Perfectly decent book, with many age-old qualities, about a snowflake that wants what the other snowflakes don't – a humble, loving place of warmth and friendship, as opposed to gaudiness and flash. It's a fable that can be read several ways, not least as it can be seen as a seasonal book ending with a life's sacrifice. Lovely art shows the serenity of it all, and the tiny bit of good the snowflake brings when it finally finds joy is a lesson to many. A strong four stars.
This was a cute book. I read it with my 4 year old. He was engaged with the pictures. The longer pages he did want to go a little faster.
Unsure about end format, but this was not conducive to reading on an iPhone.
Thank you to NetGalley, North South Books, Inc and Bernadette Watts for allowing us to read this advance ecopy of the book.
Loved the pictures, they were very vivid and detailed. Very cute story! My daughter would love this book. I would recommend it.
A beautiful and cozy little story set in the heart of winter that follows a little snowflake and her dream to be warm. I loved the illustrations throughout this book, they're done with such care! The Smallest Snowflake is easily a winter classic for kids to read each year.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and NorthSouth Books for providing me with a copy for an honest review.
Adorable little story about a snowflake finding her way in the world, but the real treat here are the beautiful illustrations. Loved readying this one with my own "little snowflake."
A charming little book about the unique life of snowflakes and is filled with beautiful artwork throughout.
