This is a beautifully written book that will keep you turning the pages. It's not a light fluffy read, it deals with real life. Even though I hate to see the series end, this book was a perfect wrap up. Loved it and highly recommend the entire series.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The whole series about Hedgehog Hollow has been fantastic. This is a set of six books and hopefully more will come at a later date. Jessica is a fantastic author and all her books are worth a good read. This is worth far more than the 5 stars that I am able to give but please read this and enjoy. Highly recommended.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC

Oh my word, what a wonderful book and what a fantastic way to end the series. I cried more than once. Such moving stories from Fizz and Robbie, very hard hitting topics and I felt they were dealt with such respect. These characters that we are all familiar with and we think we know them, still find a way to surprise us and show us that there are many layers to a person and don’t always assume you know their full story- just like Brenda who upset Sam so much.
My poor heart broke for Terry, but I was so touched and moved at how his passing was described and his reunion, finally with Gwendoline and Thomas.
Meeting baby Thomas was wonderful and I really enjoyed seeing Sam and Josh as parents and taking the next step in their lives. I was so happy when Fizz finally realised that Phoebe was her right person, and I loved how Darcie played a part in them getting together.
The ending was beautiful and I bet that painting was a beautiful sight. I really hope we get to drop in at hedgehog hollow again and see how everyone is getting on.

I am so sad to see the end of this series, I know we'll see the residents again in Jessica Redland's other books but that doesn't lessen how upset I am at the end of one of my favourite series. However, this was the perfect ending to the series. If I could have summed up what I wanted to happen to round off this series then Jessica has managed it in this book. I was shocked by Fizz's back story - but having read the acknowledgements at the back, so was Jessica 🤣. I think my eyes filled for the first time around the 50% mark, and they stayed that way right until the very end.

Full review will be on my blog as part of the tour in September

I was so excited for this book and I think it may well be my favourite from the whole 6 book series. Jessica always puts a little ‘what’s happened so far’ at the start of her books which I find really helpful as it can jog your memory from the previous book. Along with the character guides this also means that if you hadn’t read the previous books you could jump straight in with this book and understand who everyone is.

As soon as I started reading I was transported straight to Hedgehog Hollow with Sam and Josh and their ever growing family. It really does feel like you’re a part of their world when reading these books and I find myself easily immersed. Things never go plain sailing for Sam and it’s safe to say that that is also true for this book and boy oh boy is it an emotional journey, there are a lot of sad moments in this so I would recommend having some tissues nearby!

It’s great that Jessica doesn’t forget past characters to and we get to catch up with everyone during the book which just cements the community feeling that Redland delivers in her books, even the hedgehogs aren’t forgotten!

This was such a good book and I really didn’t want it to be the end of Hedgehog Hollow as I feel like both the location and the characters have a spot in my heart. I was so chuffed when I read Redland’s acknowledgments at the end of the book but it also delivers that personal touch and had me feeling for the tissues again. An amazing author who has created an amazing series who keeps me wanting more!

This was such a sweet addition to this great series.
Once again readers get inside looks into the lives of some of the characters we have grown to love. Samantha and Josh get their Christmas Miracle, and happiness is spread to Phoebe and Fizz too. The story has it all... love, family, friendship, laughter, tears, and happy endings.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

🌹Great ending to a heartwarming series! 😊

"The fragrance stays in the hand that gives the rose." This is the mantra that Samantha, the "hedgehog whisperer" main character lives by. She's the queen of giving others the benefit of the doubt and second chances. As a result, she's ended up surrounded by a community of family and friends who helped make her growing wildlife rescue center a reality. This series is filled with stories of friendship, forgiveness, perseverance and building loving, supportive relationships in rural Yorkshire. The animals ramped up the cuteness factor, but this series, for me, has always been about Samantha's generous heart and its ability to improve the lives she touches, both human and animal. She's extended the rose, time and again, and it's paid off bigtime. This novel was a perfect, sweet ending though I am sorry the series has come to a close.

I was particularly thrilled with the HEA for Phoebe, a young woman from dire circumstances introduced in A Marriage at Hedgehog Hollow. But the author has produced happy endings for most of her characters here. And, despite including some grim realities like child abuse, serious illness and pregnancy complications, the overall tone remains positive and inspirational.

I've now read over a dozen novels by the author, all focused on love, friendship and community. Wherever her next novel leads Redland, I will be there.

Thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This was sadly the final book in this wonderful series. This one was brilliant, it had its sad moments but, mostly it was a joyful read and not as Christmassy as the title suggests. The festivities only geared up towards the end of the book., which when you are reading this book in a warm August Christmas seems a little too far away. I do hope Jessica writes more books in the future as she is one of my most favourite authors around. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I’m so sad this series is over.
A fantastic finally which tidied up all the loose ends. Jessica has an amazing way of really bringing each character to life. Samantha and extended family have been with me for so long I’m not sure how I’ll manage not reading about them anymore! Thank you Jessica Redland for this amazing series

The final book in a much-loved series, this lovely Christmas edition follows Sam, her husband Josh, and the entire crowd of family, friends (furry included!) that have come to represent familiar and cherished friends for many readers (including this one).

As we follow Sam, now thirty-two years old, and the proprietress of the Hedgehog Hollow Animal Rescue Center, from the early days through to the culmination of her pregnancy, there is, as we have come to expect, a lot happening in her life and that intersect it.

Softly layered with real people, with real lives, who worry about each other, pick up pots of paint, care for wounded animals, and rush in without hesitation to help each other celebrate or handle unexpected grief, - the big events in their lives, all of which are infinitely improved by the sharing.

Without giving the plot away (no spoilers here), Sam’s journey as it unfolds here will include preparations for Christmas and a charity fair, a number of joyful and unexpected events (and a couple of painful ones), as well as an extended visit with Fizz - Sam’s veterinary helper - who provides her own POV-based chapters, intermingling with Sam’s, where she reveals a terrible and hidden trauma from her past, as she embarks on a path of healing (and learns the key to the mending of her broken heart).

A lovely finish to a tender series, as we say goodbye to Sam and her literary world, it’s safe to say there will be more from this author - if not directly on these wonderful characters, then certainly on an intersecting and tantalizing off-shoot.

A great big thank you to the author, x blog tour for an ARC of this book. All thoughts provided are my own.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I’ve read this series from the start and was looking forward to reading this, the last book.

The book can be read as a standalone but, would I recommend reading them in order.

In this book we read about what happened in Fizz’s past. The story is also about Sam and Josh who are awaiting their first child and everyone getting ready for Christmas.

There was some very sensitive topics covered in this book, like child abuse, animal abuse, PTSD, pregnancy and grief amongst others. These are a part of the story, so that you can enjoy it even more.

I couldn’t put it down once I started.

Thank you Jessica for taking us on this journey to Hedgehog Hollow, and showing us how to look after hedgehogs. I have absolutely loved reading this series.

Whilst it’s sad this series has ended, and we’re saying goodbye to the characters. I feel that Sam’s story has reached a perfect end.

I highly recommend this series.

Welcome to Borrow-a-bookshop in Clove Lore: where vacationers can bed and breakfast in the local bookshop for a week and run the store and cafe. (What a dream). Enter Magnús, ex-bookshop owner who’s family booked him a week at the bookshop to help heal his loss of both his bookshop and girlfriend, who found him boring (um, rude). Just as he’s settled in, a heartbroken woman shores up on Clove Lore, ahead of an impending storm. Alex has just (and I mean just) left her apartment and town following catching her boyfriend and BEST FRIEND together. To add to the heartbreak, just as Magnús and Alex begin to kindle a healing flame between them, a flood ravages the town and leaves its residents devastated. Can Magnús and Alex and their work to heal themselves and each other also extend to the town of Clove Lore?

Calling all lovers of:
❄️ Christmas
❤️ Romance (and shedding a few tears)
📖 Books
🥰 Being cozy
🧊 Iceland / England

I’ll be honest (whatever else could I be?!) — I am not a big sappy-romance-trope-happily-ever-after lover.

BUT. I LOVED THIS ROMANCE. I wanted to scrawl several quotes in my journal, start my own borrow-a-bookshop, and move to Iceland because they have amazing Christmas traditions — SUCH AS, everyone gets a book on Christmas Eve and then all spend the evening tucked in and reading. Um, sign me the f up.

It’s a 🥰 (4.5/5) for me — just because Alex and Magnús fell for each other IMMEDIATELY, and I like a little buy in time first (although, as I’ve experienced first hand, when ya know, ya know😘). That being said, I LOVED getting to know the townsfolk and learn about their stories.

It’s a PERFECT cozy Christmas read to curl up on the couch with a steaming cup of hot chocolate. Guaranteed to chase that seasonal depression away STAT. (Oh, and there’s one book before this, AND one already planned for 2023 — so you get at least two more chances to hang out and be in love with Clove Lore. Yes, please). This one is out September 1!!

Even tho this is the last book in the series (and my first!) I wanted to read it! Christmas and hedgehogs? Count me in. This is a lovely novel. Does not require having read the others, as Jessica Redland fills us in along the way. I know I’ll be going back to read the rest.

Samantha and Josh are expecting their first child, keeping the sex a secret until birth! Samantha and Fizz are still caring for most of the ‘residents’ of the hedgehog rescue, which has expanded to include some other critters, such as badgers. It’s a full time job, and though Samantha is planning to take time off after the birth, it’s exhausting trying to be in a late pregnancy and caring for autumn hoglets.

Fizz is still with Yasmine, but their relationship has not progressed the way Fizz would expect. Yasmine still begging off from spending time with friends of Fizz. Fizz loves her job and her time at the Hollow. She’s just unsure about her relationship. There are also the thoughts of a previous ‘relationship’ that continue to haunt her.

There are lots of other characters that are present in this novel with their own stories to fill in. Never a dull moment at this animal rescue with the animals or the people involved. It is the perfect Christmas story about love, facing your fears, and how life doesn’t always hand you the easiest of circumstances.

I fell in love with Hedgehog Hollow. Another place I’d love to move!

What a brilliant, brilliant book! I LOVE this series and this was the perfect end. It wasn’t always easy reading but Jessica Redland writes it so beautifully.

A feel-good romantic comedy for a fun light and cheerful read. Would recommend

I absolutely adore this series! Again we are treated to a faultless and unputdownable read!
Jessica Redland has once again tackled sensitive issues while keeping the series fresh and interesting. It's got a fabulous Christmas twist and leaves you once again totally invested in Sam's journey and what will come meet for her.
An excellent addition to the hedgehog hollow series.

Another good edition to this series. Nice that everyone got happy endings but I agree with the author that Sam has had too much thrown at her in this series. There is some doom and horribleness in every single book. Definitely not a light and airy series. But worth reading

I didn’t realise the Hedgehog Hollow books were part of a series when I first read A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow, but it didn’t matter to the understanding of the story and the characters, and it’s the same with this one. I love Jessica Redland’s work, and combined with Christmas…well, it’s a winner!

Once again, Jessica has seamlessly weaved happiness and light-heartedness with sensitive topics such as child abuse, sexual abuse, violence, animal abuse, divorce, sexuality, grief, relationship breakups, pregnancy, PTSD, childbirth. Listing them all here makes it sound like a tough book to read, but it’s the complete opposite. These topics are touched upon, but not used solely for entertainment purposes, they’re not bigged up, nor are they brushed under the carpet. They’re important components of the book as it makes you appreciate the joy even more.

I do love the bits about the hedgehogs themselves. We used to get hedgehogs in our garden before we had the fence replaced and I used to love coming out in the morning to see them, they were so adorable. Yet, I know very little about them so it was nice to read more about the animals.

I found this one more emotional than the other one I’ve read. And I don’t always mean because it’s sad. Yes, there are sad moments, scary moments, worrying moments, but it’s full of hope, joy and love. Love for the animals, love for friends, love for family, and love for yourself. And it was surprisingly the happier moments that I found the most touching.

As mentioned, I haven’t read the entire series but I have enjoyed the ones I have read. They just seem to have got better and better and I’m sad to see this is the final book in the series. I suppose it has come to a natural conclusion and it may risk losing some of its highlights if it was to be drawn out, so I understand why she’s chosen to finish it here. But it’s been a delight following these characters’ stories. The almost feel like my own friends, my own family.

It’s a real warming, cosy festive delight, a perfect read for cold evenings by the fire.

Now, where do I apply to be Jessica’s friend?

I absolutely adore the gorgeous Hedgehog Hollow series. It was really lovely to get back with the characters of this series and to catch up with what they have all been doing. I adore all the beautiful little hedgehogs as well. This is another wonderful feel good, wonderfully festive book to add to the series and I really enjoyed it.
