The best book in the series by far in my opinion. THIS is how you do enemies to lover's people!!!! Love Josh and Jules so much and they are so perfect for each other. I love a bit of drama thrown into the relationship and that last conflict hit the spot! Maybe he should have groveled a bit more, but I forgive Joshy.
I keep reading this series expecting the series to get better but I feel like each of these books is just a little bit too long and drawn out for what it is. This one especially so. I know they are young and that creates issues since they don’t really know how to communicate but sometimes the situations are so fixable if they just talked about it first. And this is a great example.
When it comes to enemies to lovers in this series, you can get no better than Josh and Jules. This isn't a calm or casual annoyance or general disdain. It's a true enemy to deep lovers story, with a love to hate vibe. These books are a guilty pleasure read that aren't even adjacent to any sort of realism, but they do entertain. The tortured development of feelings in this book was interesting to read. I enjoyed it more than the previous two installments in the series, but it still lacks the depth of storyline I look for in a read.
Such a fun series! Every book is so fun to read and i always speed through them! I’ll read anything Ana Huang writes.
"What was that? You always have so much to say. Where are your words now, hmm?”
"Go. To. Hell.”
"You’re my personal hell, Red. And G-d help me, I don’t want to fucking leave.”
I loved this book! Enemies to lovers is my all time favorite trope and I knew that this book was gonna be the one for me. From the past two books in the series we’ve seen Josh and Jules bicker and loathed one another for a while now. I loved that for a little bit of this book it’s pure hate and disliked, but then turned into something more neither of them was expecting. When instances occur, Josh proposes to Jules that the two of them should form an enemies with benefits. Jules and Josh can’t help feeling this attraction to one another. I loved how they slowly opened up to one and other. Without them, realizing they became friends. They both had trauma and losses in their life, and had more in common than they wanted to admit. Every sweet moment between them that had them acting like they were in a relationship had me swooning! As much as Josh could give back to Jules is hard as she gave it, he was super sweet at times with her. He took care of her when she wasn’t feeling well and comforted her when she was down. Then at times he could be so sexy! There are a lot of spicy moments in this romance! I’m talking from even being tied down to toys! For the most part I had no complaints with this romance!
Read if you like:
Dual POVs
Enemies to lovers
Best friend’s brother
Open door romance
Only one bed
Hero takes care of heroine when sick
Enemies with benefits
Bondage and props
This was definitely my least favorite of the series. I have no problem with the enemies to lovers trope but I just didn’t find this one believable. And I didn’t enjoy the way the characters treated each other. Not my cup of tea.
I have been hearing about these books for so long and I am so glad I got to finally read them, and better yet, marathon them. These are a bit darker than the romances I am used to but I still enjoyed them very much. I love these characters and I cannot wait for more Ana Huang in the future!
I read this in one single day. I started it on my way to work and by the time I got home from work that evening, I had finished. I was so engrossed in this book, but I was so anxious for Jules. Like book one, this was a bit darker than I am used to, but I still really loved it.
When I first started Twisted Hate I thought it was going to be my favorite book of the series. While all of the books have a general mild enemies to lovers vibe, this was the only one that felt truly enemies to lovers. Josh and Jules really hate each other, and that's been clear in the previous books that they weren't the stars of too. When they're forced to actually spend time together though, they both begin to realize they may have been wrong in their initial beliefs (and have great sexual chemistry). I really liked the development they each went through to unravel their ideas of each other and realize they weren't so different, and how thoughtful and open they became with one another. I think that's part of why the ending hit me so hard because, once again I was slapped with toxicity and it felt like they undid everything they built and then pulled a band-aid over it and said "all better" (not great doctoring from Josh, really). So what started out as my favorite ended up being my least favorite. I still enjoyed it and would recommend it, but overall not the best of the series for sure.
While the book had its strengths, it ultimately fell short for me compared to the previous books in the series.
One of the things I liked about "Twisted Hate" was the fast-paced plot and complex characters. The story is full of twists and turns that kept me engaged. However, I found the subject matter to be somewhat heavy-handed and less nuanced than the previous books in the series. The themes of privilege, power dynamics, and the consequences of one's actions were important, but at times felt overly preachy.
Additionally, I felt that the resolution of the story was somewhat rushed and not as satisfying as I had hoped. The ending left a few loose threads that I would have liked to see tied up more fully.
Overall, while "Twisted Hate" had its strengths, it didn't quite live up to the high bar set by the previous books in the series for me.
Give me an enemies to lovers romance and I am all in! This was a fast, fun, hot and steamy read that I couldn't put down until I was finished! This is by far my favorite book in the series and was such a fun read that i want my own copy to go and revisit their story with!
Had to DNF. Not my cup of tea. I got about 50% of the way through it and I just didn’t like it. I guess I can kinda see why people like it but it’s just not for me
Grade A Trash, there is absolutely nothing of substance to this series, but its an ok jump from spicy rom coms to smut. Just hope the readers don't get stuck here and request better books.
Josh and Jules enemies to lovers. The past, present, and future are hard to decide when it comes to these two. Both come from hard childhoods but can they truly find love? Read this in 2 days... loved it.
I was so excited for Josh and Jule's book because I knew it would be filled with the best kind of hate filled passion and Ana Huang did not disappoint. This book was so long but it went by in an absolute breeze. Jules carried this book, I loved Josh but there were times when I hated him just as much as she did. This is such a good enemies to lovers.
Thank you #netgalley for an egalley of #twistedhate
“Hell with you sounds like heaven to me.”

They are a match made in hell and their past demons threaten to destroy everything.
Thoughts: This book had me in a chokehold that I could not put it down. I was hooked from the start and have been looking forward to their book since I read Twisted Love! Anna Huang did not disappoint with this one! Honestly she hasn’t disappointed me with any of the books of hers that I have read! Jules and Joshs banter was top tier and the hate sex…. HOT DAMN. Jules was just as fiery as her red hair and I absolutely loved her!! And Josh can hate me any day if he will do those things to me *wink wink*. I loved their chemistry and how they never lost the fun banter throughout the book. The twist near the end broke me! Like damn that really hurt. But I have recovered and loved the book from start to finish, highly recommend!!
This book includes:
-enemies with benefits to lovers
-best friends brother
-forced proximity
-steamy and tons of banter
5/5 stars
3/5 spice
Thank you Ana Huang, Bloom Books, and NetGalley for providing an arc for an honest review.
"I received Twisted Hate as an ARC through Net Galley*
Twisted Hate was so so so good, I was instantly hooked!! I am a sucker for an enemies to lovers theme, and Twisted Hate did NOT disappoint. Jules and Josh's hate bants were amazing and the smutty scenes were SPICY! This series gets stronger and stronger with each book. Besides the romance and spicy scenes, I enjoyed Jules and Josh's plot and growth throughout the book. I was frustrated with some aspects but thats to be expected with romance books. I am excited and sad to read the final book of this series but I 10/0 recommend this book if you are a fan of spice, enemies to lovers or enemies with benefits!
Overall rating: 9/10
Spice rating: 3.7/4
Been looking forward to Jules and Josh’s book and it did not disappoint. Going into this story I had two questions: What the fuck happened in Ohio? and Who the hell is Magda? Both questions got answered and I wasn’t expecting the answer to question #2 until the last book and definitely was not expecting the answer to be what it was. Also, this book gave me a sex scene/act I have been waiting for in all the romance books I have read, finally got a titty fucking scene!! Twisted hate gave me all the hate nasty enemies to lovers I wanted ad then some. Really loved the added dimension of them having a casual FWB minus the friends part.
On a more serious note, enjoyed the change of pace this book brought to the series. The first two were more slow burns and this one was a fiery has Jules’ hair and the “hatred” she had for Josh. This series was recommended by a podcast listener and the rec has not disappointed, this book is going to be featured on Season 2 of Emotions & Potions.
A great follow up to other books by Huang! I adored this series in a warm and cozy way. I will defiently come back for the spice and awesome MCs.
I loooove this series! It is a lot of fun to read, even though the first book wasn't as great. Loved the characters in this one!
Thank you NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a free ARC in exchange for an honest review! Oh my lord, this book was everything and more. I loved every single second of this book, and every single trope Miss Ana Huang put into here. Best friends brother…. Friends with benefits…. Enemies to lovers…. DO I NEED TO SAY MORE?! And the “remember when I said I forgave you.. I lied” part of the book, broke my heart into little bitty pieces.
