Like the other books in this series, this is a good basic drawing book -- short, easy to follow and affordable (under $10). There are 10 tutorials and they're the style of draw a circle and then a line here and then add this bit and erase this bit and so on. The first four pages of each book have the same content recommending simple supplies like a number two pencil and give basic instructions on drawing the shapes, shading, adding detail, etc. There are ten tutorials, of which 8 are birds and 2 are butterflies. The birds include a mallard duck, a hummingbird, an owl, etc. This obviously is not going to be a thorough how-to of every bird or butterfly you want to draw but it's a good start for kids and adults alike.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
This is a great book to learn how to draw various birds and butterflies. I can't draw but my son loves to so I plan on getting him this book.
Easy to follow, but uses the usual technique of drawing circles then joining them up. I wished there was a better explanation on how to draw the textures etc as it felt a bit rushed, but I decent nom otherwise. The animals you can draw are all written in the description, there aren’t any additional ones
