the writing and the characters. However, this was still a decent read and is a fine way to while away an afternoon with a quick read.

Three stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Evernight publishing for my copy of Hate Mates.
I love anything by Sam Crescent and her books are always a hit for me. This book did not fail. I loved the idea of Landon and Alexa both too sturbbon to accept the connection between them with the knowledge that they are mates for years and are still fighting. I don't usually read stories with that plot so it was refreshing to do so. The only problem I had with the story is that we didn't have some more confrontations with Landon and his friends.
