*received for free from netgalley for honest review* very cute audiobook, i didn't get to see any artwork besides the cover but im sure the artwork is great as well!
For some reason, this audiobook gave me a lot of peace and serenity. It may be the way it was written (poetically). I will say the only other book that was very much like this one is The Christmas Book Flood, a holiday picture book also out this year.
This was my first experience listening to a children's audiobook, and I was blown away. It took me a while to finally listen to it because I didn't know what to expect. But it was magical! So glad my first experience was a Christmas one.
This audiobook put you in a magical world, which I can only describe as a mix of 'The Polar Express' and 'The Santa Clause' movies. It was warm and cheerful. Full of everything I imagine reading a Christmas book is about.
I can not wait to get the book and listen along with my daughter. This has made me super excited for Christmas... it was that powerful of a book.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the advance listening copy.
This was a great book to add to a seasonal collection. My 4 year old daughter and I enjoyed it together on audiobook. It’s full of signs and symbols of the season. I’ll be picking it up to add to our shelves. Additionally, it would be well suited to be used at home, or in schools when we usually cover an array of holidays and traditions. Im going to be picking up the illustrated copy to add to my shelf!
The audio was fabulous. I will rate it five stars as the messages were good for any age. I obviously had only the cover picture to imagine what the other pictures would be like.would be like..
What a cute book! I'm going to snag a copy for each of my grandbabies for their extra gift this year. I love rhyming picture books and this fits the season so well. Thank you NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
I listened to the audio book. I think I would of like it better if I had the picture book in front of me while listening to it. It was short, had lots of different sounds. Great for smaller children who can’t sit through long books.
A very sweet audio that I listened to with my six year old who said “that was beautiful!”
This definitely made us extra excited for the holiday season!
Thank you Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for the alc in exchange for an honest review.
Adorable story. Listened to the audio book version and the recording was excellent- perfect to accompany a picture book. Perfect as a gift to make holiday memories.
Special thanks to #macmillanaudio #JessRedman #SeasonofLight #netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this as an advanced copy
Short, sweet, and fun, a nice audiobook for a chilly winter day. I listened to the audio version and must now seek the printed one so I can enjoy all of the colorful illustrations that accompany the story. I like the poetic and prose text and thought it lent greatly to the story, allowing the audiobook to have a steady rhythm during the performance.
I wish I could have seen the illustrations for this book, because the text was phenomenal. This book takes readers through all the different traditions of Christmas, in a faith based context. It even talks about children participating in a reenactment of the Nativity Story. This is definitely a great book to add to your Christmas collection!
I received an Advance Readers Copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This in the hardcopy version will make a wonderful present for my grandchildren. I loved listening to the narrator. I am really interested in seeing the illustrations when the book comes out. Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for providing an advanced copy of this book to me
I listened to the audio version of this book. Loved the narrator and the descriptive language. Very easy to visualize and I am looking forward to the hard copy so I can see the images that go with the words. I look forward to sharing this with my 3 and 4 year olds, so we can have open conversation, discussing all the things that make the season special. Not just presents.
From what I gather, this is a picture book. I am sure it would be fantastic with the pairing book. However, I do not have access to it. I will definitely look to purchase the picture book once released.
This is a sweet short book and perfect for the season. I listened to it but I wish I had read it. I will have to get a copy to read to the kiddos. Highly recommend
This book was awesome for my 9 month old granddaughter. It was short and was a good holiday book..
Season of Light by Jess Redman was a great audiobook to go along with the story. I think that this audiobook would need to be accompanied by the physical book to really appreciate the story. I do not mean this in a way that takes away from the audiobook, I just feel that for young ones, the more senses engaged the better.
A beautiful story about the season of giving and I cannot wait to purchase the book because I can only image how beautiful the illustrations are.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute and sweet reminder of what Christmas is really about!
The cover is adorable the the story/reminders were too!
The narration was so well done and her voice was so peaceful and calming. There were also a lot of sound effects that made the story just that much more fun.
This will be a big hit with the little ones this Christmas.
Thanks MacMillan Audio for the chance to listen to this audiobook, it will be available on September 13th!w
