I am not quite sure what to think about Mr. and Mrs. Witch. The characters insta love is a bit much but is expected. The one issues readers might find is the bouncing between the past and the present. It takes the readers out of the main story. Yes, it gives some background at the same time it is directing.
The characters are cute and enjoyable and at best it is perfect for a beach read.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of Mr. & Mrs., Witch.

If you love the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith or if you love Gwenda Bond’s other books as much I do, you definitely need to give this one a try. It’s a paranormal romance between Savannah who is a C.R.O.N.E. (Covert Responses Occult Nightmares) operative and Griffin who is a H.U.N.T.E.R. (Humans Undertaking Nocturnal Terror and Evil Reduction) operative. They fall in love with each other without knowing the other’s identity and make it all the way down the aisle before all hell breaks loose. Don’t worry that’s not a spoiler!

This book is so much fun! Gwenda Bond gives us a sweet romance between a witch and a hunter and once they realize the identity of the other, their love becomes forbidden. I loved that even when they were supposed to hate each other, you could see their chemistry. On top of their romance, my favorite part of the book had to be the supporting cast. The side characters were all so charming and gave both Griffin and Savannah a support system when they needed one. We even get to see some crumbs for a potential other couple who I really hope will get their own book.

The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star book for me was because Griffin and Savvy’s cluelessness was a bit frustrating at times. Probably because we got to see their inner monologues so certain things were predictable to us when the characters still didn’t know for themselves. Overall, this book was a fast paced and fun read filled with action, romance, and some fun side characters.

Thank you so much to the publisher for my copy of this book.
Told in both perspectives of Savvy and Griffin, this is a fun premise of Bewitched meets Mr and Mrs Smith.
Unfortunately I had to DNF this one. I read the first 6-7 chapters and it just wasn’t holding my attention as much as I hoped.

I can definitely see the appeal a fun book like this would bring and I know many other readers will love it.

What can I say about this book, it seriously gave me Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe if that had been paranormal and I loved it.

Imagine finding out you don't know the most important thing about the most important person in your life and then having to come to terms with so much betrayal that it makes you want to shake up the entire world.

Through finding Savy's familiar, Griffin builds a secret room in the basement and thinks they know everything about each other only to realize at the alter... literally that all important alter, that neither of them knows the truth about each other or the past that has formed them.

This story unfolds and embraces the reader with a range of emotions that will have you crying one moment and laughing the next, all while rooting for love to win.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for providing a digital copy of this book.  I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

🧙‍♀️BOOK REVIEW🧙‍♀️

Mr. and Mrs. Witch - Glenda Bond
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️

“Savannah Wilde is a witch, a very powerful one—an identity that only her fellow witches know. Following a whirlwind romance that surprised herself and her family, Savvy is all set to marry the love of her life. But she isn’t the only one with a secret that needs to be kept, even from her soon-to-be husband.

Griffin Carter is a top agent for a clandestine organization that, well, used to primarily hunt witches, but now mainly tries to shut down supernatural threats their own way. He can’t wait to lay his eyes on the woman he’s about to spend the rest of his life with.

As Savvy walks down the aisle to Griffin, the wedding quickly goes from blessed day to shit show when their true identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their factions is putting it mildly. Savvy and Griffin are tasked to take the other out, but when they discover a secret that could take down both of their agencies, they realize the only way to survive is to team up. With assassins hot on their trail, will Savvy and Griffin make it out alive to try again at ‘I do’?”

Ok. Maybe I’m just a sucker for a witchy romance but damn, I loved this book! It had all my favorite elements - romance, rivalry, action! I enjoyed the flashback chapters watching Savvy and Griffin’s relationship grow and definitely enjoyed how they worked together to overcome their differences. The familiars were one of my favorite parts - imagine the cutest animals, who can mask as house pets, with their own fun personalities!

Recommend if you like:
- Witchy romance
- Witty banter
- One night stand turned lover turned mortal enemy turned lover again
- Plot driven
- The cutest familiars
- Friendship and community

This book is ✨out now! ✨

Mr. and Mrs. Witch was a really quick and fun paranormal read! I really enjoyed the play on the Mr and Mrs. Smith angle but with witches and witch hunters. Griffin and Savvy had a really fun love story and I definitely liked watching it play out. Now if we could get a Brie and Diego book that would be amazing.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley, Gwenda Bond, and St. Martians Press for gifting me a copy of Mr. & Mrs. Witch in return for my honest opinion.

4/5 stars

Savy and Griffen have fallen in love and at their wedding secrets are uncovered, that threaten their lives. Both are part of secret organizations that are tasked with tracking down and eliminating the others kind. Savy is a witch and Griffen is part of an organization that hunts them down. The only way for them both to survive is to hunt the other down or join up together to kill the assassins sent to kill them.

When I first read this book's blurb, my first thought was that this sounds like Mr. and Mrs. Smith! I loved that movie and I was happy that the book didn't disappoint. I loved the supernatural aspect of the retelling and throwing in some romance and it was an enjoyable read. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the witty dialogue was a bonus. I read it in one sitting and it was a fun action-pack read. If you like fantasy romances then this is the book for you.

A magical version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Lots of action, love, laughs and misunderstandings leading to chaos. Overall, it's an enjoyable and quick read.

I voluntarily agreed to read and honestly review this book.
Oh my Goddess! I got such a Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe from this story. (A movie I loved by the way.) Savannah (aka Savvy) is a witch and Griffin is a H.U.N.T.E.R., which means that they are on opposite sides of the supernatural world. But they fall in Love with each other while keeping their secrets from each other. The story goes back and forth between the Past and the Now, so we find out how they met and what is happening to them in the present. This story is the best I’ve read that includes Romance, Action, Adventure, and Paranormal

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and Gwenda Bond for allowing me to read and review this book.

This books is extremely well written with characters you will absolutely love. We have dual POV with the two main characters, Savvy and Griffin- with a fun, surprising POV from Paris the familiar. We also have two timelines, now and how the two met.

There is magic, passion, friends, comedy, betrayal, and everything else you want in a great fantasy romance.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a romance between a witch and a witch-Hunter. I would also recommend this book to anyone who loves the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith but also wants some magic mixed in.

This book was such an enjoyable read! It starts with Savannah and Griffin madly in love, walking down the aisle to get married. And then PLOT TWIST, just before saying "I Do," they learn that they are mortal enemies. She is a witch, and he is a witch hunter. Along with a motley crew of friends and family (and a capybara!!!), these two take us on a wild ride! Will they kill each other, or will they overcome all the obstacles thrown their way? Kudos to the author for this entertaining tale! I had so much fun reading this one. I loved all of the quirky characters and the imaginative storyline. Its fast pace kept me hooked and reading late into the night. I adored the connection between Savvy and Griffin and found myself hoping for the elusive happily ever after. This book will be an excellent reading choice if you love witchy and paranormal romance.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley, for an advanced reader copy of this delightful book.

A good supernatural romance novel is something I always love. Add in Savannah with her wit, and crazy friends, and it was truly a great read. The characters make this novel. Even when they are fighting for their life, they are sure to banter, and I just loved getting to know them all. Griffin, with all his love of books and history, was especially someone I liked because I could relate. I loved that he was a professor, and a historian, and it helped him in his fight against the supernatural.
The plot itself is interesting. I couldn’t quite guess what the ultimate plan was until closer to the middle/end of the novel, which is something I always enjoy. I appreciate it when an author can surprise me. The flashbacks slow the story down just enough to give us time to learn about the characters, how they met, and who they really are to each other. I think it is a great way for us to watch their story unfold, as they find that love wins against all odds in the present.
The magic, and tech, within this novel is a ton of fun as well! Savvy is powerful, and as you learn about her and her coven, we get to see more and more magic. I loved the brooms (POCKET brooms? I mean, come on that’s awesome! Also – another reason women should always have pockets!) and the wands. That witches could do magic without the wands, and that wands just made them more powerful was a great take. Magic has rules within this world, and though it’s never explicitly explained, it’s easily understood. There are also familiars, which may be one of my favorite parts of the book (a monkey, giant cats, horses, ravens, and more!). The familiars’ own abilities added a great deal to the book, and the witches abilities themselves. I enjoyed the fact that they weren’t all cats, or something else we have come to always expect.
Overall, this book was a great, and quick, read. I think it’s well set up for a second one following some of the other characters, and I look forward to it.

Savannah is ready to marry the love of her life, Griffin, but she's keeping a massive secret from him: she's a powerful witch. Griffin's also keeping a secret: he's part of an organization that used to hunt witches, but now shuts down supernatural threats. Everything's okay though, until their wedding day when both of their identities are revealed to each other...and they're ordered to take the other out.

‌What I liked the most about Mr. and Mrs. Witch was that the book truly flew by (no pun intended)! I didn't want to put it down and I could easily see it becoming a series.

What I didn't like about it was...SPOILER WARNING....they came back together really quickly after being discovered and I would have liked for that to have been drawn out a little bit more. Maybe I wanted a little bit more of a fight or anger between them? But they seemed to forgive each other pretty quickly. It worked out overall within the novel, but I could have gone for another chapter of trying to figure it out.

If I had seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith, then I would definitely recommend this book for someone who loved this movie...but I haven't seen that movie so I have no idea if that's accurate. However, if you love contemporary rom coms and contemporary witch books, you'll enjoy this one.

It's a Mr. and Mrs. Smith with magic, and not as much of a pre-established romance/relationship. Overall, it was good, but the rivalry between the two didn't really make that much sense as their agencies were in direct opposition that at least one of them would know who the other was. I enjoyed the world-building of the agencies and the history of how they came to be. The main characters were a bit job defined so their personalities didn't shine through much. It's enjoyable but not my favorite.

The premise of this book was so cute, and the witchy vibes were great! The cover is fantastic. Overall, this was a super fun read. The characters were entertaining, and I absolutely loved the familars.
It was a magical, wild ride all the way through. I really enjoyed reading this book and will be adding more books by Gwenda Bond to my tbr.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mr. & Mrs. Witch felt like Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets the lovable magical comedy of Bewitched. The actual romance and interaction between our main characters lived up to the premise presented in the book's blurb. It all started to fall apart for me in the flashbacks. They felt a bit chaotic, and they always interrupted the action in a way that made me just want to get back to the moments between Griffin and Savannah.

This was a cute romance with a supernatural take on the Mr and Mrs. Savvy and Griffin, unfortunately, find out the truth about each other on their wedding day which leads to chaos, confusion and assassination attempts. A witch cannot marry a hunter but Savvy and Griffin can't bring themselves to hurt each other either. their instinct in a fight is to protect each other from those who are trying to kill them.
The side characters are fun and I loved the familiars in the story.
The story jumped timelines a lot so the reader gets to see how the couple met and fell in love. The mystery part didn't really hold my attention that well but there was a lot of drama and action that entertained me all the way to the conclusion.

Not one of my favorite romance reads. I do love witchy reads this one fell a little flat for me personally at points. It was a good read it just was a book I honestly was easily able to put down and pick back up again when I had the time,

I loved the premise and the story and the characters and the magic in this book. However, I did struggle with the first-person present tense storytelling. The story kept me reading, but it did take about the first 1/3 of the book for me to settle in to full enjoyment. I do hope to see a Brie and Diego book in the future.
