This one instantly hooked me from the beginning with an elusive mystery. I was hook, line, and sinker. The mystery is so good that you ache to solve it, but Landay put this together as if you were doing a 5000 piece puzzle. It is not a fast page turner, but a slow burn. The multiple POVs give you a chance to know the characters intimately, ultimately making you care very deeply about the children who lost their mom. The end will make your jaw drop and was in my opinion the perfect way for it to end. Enjoy!!
Beautifully written, well developed and memorable characters, intrigue and mystery…just a well done novel.

First of all, that cover and title are phenomenal! This story almost had a true crime feel, a mother gone missing in 1975… what happened? Alternating pov and great character development. The way the story is written makes it a slow burn. I really enjoyed this psychological thrill ride. What happened to the Larkin family???
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. As a fan of psychological thriller novels, this one was a good read. A little slow to get into but entertaining all the way through. Bouncing between past and present to solve where did the missing mother go, it made you want to keep reading.
The one thing I did not like was the lack of chapters and each portion of the book being long. It can get hard to keep track and there was no good stopping point by chapter as the sections are very long. Just a preferenxe though.
My first book from this author and now have to go back an read his popular previous novel. Recommend!
This is such a good book! It had me guessing until the very end. The character growth is great, to see how Miranda and Jeff both grow up and change through the years, with some parts heartbreaking to read. The long awaited book from Mr. Landay did not disappoint! Edited to add- the rating for this is 4.5, the only reason it didn’t get 5 was because I needed more from the ending! I still had questions when the story ended.
All That Is Mine I Carry With Me is the unsettling story of the Larkin family, and centers around the disappearance of wife and mother Jane, who’s unlikeable attorney husband is immediately seen as a prime suspect. Told in alternating POVs from all the family members, the story follows the three Larkin children as they grow older and continue to grapple with their mother’s disappearance as well as their loyalty to their father, and those loyalties are divided. Told masterfully with gripping dialogue and plenty of twists, this is a spellbinding mystery that touches on many topics as new evidence forces the Larkin family to choose sides. Well done! I received an arc of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was very excited to receive an advance copy of Landry‘s new book. I loved defending Jacob. His new book did not disappoint. I really like the style of writing, getting each characters point of view. And held my interest to the very end. I will certainly recommend this to friends and family. He is a proven author.
4 1/2 stars if I could rate it as such - Beyond any other offering that I received to review, receiving this eARC from Netgalley was an honor and a privilege. I have followed William Landay as a friend in Goodreads since before Defending Jacob was published, and couldn't wait to read what he wrote next. This novel is interesting, as above all anything this author writes is both captivating and thrilling, but it is a bit unique if you are looking for a clear cut answer to the mystery of why a loving mother disappeared from her home one day, leaving behind only memories as her former husband, who has been having an all-consuming affair at the time, didn't hesitate to move on. Seeing this tragedy and mystery from numerous points of view was interesting, however if you are accustomed to the "big reveal" where all loose ends in a novel are accounted for (and justice, at some level is obtained) this novel might cause you a bit of frustration. That said, it is well worth reading, just be prepared that this is not your basic formulaic thriller; but we're we really expecting anything formulaic from this amazing author? He writes beautifully and draws you in as few author's can, and I will read (and enjoy to the fullest) anything this talented author pens. Keep 'em coming! Your fans are loyally waiting!
Thank you again to Random House for reaching out to me about this book. I was a huge fan of Defending Jacob so I was excited to read ATIMICWM. I appreciated the way this was written with many different viewpoints, however they were all separated. Some books with multiple viewpoints jumping back and forth are harder to follow, so this writing style used was easier to follow. This story is heartbreaking regarding a missing woman and a broken family that van not repair deep wounds. I wished for a darker ending for one of the characters as I really hated him, however understand how it all played out in the best way. My heart broke for Miranda as I also suffer from depression and I appreciated how her depression effects were portrayed. My only frustration was the lack of quotation marks when conversations were portrayed, I found it hard to follow who was saying what at some points. Highly recommend All That Is Mine I Carry With Me to fans of legal thrillers.
I absolutely loved Defending Jacob, so I was super excited to see a new William Landay novel!
Truthfully, All That Is Mine I Carry With Me felt like a very big mess.
It's broken down into four "books," each told from the perspective of a different narrator. The first book was from an author/journalist (maybe?), written in the first person, so it took me quite a while to figure out that it wasn't some introduction from Landay. Not only are they different perspectives, it's also a different writing style for each one. As soon as you get used to one, you get thrown to another character.
The book had a decent twist at the end, but it still felt unresolved.
I was disappointed with this one.
Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.
I have been (not so) patiently for a new William Landay novel for years. Finally, All That Is Mine I Carry With Me was released! It is more of a literary novel than a mystery in my opinion. Of course, Landay’s writing is outstanding and this story sucked me right in. I really enjoyed the story. There are several different narrators in this book. The book is divided into long sections not shorter chapters. Overal this was a great read but the end felt a little lacking. This did not take away from the overall feel of the book though. Thanks to Net Galley and the bot publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I really wanted to get into this book because I've enjoyed previous books by the author, but I had to put this one down after a few pages. I was really confused by the back and forth between time periods and couldn't tell them apart. Also the story felt non-fiction at times and I couldn't tell if the author was talking about his character or himself at times. I'm bummed I didn't get into it but I hope another reader enjoys it
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book and share my honest review. Excellent book which kept you hooked throughout. A few likable characters and some really difficult ones as well. The ending was a shocker. Loved to say more but don’t want to give spoilers. Definitely recommend though!!

All That Is Mine I Carry With Me is a gripping tale of a family unraveling when a woman disappears and her prominent lawyer husband is suspected (but never charged) of her disappearance or death. Told over a period of multiple decades and from the perspectives of multiple characters, I was fully vested in this story and there were some surprises that kept me guessing until the end.
I enjoyed William Landay’s previous novel ‘Defending Jacob’ so I was thrilled to get an ARC of this new novel coming out in 2023. The book was gripping, I could not put this down. Told in multiple POV’s from the family members of a missing woman - it was captivating. The beginning of the book felt like a slow burn, a build up to the thrill of getting close to figuring out what had happened. At times, it felt like I was solving a puzzle. The storytelling was also beautifully executed as I felt a lot of emotions: heartbreak, angry, confused, frustrated, surprised and more! The ending blew me away. I highly recommend this read! Thank you to Random House | Bantam and Net Galley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked how it was divided into "books". Plodding right along, enjoying the read and then the second "book" started and took it up a notch, a big notch. I really liked how this book was written. I read a lot of books but this one surprised me. Loved the twists and the superb ending.
I really enjoyed Defending Jacob, the author's first novel, but this one was very difficult to get into. The way he writes about women didn't really do it for me.
William Landay's newest novel All That Is Mine I Carry With Me is a compelling, funny, heart wrenching novel about a wife and mother who mysteriously disappears. Her husband is the most likely suspect but the only evidence is circumstantial, much to the disappointment and frustration of her sister Kate who is convinced that Dan is guilty. Their children, however, don't know what to believe. The oldest son Alex seems convinced that their father is innocent while his younger siblings are pretty certain that he's done something terrible and - maybe even worse than that - gotten away with it.
There is no better storyteller than Landay and the depth of his characters is unparalleled. This story is told from alternating perspectives and each one is more poignant and revealing than the next.
