Could even be rounded up to 3.5. I had some trouble focusing on this one, it seemed like the storyline jumped around quite a bit.
Overall, I enjoyed it.
It was cute, I liked the characters a lot.
I could definitely get a good idea in my head of the types of characters the women of All Souls were.
The ending was slightly lackluster. A twist that came out of left field, but it was just…unnecessary, I thought.

There was a lot that I enjoyed about this book, and some things I could have done without.

The thing I enjoyed the most was the focus on how it's the simple things that really capture our hearts and imaginations. It's dancing. It's gallantry. It's compliments. The early lustful part of a relationship is all well and good, but it's not going to be enough decades later because lust will fade. So, exploring what "gets your motor running," as these sweet ladies put it, is a worthwhile exploration.

Personally, I couldn't get into the gay and transgendered bits as much. The publishing industry is swinging too far in that direction right now, trying to overcorrect, in my opinion.

But overall, I found it an enjoyable story. I enjoyed the peeks into each of the main characters' lives, and how working on this book together really changed them and their circumstances.

Thanks to Lorna Landvik, Lake Union Publishing, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

I have always been a big fan of the heartwarming, humorous stories by Lorna Landvik! This one is no exception. Sex/lack of sex in older church women and fundraising are terrific subjects for a story. Many characters in this book, so pay close attention, it is worth it.

Long time Lorna Landvik fan so excited to receive this ebook from Netgalley.

I really enjoyed this look at romance and sex "later in life". Along the way the women in the circle learn more about themselves, what they had and what they want. I love the exploration of many different ways that romance and sex can be expressed and enjoyed - or not enjoyed, if that is the agreed on decision. The theme of being comfortable in your partnership and free to explore your sexuality while being a religious person is affirming and refreshing.

Funny as and heartwarming, I enjoyed all the church ladies, their husbands and the pastor. While I was reading I felt like I was part of their life. This book is heartwarming and good humored. The church ladies just want to raise money for the church and, at the same time, stick it to the big, well-endowed church across town. Forget the cookbook that many churches create as a fundraiser. These gals were going to write an A-Z book of erotica. Needless to say, this didn't go over well with everyone! Four stars !

Last Circle of Love, by Lorna Landvik, is a cute story, but too many characters make it difficult to follow. I couldn't keep up with who was doing what. I finally resorted to making a chart on paper to help me out. This definitely took away from my level of enjoyment. but got me through the book. Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Last Circle of Love by Lorna Landvik is a book about a group of church ladies, the Naomi Circle.
They are members of a church called "All Souls" which is in financial decline.
Their rival church, which is thriving and wealthy is called "Prince of Peace" which is often derisively called "Price of Peace"

There are a LOT of characters in this book.
I found it really hard (impossible) to keep the women in the Naomi circle and their spouses/partners straight.
I did like that the pastor was a woman, and I loved the storyline about the church janitor/handyman.

It might help this book to get a chart of the women, their spouses, and their "issue"
Like Who was the women who was married to the tailor with alzheimers?

The book is not badly written, and the length of the book was good, but it was kind of hard to follow.
I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

2.5/5 stars

This was a cute, light hearted read. It focuses on 4 women from who are in charge of coming up with fundraisers for the church they attend. This year they decide to write a A to Z to erotic book. I’m not going to lie I found this really weird in a book that focuses so heavily on religion but maybe that is my bais. Along the way they learn about then selves, there lot friends and family along the way.

There were a lot of characters and that means a lot of people to keep track of. It was extremely hard to remember who did what and why. I wish it had been streamlined a little more.

I also felt let down by the plot it had so much potential but it fell flat for me.

Thank you NetGalley for sending me an advanced copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lake Union Publishing and Lorna Landvik for a digital ARC of this title in return for an honest review.

This is my first Lorna Landvik novel and when I read the description I thought I would just love it. That was not the case.

Let me say I appreciated the storyline, which was entertaining. However, I found it difficult to navigate between the characters. I actually had to go back and reread sections to make sense of some situations and who they were. The confusion I felt when I was reading the book just made the experience not enjoyable and it bordered on frustration.

I think if there were fewer, more developed characters set against the storyline, it would have made for a smoother read and held my attention at the same time. That’s not to say the writing was poor, it certainly wasn’t. I especially like the small-town setting, which always has a cast of characters. It’s just that in this case the cast could of have been scaled back.

The novel is sweet and fun with sadness and seriousness added in to make it balanced. This is a quirky and surprisingly thoughtful story about a church circle who are desperately keen to fundraise for their church and under the new female minister find themselves considering a book of ‘erotica’ rather than the old reliable but not very profitable cookbook. This isn’t as risqué as it sounds, it’s as much about love as sex but it does make the women look at their love lives and rethink a few things. I found this a great character read and overall it offered very positive examples of both genders contribution to relationships whilst also highlighting where sometimes things are not always healthy. Although most characters are older there's actually a good representation of ages and a brilliant mix of voices.

I loved Chronicles of a Radical Hag by this author and loved this humorous and choral story of a group of post menopausal women who decide to write an unusual recipe book to save their parish.
A lot of humour, fleshed out and relatable characters, a compelling story.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

While I think the book was well written, I had a difficult time getting connected to the storyline. It’s not totally a reflection of the author or the book, just that I don’t totally think I was the target demographic for this one. Will definitely be recommending this one to my mom though I think she’d get a kick out of it.

Mallory Peterson is the new Pastor if the local Lutheran church. Her church is in need of money and all the previous fundraising attempts have not achieved the desired results. So, some of the ladies of the church have decided on a new fundraising idea, a guidebook to heat up your love life!

I have loved several books by this author. It has been years since I have read her. So, I am not sure if I have grown or if she has changed her writing style. But, this book was just a bit too simple and predictable.

That being said…I did love the characters and the premise of these church ladies writing erotica. But, the conversations were as clean and wholesome as you can imagine. It is more about growing in love and friendship. This had a chance to be much cuter than it was. I guess this book has its place but it is just not with me.

Sometimes there are books that just aren’t for everyone and this book would be one of those for me. I was drawn to this book by its cover and did not read the book description. It just isn’t the typical book that I would be interested in.

This book is about several older ladies that belong to the same church group - The Naomi's. They are looking for a new project to bring money into their struggling church. The idea of writing an “ABC’s of Erotica” book was tossed out to the group. As they made their way through the alphabet, it tells a story of each character and what that letter meant to them.

I did enjoy the small town vibe of this book. At times this group of ladies could be mean and judgy, but it was nice to see their relationships grow as they worked on this project together. I am not really a religious person and most of the character’s are a lot older than I am so I feel like that was the biggest issue for me not enjoying this book more.

There were several POV’s in this book…too many cooks in the kitchen. I had a hard time keeping up with who each character was and it seemed like more and more characters kept coming into the story as it went on.

While I enjoyed the heartfelt stories with each letter of the alphabet that the characters were telling, there was just too much going on in this book. The writing itself was good and I did like how it touched on some sensitive topics but there were too many in this one book. I feel like the word “erotica” was thrown around this book way too many times - especially since what they were writing wouldn’t be considered erotica (at least to me).

I've been a fan of Lorna Landvik's books ever since I read Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons. Love that title! Last Circle of Love reminded me of that book of hers—a group of women who come together to fill a need in their lives. And oh, what a ride those crazy women take the reader on.

I loved all of the characters in this story. They're mostly older women, who as you may or may not know, sometimes lose their filters. That's where the fun comes in! They decide they want to 'spice up' their traditional fundraising church cookbook.

I'm pretty sure I read this entire book with a smile on my face, as I so enjoyed the antics of this group of church ladies. I could totally see myself being a part of this hilarious pack. What a hoot!

Give Last Circle of Love a try for an fun, entertaining, and uplifting time. You will not be disappointed.

The older folks of the parish come up with a very risqué plan to make money for the church.

Cute but not able to tick all my boxes,

This was a really sweet book that definitely pulls at the heartstrings. The only issue I had with it was that it had way too many characters to keep up with as the story moves forward. Although we learn a good amount of detail about the background of the characters the pace of the story suffers. Still, it was a solid story that I would suggest others check out. It just makes it more of a slow read and harder to keep focus on. And it’s less erotica and more older women talking about what they desire. Kinda wish it was old ladies talking dirty. That would have been fun. 3.5 stars.

Lorna Landvik's newest novel is set in a small Midwestern community and features a cast of mature and diverse characters. This makes for a quick and cozy read with some light-hearted moments. Some of the subject matter may not appeal to everyone else, but I found it to be a pleasant change of pace following several WWII historical novels. Thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the advance copy to read and review.
