I have really enjoyed this series so far and this book was great! I’m not usually a big fan of the royalty setting but this book was an exception! It’s wasn’t overpowering. It’s an enjoyable read full of spice. The plot was a little predictable but I love it. I loved the strong friends dynamic and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. I really like the forbidden bodyguard romance, it’s so different than anything else I’ve read. And of course I loved the forced proximity trope I could have done without some of the over the top possessiveness and jealousy. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the plot.
Oh man. This series. If you like romance with PLENTY of spice, this is the book for you!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC.
Ana Huang is top tier! I love the Twisted Series! We meet Rhys and Bridget in Twisted Love and I was so ready to read their book as well. Princess + bodyguard is a great trope. The gazebo scene was so good. 10/10 would recommend
This book really just took me for a ride. I loved the build up, the character development, and the writing. I would definitely read more from this author!
“There’s not much in the world I want to claim as mine... But you… You belong to me”
Synopsis: She can never be his...but he will take her anyway. Arrogant, emotionless, broody Rhys Larsen follows two rules: 1. Protect his clients at any costs 2. Never become emotionally involved. Rhys has never been tempted to break his rules before he met Bridget. Bridget von Ascheberg is a princess with a tendency to be stubborn that is an equal match to his, but she is not at all like he expected her to be and might be everything that he didn’t know he needed… Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to love and live as she chooses. However when her brother abdicates, she’s faced with the possibility of a loveless, politically arranged marriage, and a crown she never wanted. As she figures out how to navigate her new role, she must hide her desire for a man she can never have…Rhys. Hot and forbidden, their love could destroy everything…perhaps they are both doomed.
Thoughts: I absolutely devoured this book! I could not put it down. I loved the princess/bodyguard forbidden romance, the setting, plot, and the characters! Bridget is passionate, smart, strong, beautiful, and loving. I enjoyed her in book one and loved her in this! Rhys is sooo hot, broody, and possessive. Somehow he always knew what she needed and would do many things that made me swoon! And I loved the dynamic between Rhys and Bridget. I loved that Rhys and Bridget butted heads so much in the beginning. But the attraction for each other simmers until it boils over! That sexual tension could be felt through the pages, I swear! And those spicy scenes were scorching hot and that mouth Rhys has on him, seriously hot damn! They have great explosive chemistry and I could not get enough. Highly Recommend!
This book includes:
- princess x bodyguard
-forbidden romance
-possessive and dirty talking alpha
-age gap
-mutual pining
-forced proximity
-slow burn
5/5 stars
3/5 spice
Thank you Ana Huang, Bloom Books, and NetGalley for providing an arc for an honest review.
The books in Ana Huang’s Twisted series all follow a few of the same patterns. Strong alpha males who don’t believe in or desire love all meet their matches and find love with women who are seemly off limits to them.
Twisted Games features forced proximity and forbidden romance. Rhys is Princess Bridget’s bodyguard and takes his job very seriously. But his efforts to keep her safe sometimes interfere with her desire to live a normal life and the two get off to a rocky start. Things take an even more dramatic turn when Bridget’s brother abdicates leaving her to take over the throne and thrusting her more into the spotlight and into a role she doesn’t want. The long simmering attraction between the two is even more forbidden now.
Huang does a good job of building the sexual tension but I’m not a fan of her coarser style of sex scenes. I read a lot of romance and I’m not a prude, but I just didn’t find them believable given what we knew of the characters and their relationship. That said, I’m always happy to see an alpha male brought to his knees by love.
**I received Twisted Games as an ARC through NetGalley**
Ok, I absolutely loved Twisted Games, specifically Bridget and Rhys!! They were the perfect romance novel couple and I was instantly hooked on their journey/story. Ana Huang provides readers with lots of hot, tensions scenes, spicy full-on scenes, and lots of plot twists & OMG moments! I definitely liked book 2 better than book 1, mainly because I connected better with Bridget and Rhys more than I did with Ava and Alex. Also, who doesn't love a royal falling in love with her big, hot, grumpy bodyguard?? I didn't want this book to end, but I am so very content with where this book took me! 10/10 recommend!!
Overall rating: 9/10
Spicy rating: 4/5
I’m in love with this series!! It kept me highly entertained on a long 12 hour plus trip home. This is the book for any fan of the princess diaries series. It’s very similar but instead the princess gets together with the bodyguard.
Have you watched Princess Diaries and wanted the love story between Queen Clarisse, and Joe like I have? Then highly recommend reading this book.
Ok sure it’s not exactly Clarisse and Joe, it is better!
Twisted Games follows princess Bridget who is a prince in a fictional European country who gets assigned a new 6’5” hot bodyguard Rhys. The two hate but definitely are attracted to each other at first. Over an achingly long period of the time, they slowly fall for each other only to have a pesky law about Bridget having to marry a nobleman because on yeah since her brother abdicated the throne, she is going to be queen now. What’s a princess to do? Well before she can get her HEA of course things have to go wrong, there be some drama, and Rhys’ unknown father get figured out and we find out the reason he hates the country Bridget is set to rule.
Also, what did Jules do in Ohio, and what did her and Josh get up to? Great way to set up book 3, which is Jules’ book.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read Twisted Games by Ana Huang.
I liked this book. It tells the romance of princess Bridget and her bodyguard Rhys over several years. Rhys is a bit boring, but it’s still a good story. I can’t wait to read the next book about Jules and Josh.
The books in this series are so much fun. Read each of them in a day and I will definitely recommend them to a lot of readers!
Can't wait to read her new series!
I am devouring and loving every book in this series. I have been drawn in completely into the world of these fun characters!
After reading Twisted Love, I was on the fence about continuing with the series. I decided, why not. Twisted Games is Bridget’s story. Bridget is a princess in Eldora who has tried to have a normal life in the States. Unfortunately, her brother has decided not to take the throne, forcing Bridget to step up. Rhys is Bridget’s bodyguard, who happens to also be super stubborn. The two have an intense sexual attraction, that they each fall into. They are unable to be together, because she has to marry someone Royal.
This slow burn story is definitely a page turner, but I had a hard time liking Rhys. He was a little boring and crude. When the MC is crude I just struggle to feel a connection to the book. The ending was also super cheesy, but I do enjoy a cheesy ending every now and then. I will not be continuing on with this series, but I do not regret giving it a go!
I will add review to my Instagram in the next weeks!
Thank you NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review! This might be my least favorite book out of this amazing series, however it was still amazing! We meet Rhys and Bridget in the first book of the twisted series and I automatically liked them and was so excited to read their story! The length of time and years this books span was what dropped down my rating a little bit. I’m not normally into books that span such a long period of time, but Ana did it beautifully and made this love story something special!
Twisted Games is the second part of the Twisted Series by Ana Huang and i enjoyed reading it a lot! Forme it's 5 out of 5 stars.
The book is about Princess Bridget and her bodyguard Rhys trying to navigate through royal life and finding love on their way. It feels a little like a christmas movie with the story partly taking place in an European kingdom, that feels like from a fairytale. I loved Bridget, she was such a strong and powerful female character, but i totally fell in love witjh Rhys! This book is definitively my favorite of the whole series.
Such an incredible romance and great second book in this series. I am so excited to get even more heat from Huang.
Rhys and Bridget's story was so angsty and perfect. Rhys was the perfect MMC and I loved the plot of Bridget's part of the story. The vacation chapter was absolutely everything and I maybe reread it 5 times in a row jus to feel something.
Thank you #Netgalley for a digital arc of #TwistedGames in exchange for my honest review
Hands down my favorite in this series! That is saying a lot since I absolutely loved the rest of it. Lars and Bridget had the best chemistry. I adored the setting, the characters, and the plot. I enjoyed the hate to love trope in it. All the stars for Twisted Games.
