Loved the movie, and the graphic novel was good too! Not my favorite ever, but it was enjoyable. I felt like the story was too similar to the movie, which made it feel pointless to read as I had already watched the movies.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Enola is a delightfully modern young woman. She is smart, efficient, independent, and fierce. I love her attitude and her ability to dodge her domineering older brothers. The theme of abandonment by her mother is revolting, and the ending letter communicates ideals that as a mother I would not want my children to adopt. Other than that, I adored this book.
Fun and evocative addition to a stunning series. Enola is challenged in unexpected ways and has to learn how to be extra creative.
I really enjoyed it!
Highly recommended.
I'm so grateful that the Enola Holmes graphic novels exist! I work at a library and many of my young readers have watched and loved the Netflix movies with Millie Bobbie Brown, but don't yet have the confidence to tackle the original source material yet. That's where these brilliant adaptations come in! These bring to life Enola and her adventures in such a delightful way! I highly recommend them even if you haven't read the books or seen the movies! They capture the spirit of Enola with the gorgeous artwork and to the point scripts!
Having watched the Enola Holmes movies recently, I thought that I would check out the graphic novels. And I'm so glad that I did! This was so great! if you are a fan of mysteries, spunky female leads, and adventure then you should one-hundred percent check out this series.
‘Enola Holmes: The Graphic Novels: The Case of the Peculiar Pink Fan, The Case of the Cryptic Crinoline, and The Case of Baker Street Station’ by Nancy Springer and adapted by Serena Blasco is a graphic novel with the Sherlock Holmes sibling.
The three cases in this volume involve a woman in an arranged marriage, one that has been kidnapped and one that has disappeared. Along the way there are codes to crack, appearances by Mycroft and Sherlock and even Florence Nightingale makes an appearance. Enola’s mother is still missing, and her brothers still don’t know what to do with Enola.
The adventures are great and I love the addition of the codecraft at the end of each story. The setting and characters are great and the mysteries aren’t bad. The art isn’t completely to my liking but it’s not bad.
An excellent addition to such a fabulous series of stories. I wish I had these as a girl, but I am thrilled to share these stories with my daughter as well. I highly recommend this graphic novel for both young children with inquisitive minds as well as any adults that enjoyed watching the films, get to know the character more while we wait for more films in the series based on the fantastic books.
Ebola Holmes continues to delight! If you’re a fan of literary sleuths like Sherlock Holmes and always find yourself looking for Agatha Christie at a bookshop, you’ll love to read these with your family. The graphic novel is wonderfully illustrated and very engaging. Bonus for humor and the bold, resourceful role model in Enola.
Once again, I was blown away with how beautiful this book is! Reading on kindle/kobo doesn't do it justice - the colours and the art work are just gorgeous. It can take a little to get over the fact that Enola is a young teen living and running a business on her own in Victorian London, but once you ignore that fact, the mysteries are fun and her antics are very enjoyable.
I especially like the little bits of her "casebook" in between each of the mystery stories, explaining little bits that have cropped up like codes/ciphers and the art of passing messages using your fan. Definitely one worth reading in paper form, I think!
I am a fan of the Enola Holmes series! These graphic novels are a fun way to revisit these series! The format was much shorter with compelling dialogue and beautiful artwork! This series is a must read for fans of graphic novels!
I hadn’t realised this was for kids when i requested it….but i still really enjoyed it! I will recommend to friend’s children for sure, and would definitely buy it for kids of my own
I had a hard time putting this graphic novel down. Enola is back and ready to solve three new cases. They aren’t easy but she won’t have to do them alone. Her brother ends up helping her a bit which brings them closer together. Yet as the last case is closed these siblings receive news that takes them all by surprise.
Fun graphic novel for young readers and adults! Lots of action and adventure. Beautiful, colorful artwork. I can see this going over well with the middle grade readers in my library.
Another delightful collection!
Continue following girl detective Enola Holmes' adventures in London, featuring cameos by Mycroft, Watson, and Sherlock Holmes himself. The whimsical tales continue in this collection containing graphic novels 4, 5, and 6. Although the artwork appears to change ever-so slightly between each volume, the character art remains the same.
Full of disguises, danger, intrigue, and mystery- this is an excellent addition to any Enola Holmes fan's collection.

A lovely adaptation of the fascinating stories around Enola Holmes. The narrative is almost seamless and it’s a delight to watch the mystery unfold through the vivid artwork. The action translates surprisingly well into a graphic novel format and the pace of the narrative is absorbing as well.
Serena Blasco’s artwork bring humour and verve to the already fun Enola Holmes books. There’s much charm, too, as Enola dons disguises and sleuths her way through London, all the while thwarting her brothers’ attempts to apprehend her and shove her into an awful, constricting boarding/finishing school.
The collection covers Enola 4, 5 and 6, with gorgeous watercolour-like illustrations, humour, and beautifully conceived disguises sported by the intrepid lead.
I love what Blasco has done with the books, and though I’ve read the books, Enola’s mother’s letter really hit me hard this time, bringing tears to Enola’s (and my) eyes.
This, and the previous one, is definitely a collection worth checking out.

This was ok but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped, The style of the graphics just didn’t grab my attention as much as others so I didn’t enjoy the book as I might have
I've read a couple of the Enola Holmes books, but not the 3 these graphic novels are based on. I adore Enola and the artwork is absolutely gorgeous. The stories are good if not completely believable. Her journal at the end of each are outstanding.
I have been reading Enola Holmes since middle school, and I am so excited to see her getting the love and attention she deserves with the Netflix movies. This graphic novel remains true to the original series (which, IMO, is the better series) while inserting its own charm.
I enjoyed this beautiful, charming graphic novel containing Enola Holmes’ fourth, fifth, and sixth cases. The colorful, whimsical art suits the story. Although Enola’s three cases are presented simply in a manner suitable for middle grade readers (with some challenging vocabulary), I still found them entertaining. I appreciate stories depicting female agency in a way that is respectful of different women’s lifestyle choices. It was fun to see Enola at work in all of her disguises, and I especially loved the pages from her secret notebook.
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys whimsical watercolors and mysterious adventures involving young protagonists. It’s a very sweet, clean story that should be enjoyable for a wide audience.
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with an ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.
