On the one side, I really like Zanetti's writing and this book was also finished in less than three days, on the other I think that to write good detective stories there is no need to look for the plot twist at all costs, but okay, I am not a writer.
Again the characters are Laurel and Hunk and of course the sister who remains in the shadows, but up to a point.
I hope, however, that the next book will bring this arc to conclusion because it seems to me to be getting more and more "stretched out."
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy of You Can Hide. I think this book would have been more engaging if I had read the first book in the series first. Without having read it, I found the characters and relationships felt shallow and unformed. The story was great though and makes me want to go back and read the first book which might change my rating!
Good book! At first it was a little hard for me to get through this book?! The beginning just seemed different from moat of this author work. I wasn't sure if I liked it so I gave it a few dats came back and ended up finishing this book in one sitting! I'm glad I did finish because this book ended up being really good! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and great police work! The storyline was very interesting the beginning threw me off a bit but it ended up being a great book! I will definitely recommend reading this book! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I can’t say enough good things about this series, both books have kept me up late reading until I was finished! If you haven’t read the first book in the Laurel Snow series I would recommend reading it first. You Can Hide begins with Laurel returning to Genesis Valley after a short absence helping solve another case in Washington DC. The gruesome discovery of a mutilated woman’s body shortly after her return puts Laurel and Huck back working together trying to catch a serial killer. I loved the suspense in this book, and how Laurel’s sister plays into the storyline. I also really enjoyed how Laurel and Huck’s relationship is developing. I don’t want to give any spoilers or say too much to give anything away but this one really kept me guessing until the end. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars and now I can’t wait until the next book in the series is out!
Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for the advance copy.
So I’m going back and forth on how to rate this, so 4 1/2 ⭐️ is more appropriate!
I love Laurel and Huck, it’s Laurel’s psycho sister, Abigail, that messes me up… hmm, how appropriate! Laurel as a FBI agent and Huck leading the Fish and Wildlife department in a small Washington town, hunting serial killers, their interactions are perfect and on point.
I also have to state, I love that they are not an instacouple! Don’t get me wrong, I want them together, but Zanetti does great buildup. Also, who knows what Abigail is going to do if these two become an actual couple!
Now, this mystery has everything I love in a mystery. Multiple victims, various locations, a grisly affectation, and twists and turns! Also, everyone is basically a suspect at various points, which is always fun to play with.
Also, the ending isn’t rushed! It’s an actual thought out scenes, with follow up! And hopefully foreshadowing.
I love everything Rebecca Zanetti writes, she is my favorite author and this is the best book I've read in 2022. It is the 2nd in the Laurel Snow series and it is even better than the original. The first book was awesome but it set the stage for an even better follow up. I can't wait for the third. Laurel and Huck are a fantastic team and the fact that he isn't scared off by Laurel's half sister makes me like him even more. I didn't see the killer coming maybe because I was distracted by her super creepy sister, Abigail. I'd want to go into protective custody to get away from that woman. You don't want to miss this book or series, I'm already casting the actors for the major characters in the movie!
The second in Zanetti's Laurel Snow series continues along the theme of the first... turns out there are more serial killers in the remote towns of Washington state then there should be!
The whole cast are back - Laurel, Huck, Aeneas, Kate and her girls and of course Dr. Abigail... as well as the new IT guy the FBI send for the team
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book
I’m too invested in this series to rate anything less than 5/5.
Surprisingly enough, it’s really hard to find decent police work/mystery/thrillers that are good at of those aspects and at the same time have interesting well built characters, great plot flow and also plot twists.
And a decent romance sub plot, let’s don’t forget about that either.
So yeah, I’m hooked and want more can you blame me?
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.
I don’t read many romantic thriller series that focus on the same leads so Rebecca Zanetti’s Laurel Snow Thriller books have been an interesting shift for me.
Visceral books propelled along by their protagonist, the aforementioned Laurel, who has an eidetic memory & is the possessor of numerous degrees, the Laurel Snow series has intrigued me ever since she first arrived home to an isolated part of Washington state, a place where serial killers have recently come out of the woodwork.
In book 2, You Can Hide, FBI agent Laurel & Fish & Wildlife officer Huck work together to solve a new series of violent crimes, all the while dealing with many external challenges (including Huck’s ex & Laurel’s apparently without-a-conscience sister). Relationship-wise, at the beginning of this book the two leads don’t really have a relationship but they do have a history.
You Can Hide delivers a decent mystery & twist & it effectively sets up the next book. While the tension between leads is still there, I didn’t really appreciate how they’ve lost momentum at the beginning of this one & how it happens off page—it feels like a womp womp moment.
If you’re looking for a romantic thriller that doesn’t skimp on the visceral, the shocking, or the keen observations offered by a genius protagonist, you might like the Laurel Snow series.
3.5 ⭐️. Out 11/29.
CW: brutal murders & references to sexual assault. Reference to abusive mother. References to infidelity. References to PTSD. Reference to one of the murder victims having had sex with a minor--according to the book it isn’t technically against Washington State’s law since the minor is 17. Reference to intimate photographs of sexual partners taken without their consent including in the case of the 17 year old.

Another thrilling book by Rebecca Zanetti. Laurel Snow is a Special Agent in Charge in the FBI and is currently in her hometown in the state of Washington. She is working with Huck Rivers from Fish & Wildlife on tracking down a possible serial killer. They had spent a night together during the previous case they worked on together a couple of months ago and are trying to ignore the attraction. There are so many great twists and turns that I could not figure out who the killer was ahead of it coming out near the end of the book.
I received a free copy of this book to review through NetGalley and cannot wait for the next book.
I enjoyed You Can hide. However, not as much as the first book in the series. This storyline was easy to follow and kept you wondering. The Dr. Caine story line isn’t keeping me interested though. I feel like it’s been prolonged for something major to come out of it. I love Huck and Laurel together and their chemistry. I would read the next book in the series just to see if Dr. Caine will be eventually written out or not.
FBI agent Laurel Snow is once more teamed up with Fish & Wildlife warden and sometime lover Huck Rivers, to solve some ritualistic murders of women in their small town.. Both Laurel and Huck have mellowed a bit from their antisocial tendencies and a relationship between them is slowly growing. Laurel's sociopathic sister Abigail is also on hand to try and manipulate Laurel into being more involved in her life.. She has complained about a stalker that she suspects is the murderer. but is she a victim or a perpetrator? The suspense is tight and the characters are as interesting in this second book of the series as they were in the first. A good read.
What an incredible book & series!! I am so happy I discovered this author!! Laurel & Huck along with the adorable Aeneas🐾 are on another serial murder case & trying to catch the killer before anymore women are killed. We also see how their personal & professional relationships evolve. I love these two with all their quirks, they really are made for each other!! Laurel is so likable & not your typical heroine. We still have the crazy Abigail along with the introduction of some new characters. There’s action, suspense, romance, humor & wonderful characters. I can’t wait for the next one to come out!! I received an arc from Netgalley & the publisher for an honest review.
What an incredible story!
I absolutely loved everything about it.
The characters and writing were fantastic, and the storyline was smart, engaging, and intriguing (all the things I love in a suspense-thriller- mystery-romance).
I'm already anxiously anticipating the next book in the series.
I can wait to see how Huck and Laurel's relationship will develop, and what Laurel's half-sister Abigail has planned for her in order to maintain a relationship.
Great story!
I love Rebecca Zanetti’s romantic suspense books and this is no exception. FBI agent Laura and Huck a fish and wildlife captain are back hunting another serial killer. Lots of suspense and a creepy sister. I can’t wait for the next book.
Laurel and Huck are back to hunt down another serial killer in the second book of the Laurel Snow series! Just like the first book, Rebecca kept me wondering until the end who the killer was. I didn't want to put the book down because I was so invested in solving the mystery.
I don't want to give too much detail and accidentally spoil anything, but we do get to see a lot of the secondary characters that were in the first book of the series. I really like Laurel Snow and how logical she is. It is interesting to "hear" her thought process, especially in more social type settings where she is a little awkward. Huck is a grumpy loner who is struggling after a case he had went south a while back. It is fun watching him try to process his interactions with Laurel, who doesn't react like most people, so she throws him off his groove sometimes. I hope we learn more about him in the third book.
I received this book from Netgalley and Zebra in exchange for an honest review.
A roller coaster ride of a book! I love the character of Laurel. She’s wicked smart, has poor people skills but is such an endearing character. Huck is grumpy and prefers his dog over people, but he’s perfect for Laurel. The storyline has twists and turns. I think I know who the serial killer is and then the story goes in a different direction. I loved guessing and being uncertain of who the villain is. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
This is the second book in a new series from Rebecca Zanetti. It could be read as a stand-alone, but I would not encourage it. You would lose some of the backstory and context. Laurel and Huck are on the hunt for another serial killer- this one targeting intellectual women. There is a lot of suspense, action, and twists.
I really enjoy the Laurel Snow series so far. She is a genius, so much so that she wonders if she is too "different " from other people. But you can see the warming relationships between her and Huck, a loner fish and wildlife officer with PTSD.
Rebecca Zanetti’s ‘You Can Hide (A Laurel Snow Thriller Book 2)’ is a standalone romantic thriller packed full of action, suspense and a slow burning romance. Or friendship. They’re still working it out.
Laurel Snow is back in town and a serial killer is on the loose. With a we-put-the-fun-in dysFUNctional team and a super sweet canine, Laurel and Huck work together to find the killer and save some lives. The tale is smart, edgy and full of cuteness. I loved it!
I received this ARC from the Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the series for FBI profiler Laurel Snow. I have really enjoyed this series and can’t wait for the third book to come out. This is a winner for me from Zanetti with the many facets of Laurel Snow and her dysfunctional family. It was suspenseful, and kept you guessing on who could possibly be the serial killer. Pick up a copy and follow along with Laurel and her friends and family. What a family she has! Laurel and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers have been called in to see about a body that has been found with their hands missing and Black Dahlias surrounding the bodies. Then Laurel gets a phone call from her half-sister, Abigail stating that she has found flowers in her yard. The same type of flowers that were found on the body. Laurel tells Abigail that she can put her into a safe house but Abigail declines. Then Laurel and Huck are called to another body with the same MO. Each victim is a doctor in their field and highly respected and each has been left flowers and stalked before they were killed. Laurel and Huck are trying to find this serial killer and trying to also protect Abigail in the process. Find out if Laurel and Huck catch this serial killer, how is Abigail involved and are Laurel and Huck getting involved romantically.
