This was another well written five star read by Rebecca Zanetti! Laurel Snow is incredibly gifted, yet doesn’t always know how to read people. Huck Rivers is a loner (besides his dog) and suffers from PTSD. But somehow together, their chemistry is off the charts as they try to figure out how to interact with one and other while solving a series of murders in their small town. Laurel is in the FBI and Huck is a member of Fish and Wildlife, and they are tasked to partner together to solve the case. There was an extensive cast of characters and she kept you guessing about who the murderer might be. This book had twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I would highly recommend reading You Can Run before you read You Can Hide. I hope there will be more in the Laurel Snow Thrillers series.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh what to say without giving anything away.
FBI Agent Laurel Snow has a decision to make…. agent in charge in Genesis Valley of a new headquarters or go somewhere else? While on another case, Laurel finds her sister Abigail. Laurel has an extremely high IQ and doesn’t get sarcasm. Laurel is teamed up the the Forest and Wildlife officer Huck. Huck would rather be by himself or with his dog but he gets called in to another case. Someone is killing women who are doctors, cutting their hands off and leaving black dahlias flowers all around the bodies. Laurel’s sister thinks someone is falling her but she’s not seen anyone, just a feeling. Can they find the killer before another woman is murdered?
This will keep you on the very edge of your seat. I didn’t want to put it down. When you get a Rebecca Zanetti book, you know you are in for action and suspense. For me it seemed like a very little cliffhanger hanger because you just hope there will be more.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…thanks to the publisher for an electronic review…this talented author has written A cannot put down murder mystery…red herrings…family and friends…love and marriage…family dynamics…secrets…even though there are a plethora of characters, this writer makes it easy to keep track…innovative for sure…I like the linear time line… I like the fast paced story…I like this author’s writing…no wasted words…the characters come alive on the pages…no boring parts…just good mystery writing…thriller..intrigue…what next?
I'm a huge fan of this series and Laurel and Huck as a couple (possible couple). I realize this is only book two but it is a definite read and I'm giving it five stars because I know I'll be going back and rereading these books for years to come. Now, if we can just get the author to write faster.
To stay or not to stay is the question facing Laurel when she catches her next serial killer case and by the end of this book she might just be putting down some roots, that is if the FBI allow her to, maybe. Read and find out.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
