This book was a easy read.
It wasn't a masterpiece in writing and I found I kept wanting something more from it, for instance if the story included more of the women's perspective...

Callum Macquarie has been asked to bring his brother’s wife’s sisters back to the island because the pirate Jandeau is looking for them! The only problem is Anna and Dora don’t want to go with him; Anna vowed never to set foot in Scotland after she left. In order to defend herself against her creepy father and his friends, she taught herself and her sisters how to throw little peoples with deadly force. One night, her father was coming home drunk with some friends and threatening to let them have his daughters, so she threw a rock at him and accidentally killed him. So now she is wanted for murder and can’t return to Scotland.

Callum is determined to fulfill his mission and prove to his brothers that he is capable so he refuses to return without the sisters. But it is an uphill battle as one of the creepy Lords has proposed to Anna and she is actually considering marriage to him. However, feelings start to develop between Anna and Callum.  They are caught together and Anna is fired by the so they decide to travel to Lord Sudeley’s estate. But little do they know it is a trap and he has sold her to the pirates!  Callum is tasked with taking in a dozen pirates and saving Anna and her sister. Think Die Hard!  It was epic!

But my problem with this edition to the series was that I found Anna very frustrating and the story predictable. As soon as Lord Sudeley started being creepy, I knew he was in cahoots with the Pirate. I also wanted Anna to be more head over heels for Callum; I mean he is a freaking beast of a Highland Warrior and obviously he can protect her from anyone wanting to harm her or pin her for her fathers Murder!

2.5 stars rounded up.

Callum Macquarie wants nothing more than to return to his beloved home in the Highlands, but first he must endure an inadequately defended English castle for however long it takes to convince lovely Anna Montgomerie and her sister, Dora, to return with him and be reunited with their elder sister. He has an oath to keep and that means getting them home safely and before the pirate Jandeau learns where they are. Unfortunately, Anna has no desire to ever return to Scotland and declares herself to be not in need of rescue.

Anna isn’t interested in Callum or any oath he might’ve made. She’s unconcerned for any dangers and has no intention to return to Scotland after the way she left it. She’d much prefer to make a new life for herself in England and she has a plan to make that happen if the handsome highlander would just stay out of her way.

This was not the book I’d expected for lighthearted, joking, smiling Callum and it didn’t have quite the romance or the fast-paced, suspenseful edge of the other books in the series. Perhaps the English setting is some of what threw this one a little off for me, and Anna, the heroine, didn't help either. She came off as being very peevish, and unnecessarily rude to Callum when he was merely trying to help. She was very immature in her dealings with him, for instance stomping on his foot twice within the first few chapters as her preferred method of expressing her displeasure, as if she were taking out her resentment toward her older sister on him. It was also bizarre to me that she describes having fantasized about Callum’s brother, Beck, coming to take her away. Especially when combined with her rudeness toward Callum, this watered down any romance that was burgeoning between them, and that’s before we even bring in Baron Elias Grigg, the true third corner of this bizarre love triangle.

The whole storyline with Elias offering to marry Anna and give her and her sister lives of wealth and privilege was pretty flimsy and made no sense given that they had nothing to bring to the marriage themselves and there was clearly no incentive for him to marry someone with no wealth or title. The fact that Anna couldn’t see this made her intelligence seem questionable and the fact that she entertained the idea of a romantic attraction to Elias, even for a short time, made it hard to believe she’d so quickly transferred her affections to Callum. This undermined the love connection between Callum and Anna for me, a connection that was already flimsy because Anna is nothing but mean to Callum and about the country that he loves for much of the book. Yet, somehow Callum is telling Anna that she’s wonderful during this time and I was left wondering what he saw and questioning his intelligence too. The competitiveness between Callum and Elias was just a bit weird and the humor that I think it was meant to infuse was lost on me. In fact, I found more humor in the villains as they bumbled about ineptly. Much of the book just seemed like a way to make a spectacle of Callum as the wild Highlander with quite a bit of inane conversation thrown in and Anna quite obviously trusting where she shouldn’t and realizing her mistake when it was nearly too late.

By the time she came around and realized how great Callum was and how much she wanted to be with and create a home with him, it was a bit too late for me to be fully convinced of their deep love. I still have high hopes for the remaining brothers’ stories, but this one felt rushed, with a scattered and rather flimsy plot that just didn’t quite work for me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It was a pretty good addition to the series. It was interesting to read about a highlander in England. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

I thought this was a really good read - although unfortunately, didn’t realize it was book 3 until after I’d finished it! I look forward to reading more by this author.

I’ve always loved historical romances but found this one a bit more challenging to get into - it had a slow start. Callum Macquarie ventures to England with the sole task of returning to Wolf Isle with Anna and Dora Montgomery, but he is woefully unprepared for how little Anna wants to return with him. Her refusal puts them all in a dangerous situation as the nefarious pirate Jundeau is in search of the girls - it is up to Callum to convince her before they’re all found.

The love story between Anna and Callum is full of stubbornness, adventure and the steadfast loyalty that each of them have to those they love. They had wonderful banter and chemistry throughout the novel - while the rest of the plot is full of danger, struggle, and Callum as the protector. It was very engaging and I look forward to going back and reading more by this author!

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and Heather McCollum for this ARC!

A fun blend of romance and action. The story may be a bit predictable, but there is enough happening to keep you interested. Minimal heat level, but I think that works here since action keeps it moving. I really enjoyed this book.

The Highlander’s Tudor Lass by Heather McCollum is the third book of the Brothers of Wolfe Isle. Callum Macquarie wants more than anything to return to Wolfe Isle, but when he goes to an English castle to fetch Anna Montgomerie and her sister to bring back to Scotland, Anna refuses to go. Even though the pirate Jundeau is looking for the girls and intends to do them harm.

It was interesting to see real life figures featured in this story to support historical accuracy. While a bit slow in the beginning, the story picks up toward the end.

The Highlander's Tudor Lass is another entertaining read written by author Heather McCollum. Callum was a huge hit in this novel with his likeable, genuine persona that was a clear match for Anna. The shenanigans within the story were often almost comical in portrayal, making some of the characters even more affable. Another good story in the Brother's of Wolf Isle series.

Wonderful Scottish hijinks and adventure!

This is the story of Callum Macquarie and Anna Montgomerie. They are both Scottish, but Anna escaped her horrible father and fled to England with her youngest sister. Callum has been tasked with bringing her back to the Highlands to reunite with her two other sisters. Anna stubbornly refuses to go with Callum (for her own reasons), but Callum refuses to fail at his mission: bring Anna back to her sisters who have missed her and keep her safe from an evil pirate, Jandeau, who is looking for her and her sister.

The attraction between Callum and Anna felt real from the moment they met. Their meet cute was also funny and sweet. 😂 Callum became protective of Anna pretty quickly and you could feel how much she *wants* to go with him.

There was a good amount of action and the plot moved along nicely. I liked the storyline with Jandeau and the high stakes that added.

Anna’s backstory was very sad and might be a trigger for some people. There was nothing graphic, but you should look up the triggers if you are bothered by mentions of childhood sexual abuse. 💔

The way this story resolved was definitely satisfying. It set up the next book in the series while still providing a nice arc for Callum and Anna’s story.

I’m really enjoying the Heather McCollum’s I’ve read lately and candy wait to read more and continue this series!

Callum Macquarie is very impressive. He has the patience of a saint waiting for Anna Montgomerie to make up her mind to leave England and go to Wolf Isle. Anna has a secret and is afraid of going back to Scotland. Callum must change her mind. He's also a very creative dancer when it comes to swords. He is more than willing to teach Anna and her sister Dora how to ride horses on their trip. Most important of all, he and help from three lasses, take down a group of pirates and an earl. My favorite part of the book!

As usual I’m reading a series out of order. Don’t be like me. This time I knew there were pieces of the story missing.

This story was an adventure. I wish that Callum had figured out what Griggs was up to, he had the suspicion he just didn’t follow through with it. The best part of the story is the arrival of the villain. Let the action begin, because until then the story was dragging a bit.
This was the first time of read a Highlander novel with a glossary I found that to be interesting.

If you read this story I suggest you read it in order of the series so you can fully experience it. I recommend this book if you like a little action with the romance.

This is the first in the series, The Brothers of Wolf Isle, I've read by Heather McCollum. I enjoyed the read and the hunky highlander, Callum. The story was a bit repetitive with the Callum constantly trying to get Anna to see is ways while at Sudeley Castle. Once, the characters left the confines of the castle, the action picked-up greatly.

The Highlander's Tudor Lass could've benefited from a cross-country chase, more swording fighting on land or on the pirate ship. The infusion of any of these elements would have made this story a bit more livelier. I'm sure if I had read the other books in the series, maybe this story would have landed better for me as the reader.

It was a good read, but i think that the author used a lot of time circling around the historic context that pulled me off the story, but the main love story was nice and sometimes cute, recommended for those who love romance.

This story begins with a letter written by Lark's sister. Two are still in England and Lark is concerned. Callum has been sent to get the last two girls. But they are staying with a princess and her stepmother. They stopped for a job and got accepted. Elizabeth the princess and Dora are the same age. Anna sees her stepfather put her on his lap, but she stops him from doing what he planned and now he has ruined anna's name. He the stepfather went and told the princess's stepmother that it was all Anna's fault and she and her sister were sent immediately away. Callum had stayed with them in case they needed help. Now they were heading to Chester. Callum was a twin, the oldest, and the third son. He felt that he should show how serious he was about his duty. He had always been happy. Even when it was thought he should be serious. Anna has also been accused of killing her father. He drank at night until his wife died and then he drank all the time. He finally decided to hurt one of Anne and Lark's sisters and she tossed a well-placed stone into his body. She had also thought she killed him.

This was a tense story, especially toward the end. It is exciting and thrilling, oh yes, we also have pirates. They manage to scatter things to the winds. The characters, the sisters, and Callum get along, but Anna is firmly against going back to Scotland, it is a great novel and I enjoyed it immensely.

THE HIGHLANDER'S TUDOR LASS By Heather McCollum

Callum is sent to England by his brother's to get Anna and Dora back to Wolf Isle before a scorned Pirate Jundeau finds them. Now Anna refuses to go back to Scotland and wants to make a new life for herself right there in England.

😊What i liked -

✔ Historical Romance /Opposite Attracts.
✔ I absolutely love the Scottish accent , so it was a big high reading this book with the both Scottish and English accent in my head (and mind you I cannot copy the accent to even save my).
✔ I loved Callum's character. He is sweet, caring , intelligent, strong yet vulnerable.
✔ Anna comes off as a strong, brave woman who will do just about anything to keep her sisters safe. (I love it when there is a strong female character)
✔ This book has it all: drama, twists, heartache, love and action.
✔ I absolutely loved the bit where Callum is taking down Jundeau.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ I found the part in Sudeley Castle a bit stretched.

I love this series. I really enjoyed Callum and Anna's story. She was so stubborn and was the grump of this story. Which I kind of liked. And Callum is pretty patient with her, never pushing too hard and trying to figure out the real reason she is reluctant to return home.

I can't wait to see what happens next in this series!

Callum Macquarie would love nothing more than to be at home on Wolfe Island. Instead, he has made his way to England to find Anna Montgomerie and her sister and bring them back to Scotland. They're in danger because the pirate Jundeau is looking for them. But Anna is refusing to return to Scotland.

Anna could care less that Callum made an oath to her sister. She will not set foot in Scotland again. Not after the things she had to endure after her sister left. She has a plan but the protective highlander will not leave.

When they are caught kissing her plans are thrown off and she must now either accept a Baron's offer or return with Callum. Until they all come face to face with the horrid Jundeau.

Thank you so much to the author, Entangled, and NetGalley for this ARC to review.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have enjoyed reading this series about the brothers of Wolf Isle. In this book, Callum is sent to bring Anna home to Scotland but she is resistant even though she knows that there is a vengeful pirate after her and her sisters.

There were times that Callum (and I felt the same!) was frustrated with her reluctance to just go with him to safety. The most frustrating part was when Anna thinks the answer is to marry a baron because she felt she would be safer married to him and living in England. My suspicious mind was yelling at her to figure out where his mysterious influx of money was coming from!!

I did like the part where the story included a young Elizabeth before she became the Virgin Queen!

Lots of action, passion, and romance throughout the book and loved the last chapter when they were back on Wolf Isle.

Take one handsome, braw highlander determined to rescue an English lady and what do you get?
An amazing story by one of my favorite authors who knows her highlanders!!

The third in this series has Callum Macquarie in England to rescue beautiful Anna Montgomerie and her sister and take her to Scotland. Her other two sisters had already been taken and had found a new life.

But Anna is stubborn and does not want to leave. Can Callum convince her and win her heart at the same time? So, so wonderful!

This was a good paced story with plenty of action. I did like the main character of Callum, a strong, handsome highlander, who wasn’t without doubts of his own. This made him more likeable as he wasn’t full of himself. Anna was strong willed and a little too stubborn at times. I couldn’t understand why, as an intelligent woman, she trusted one of the men. This is steamy in parts and although part of a series, could be read as a stand-alone. I found this to be an entertaining read. I was given a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Anna was not the sweet happy girl Beck had told Cullum she was. Anna was guarded and the most stubborn, heavenly lass he has ever met. Will he convince her to return with him to Wolf Isl where she will be safe with the rest of her sisters and Lark, where she can open her own bakery . Danger is lurking near by and he refuses to leave without her. I truly enjoyed this book. Both of their wit. Now I must wait for the next .
