This intricate, fast paced, engrossing thriller takes on data mining and its potential exploitation by bad actors.
Playwright Kate Gamble has been working for a very long time on a script about the dangers of data mining. It's a topic close to her heart and to her family.
This ties in to her mother's death, a close friend's disappearance in Columbia, cybercrimes - and nonstop action. Not to be missed!
I was not expecting the WWII connection in this novel and it fascinated me. We think big data is new, but it clearly is not. A must read.

Code 6 by James Grippando, the technothriller is a new direction for James Grippando but I liked it. I have not been a big reader of conspiracy literature for the last 5+ years, but this drew me in. I loved the characters in the twisty, plot line. I did have to work to suspend disbelief a bit, but it was totally doable. Hats off and congratulations on the great conundrum devised for the mc. Recommended.
Christian Gamble, head of a private data company with clients in the counter-terrorism business. His daughter, Kate, has been secretly researching a play she wanted to write that causes family secrets, conspiracy and cover ups to explode around her. Her friend is kidnapped with a ransom requested of Code 6, a technology developed by her father’s company. The plot is well written and includes historic points that make the storyline believable and engaging. I recommend this book and this author.
A gripping thriller with more plot twists than you can imagine, Code 6 weaves several different story strands together. And just when the reader thinks they’re starting to figure one portion of the story out, the rug is pulled out from under them!
Code 6 by James Grippando is an interesting thriller that keeps you guessing just who did it.
This story is about Kate and her family. Kate is writing a play and while researching she finds out some interesting information. The information that she finds is still used today and someone wants it. She can't help but compare what she is writing with what is going on at her dad's company. This story shows just want someone will go through to get something they want.
This story is an interesting read and shows just how valuable something could be. It is a quick paced book that you want to keep reading.
Highly recommend for fans of thrillers and James Grippando.
When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure it was for me. However, it got better and better as it went on. Kate Gamble has been writing a play for most of her adult life. It's about how data about each of us is collected and used. Her father, Christian Gamble, is the CEO of Buck Technologies, whose clients are the CIA and other anti-terrorist organizations. He is not happy about his daughter writing this play as he sees it as a betrayal of his work.
Kate also wants to find out the story behind her mother's suicide. She left behind a note saying : I did it for Kate. Did what?
This is a novel with many twists and turns. The title of the book, Code 6, refers to the technology developed by Kate's fathers company, and it is extremely dangerous. You won't know who the bad guys are until the end
