Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book.
I could not put this book down. I am obsessed with this trope and the plot was so spot on. I have thought about this book for days since finishing it. Highly recommend to anyone.
I liked the premise of this book, where two child stars reconnect later in life for a reboot of the show they used to star in together. However, the execution of the book was lackluster. The pacing never felt quite right, and I wanted more relationship development between MCs Ransom and Liv. I was disappointed that it was closed door, because who doesn't want details on a sexy celebrity in the bedroom?! Why do they think I am reading this???
Overall, i just felt mediocre.
I really enjoyed this book. I love a good second chance romance, while it was light and sweet I did find it to be a little slow for me.
This was a solid book - a little slow for me to start, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. The premises was cute and it was a light, quick read. Kayla Olson is a very talented writer who really grabbed my attention with this book.
Who doesn’t love a reboot of their favorite childhood tv show?
This novel portrays just that. We follow Liv, an actress who is reunited with her co-star and unrequited love, Ransom, as they film their show’s reboot. Ransom made it clear back then that they were nothing more than best friends. Will filming together again be the push they need to fall head over heels in love or will it prove to them their relationship was nothing more than an on-screen romance?
I love the plot and their shared history. It allows the reader a glimpse into their past and what could have been. It helps make the relationship more believable.
However, I still had a hard time connecting to their romance since we didn’t see much of it on page. There was more of a focal point of filming the reboot, but since the readers don’t know anything about the show in the first place, it seemed like too much filler information.
I did find the characters to be extremely well written and had a great time seeing all their personalities shine. If there was a bit more romance and less behind the scenes of a show I didn’t know much about, this had the potential of being a favorite. Thus, I think this book is a solid 3 stars and would recommend it if you’re new to the romance genre or just want a book with solid character dynamics.
This is an adorable, cozy book that will make you smile and maybe even tear up a little bit.
Liv was the lead of an acclaimed teen TV show and as with anything, things were more complicated behind the scenes. 14 years later they're doing a reunion episode and a lot of things from the past have to be confronted including her relationship with her onscreen love interest and real life best friend Ransom. When the show ended, so did they. Liv never really got over it, and now is a chance for them to clear the air and be honest with each other. It goes as you expect, but that's the best thing about romance. You know people will get where they need to be.
I loved the underlying theme of fame and media in this - there's no judgment or no belief in their being a right way to handle fame, and so much focus on the individual characters and their needs and beliefs. In a way, Ransom's story was more empowering than Liv's because he came a lot further by the end, and part of it was inspired by being around Liv again, who truly saw him.
This was the perfect balance of sweet and intriguing, and I immediately had to watch my favorite nostalgia show.
This was such a cute book! I read it all in one sitting. I loved it!

What an absolute comfort read!!!
The entire time I was reading The Reunion, all I could think about were all of the reunion shows and interviews we have had lately.
Liv has been secretly in love with her costar Ransom since they were teenagers but have been estranged since the show ended. Now that they are coming back for a reunion and possible reboot of the show, things are starting to feel differently between the two of them. The two must deal with a lot of misunderstanding and of course the dreaded paparazzi to figure out how they truly feel about one another.
This book has one main point of view from Liv's side as well as hints of what is happening on social media and gossips news sites as a separate point of view. We also see some miscommunication and friends-to-lovers as well. This book will truly give you all the feels.
This was an enjoyable read about a cast of actors that reunite after 20 years. I am a fan of the multiple POV,I love getting to know all characters a little more deeper. Liv and Ransom used to be close, but drifted away. I love a good Hollywood story. This was a slow burn romance. This is a great beach read. This reminded me a bit of Beverly Hills 90210. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Reunion by Kayla Olson from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinions. This book had my favorite show's from the 90's vibes - Melrose Place and 90210. I thought this was a really fun read and kept my attention all the way through. We all need a happy book to read with all that is going on in the world anymore and this is it!

This was...fine? To be honest, something felt like it was missing from making this book better than it was. The characters felt like they needed some more development, and it was a tad predictable. It was a really fast read, but it left me feeling unsatisfied.
Former teen stars reconnect at a reunion special 20 years later. Old flames but now estranged Liv and Ransom find out if they can reconnect after everything that has happened behind the scenes. I love a one is famous storyline but both were child actors made this a bit different. Lots of history but to be honest it was a bit lackluster. Had a hard time finishing it. Liked the concept but wasn’t fully invested in the characters.
Fun concept- we all have those shows that we grew up on and then they have a 20-year reunion or magazine article, well this is the vibe it gives for me.
The reunion brings these 2 main characters back together. They were child stars when they started working together, and became best friends while working, but then a few things changed making them estranged adults who were no longer in each other's lives. Now seeing each other again and realizing that they have changed quite a bit but their feelings and chemistry for each other are def still there.
Liv & Ransom - 2nd chance trope between these two
Will they be friends again and stay in each other's life, will hearts be broken again or will they work out their feelings and stay together this time?!?!?! Only time will tell.
This was a fun romantic read.
I really enjoyed the added gossip column additions in between the character, this was sooo fun.
This book def has you connected to these 2 stars and cheering their relationship on even when it has some stressful or slow moments, and you wanna yell at them to get it together lol
I was able to read this ARC thanks to the publisher and NetGalley and am thankful for this opportunity. The review/opinion above is my own, honest, and voluntary.
3 stars!
This was cute but between this novel and How to Fake it in Hollywood I don't think the "fame" trope is for me. I thought this would be more of a second chance romance and it was, but part of what I love about second chance is how long it takes for the characters to reconcile that they want to be back together. Instead I felt like Liv and Ransom were just a little too insta lovey. I know its bad to say a romance book is too predictable, but this one truly was just too predictable.

I don’t know if it was just a reading slump or if it was the book but it didn’t really mesh with me. I think the main couple lacked the chemistry I was hoping for. I will definitely give the author another try but this wasn’t for me.
When the cast of Girl on the Verge reunite for a reunion special, Liv and Ransom discover the chemistry they shared in teens is still there.
This was a quick read. I like the second chance romance and the Hollywood setting, but it was missing something to make me love it.
This book was good but not great. When I read the blurb I thought it was going to be an angsty story about second chances but it didn't have much to it's plot and the romance wasn't really believable I think the author relied too much on telling us how these two characters were meant to be instead of showing us. The chemistry wasn't palpable or visible.
It has a good premise but could have been so much more with a bit more drama and angst.
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the advance copy!
I enjoyed reading the story about Liv and Ransom. Two actors that practically grew up together on screen. They're brought back together for a cast reunion and that would have been fine but they hadn't spoken to each other in years.
Sometimes feelings don't ever get resolved or ever go away and sometimes it takes a wakeup call to realize what's been there all along.
Living life under a spotlight isn't all that it's cut out to be... Especially when it comes to having a personal life and relationships.
I just loved ‘The Reunión’ by Kayla Olson! Six POV’s had me a bit nervous at first as I’m not usually a fan of multiple POV book, but this sounded so good I had to give it a shot, and it absolutely did not disappoint and was not hard to keep up with at all. It was emotional, funny, full of drama, and super sweet. Highly recommend!
I liked this one a lot. I tend to gravitate toward slightly messier romcoms but I enjoyed the hollywood dynamic of this, and thought it was well-written. I think it's a great read for a romcom lover who likes lighter stories with a happily ever after.
