This was a good book however not necessarily my style however I did have fun reading it and really loved it can't wait to read more
I loved this book I like how she owns her sexuality and it looks like it will actually be a series that actually has the girl love interest be as important as the males and is as hot. It is a slow burn romance but is extremely hot both the male and female parts I can’t wait to get further along in the series. Now the story line has plenty of mystery and leaves you wondering and guessing about how this will all play out and who her parents were and the curse ties into her past and definitely has me waiting on the next book in the series
Absolutely yes! I really enjoyed reading this novel. The characters were fun, it held my interest, and provided an escape from reality. I would definitely recommend!
I loved this story. It has everything an academy read needs to have such as entitled fae brats and magic. The characters were realistic but I don't care for most of them. I liked how everyone got to tell their stories. I thought it was a fascinating read.

This book is absolutely fantastic. You're immediately drawn to the characters and their plights. Nerys does not know what type of fae she is, she attends the fae university to make her mom happy. Throw in smoldering hunks and one peach gold haired vixen and you have fireworks. Fans of Harry Potter will love this one. It's like HP in a polyamory and hellish way. It's a one sitting read. This is book one so it ends on a cliffhanger but hopefully we won't have to wait too long for part two.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for allowing me to read and review this book. I am really a sucker for anything fantasy and fae, so I knew I was going to enjoy this book. In this book, we have a feisty, purple haired MC, who is really strong willed and relatable to the reader. One thing that really sets this book apart from others especially today, is the diversity portrayed, which for me, is very important in the books I am reading - from the characters social status within the school/world, their ethnicity, their variety of looks, and sexual orientation - there is a lot of diversity and representation to be appreciated. For the first book in the series, it contained a perfect amount of world building, internal dialogue, spice 🥵, and most importantly, the ending left some open ended aspects to keep the reader invested in the next book (what a cliffhanger!). Excited to read the next one! I personally would have rated this about a 3,75/5 ⭐️, however since it’s full stars on Netgalley, I’m bumping it up to 4/5! ⭐️
Of Fae and Hate by QUIRAH CASEY
Book one in the Of Fae and Hate Series.
Read if you like
MM and FF content
Poly/Harem relationship
Some dark content such as knives, blood and primal play
Novella series
What a fantastic start to the series, even though there was so much going on in the first book, all the characters were introduced quickly. There were literally no boring parts and there was certainly no time to think and I was able to read the book within a day.
Nerys comes to Nadouraz Academy, a special school strictly for Fae, but does Nerys belong to a school where she isn’t even sure if she is a Fae? A curse is linked to four other Fae, three of which she hates and one could be a demon that came from the pits of hell.
There is a diverse variety of faes in this book such as witches, vampires, and shapeshifters just to name a few.
The relationships in this book are simple yet complex, like you understand who is with who but you get the feeling that you don't know why they are together or what's keeping them apart at the same time.
I love the female heroine in this story Neryssa or Nerys for short. I love how Quirah uses Nerys to describe the visual representation of her surroundings, we learn about people (Fae) and layout of the school. I love that she isn’t scared of things and she has this sassy aura around her. It’s as if she uses it to get what she wants.
And Fox and Brynsyn oh gosh- I have no words except 🥵🔥🥵🔥🥵🔥 I think that just about covers it. Maybe a few more 🥵🔥🥵🔥
I look forward to the other books in the near future, so I can explore the characters in more detail, and learn about their backstories. But in the meantime I'll go back and read the prequel to learn more about Soskia and Alik’s relationship. 😍
Thank you to Quirah Casey, Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for the digital copy of Of Fae and Hate for reviewing purposes.
Will have you flipping pages and gripping the edge of your seat!! I could not put it down!!!! Wonderful, exciting paranormal read.
The main character in Of Fae & Hate is Neryssa Edirac and I love love love her unapologetic attitude of not wanting to be at the academy and being happy to fail out if that means she can leave. Casey does an amazing job balancing Neryssa's rebel attitude with a warm heart: she cares about people, she cares about her mom, she likes having friends, but she just isn't pining to be what everyone else wants to be.
Neryssa is the daughter of an important and powerful Fae, but no one is sure what kind of Fae she is (or if she even is one). Despite that, she is sent to Nadouraz Academy, an elite academy for supernaturals. If you are familiar with the genre, a lot of elements of Nadouraz are typical: multiple types of supernaturals, class and social hierarchies, mean girls, the elite guys, descriptions of classes and the drama between them and on weekends. Thrown in are some supernatural problems: a curse, mysterious powers, and secrets that could cause problems.
Non-typical elements which make Of Fae & Hate stand out: a diverse cast of characters (in multiple ways! race/ethnicity, social class, culture, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, etc. and it all feels natural/just part of the story), FF love interests, and multidimensional adult characters.
There are so many elements of this book that I really enjoyed: Neryssa as a character, how the sexual tension and steamy scenes are written (really hot!), how the introduction into the world is written (many authors could learn a thing or two from Casey on how to write a character new to a supernatural world, but who isn't clueless about the world in general), the teachers who are real characters, believable secondary characters, and more.
However, I rated the book 2 out of 5 stars because the writing just wasn't consistent, and kept interrupting the story for me. Some of the scenes are great, but some are not good and for me brought the rating down. The book has a ton of potential, and I think some additional work could have made this a 4 or 5 star read for me.
Overall, I don't recommend Of Fae and Hate, but I will try Casey's next book because there is so much potential here and so many excellent elements.
Great start to a series interesting characters and great world building. I can't wait for the next book.
Wow so this went into a totally different direction than I expected . We meet Ner who has no idea what type of fae she is and is not really bothered by that until her mother enrols her into a magic academy where everything starts to spiral. I expected a why choose instead we got a really interesting new adult paranormal thriller that ended on an intriguing cliffhanger . So many questions who can we trust and when will we get a book 2.
3.75 star
I loved this book so much. The characters are so amazing. I am not sure if I should love or hate the main characters there are a few I am just not sure about. Fox I am intrigued by. I felt like I was in the book experiencing the story line. I can't wait for the next book to come out I need to know what happens.
