After a cliff hanger ending in the first book this mystery family drama continues. The wealthy powerful father who built up the Castle hotel empire calls two of his children to meet with him. The next morning he is found dead in his office. Suspicion falls quickly to Alex and there's pressure from her father’s powerful friends for an arrest and indictment to happen quickly. This soap opera type story is pulse pounding and the book continues procedurally following Alex through arrest, booking and making a new friend when in lock up. Alex is in a brand new relationship with Tyler and that is the main thing sustaining her. And they turn to a new attorney and an old friend to investigate privately trying to clear her name.

I’m not sure if this series will be ongoing as everything is resolved and answered neatly. But the characters are great as is the attention to details. I think you need to read Despite Chaos (the previous book) to understand Alex and Tyler’s relationship and to get background on the other characters.
