I find drawing so relaxing but never really know where to start so I was super happy to find this book to help with it. As a hobby this book is so helpful
The book presents how to draw a few animals from start to finish. It is a perfect book for kids but for adults too.
Let's Draw Favorite Animals is a beginner tutorial guide from the L:ets Draw series. It is a short book with step by step instructions for drawing a variety of pets and familiar animals. The book begins with all the basic drawing skills a beginner will need. The projects include a cow, fox, bunny, turtle and panda. This book is especially suited to children because of the content but would also be good for beginner adults.

My daughter and I read this book together and we loved it a lot. The book is wonderful, as it goes into detail about different art tips and techniques, art tools required and how to draw different animals, a few examples being Baby Bunny, Cow and Llama.
My daughter's favourite animal was the Baby Bunny, and she tried to draw it.
I highly recommend this book to all budding artists and also experienced artists, as whatever your skills, you will still learn something from this interesting and useful art book.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
Interested in Drawing Favorite Animals?
How2DrawAnimals presents "Let's Draw Favorite Animals. Learn to draw a variety of your favorite animals step by step!" published by Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster. It is one of the books in the "Let's Draw ..." series which touches also other animals such as dogs, wild animals, or dragons. The book starts with the basic information about "Tools & Materials" and "Drawing Basics". Then it offers step-by-step drawing for animals such as Baby Bunny, Red-Eared Slider Turtle, Llama, Giant Panda, or Clydesdale Horse. There are also additional tips throughout the books touching topics such as "Shading", "Rough Value", "Dimension & Value", or "Noting Differences" (e.g. in horses).
It is a short book for children and beginners who want to learn to draw some of their favorite animals. It only offers the drawings in black-grey-white (although more advanced students will have no problem to adapt the instructions for drawing with colors). I highly recommend this book for this group.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I received the book from netgalley for my honest review. This book has step by step to teach you how to draw favorite animals. It is great fun for those learning to draw. It also teaches some about shading. My oldest daughter loves these books. She has been able to draw animals well instead of cartoon animals. Highly recommended. I just love the step to step for the horse.
Really enjoyed this book, its great for someone who has an interest in drawing and wants to learn how to draw their favourite animals. I particularly loved the turtle as its my dad's favourite animal and will look brilliant on a birthday card for him. This would make a great gift for some body and the drawings will make great cards or jus general pictures to have around the house.
My 9 year old niece has been obsessed with learning to draw and these books were perfect for her! I especially appreciated the tips and tricks offered to new and experienced artists. I loved the variety given to draw, and there's something for everyone, no matter what your drawing experience.
Not only does this book go through drawing basics, but it gives step-by-step directions in 10-12 steps. It is intended for kids, but I think the types of drawing are kind of advanced. There are a variety of ypes of creatures within the book. It also gives a list of tools and materials needed to be successful.
Let's Draw Favorite Animals is a collection of drawing tutorials by How2DrawAnimals. Due out 16th Aug 2022 from Quarto on their Walter Foster Jr. imprint, it's 48 pages and will be available in paperback format.
For all the readers who grew up with the spin racks of technique booklets from Foster at their local stationery/art store, the format in this new series of books will be comfortingly familiar. The books begin with very basic overviews over tools and supplies and pencil techniques for light and shadow, shading, texture, and form.
There are 10 tutorials included in the book for a varied selection of familiar animals such as a fox, cow, hamster, turtle, and deer (and 5 more). Tutorials are easy to follow and show step by step refinements with new lines and shading included. The tutorials cover two pages each with 10 steps from simple shapes to finished, shaded drawing.
This would make a great gift for would-be artists of all ages. The included tutorials are varied and eclectic. There is a complete table of contents, so locating individual ones shouldn't be problematic. They're slanted toward line drawings, though colored pens, crayons, and watercolors could certainly be used to enhance the drawings.
Nice booklet, accessible for everyone.
Five stars. This would be a nice choice, bundled with some drawing supples, for a young artist. It would also do well for school or public library acquisition, home library, and even for adults/childminders/caregivers/teachers who want to up their "draw with me" game with their young charges.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
How to Draw has done it yet again! This is the perfect step by step drawing guide to add to the art classroom, or artist’s drawing repertoire. Even as an artist and educator, I found this book to give me just the challenge I was looking for in upping my animal game. As an art educator, I always look for challenging but directive drawing books for add to my classroom. This book is just that. Thank you Walter Foster Publishing and NetGalley for this magnificent ARC.
This is a short, helpful little book that teaches kids or adults how to draw 10 animals step by step. It is the type where you draw a circle and then another circle and then lines through it and then erase this part, and so on. I'm not a big fan of those and prefer ones that show you the basic shapes for how to draw instead, but this makes it easy to get realistic results when you're done.
I'm not sure these would be my favorite ten animals. They seemed a little random at times but they're a good selection --
Baby Bunny
Red Fox
Cow
Russian Dwarf Hamster
Red-Eared Slider Turtle
Llama
Squirrel
Giant Panda
Clydesdale Horse
White-Tailed Deer
There are four pages at the beginning that teach you the very basics about materials and how to do shading and such. These are the same four pages in each book in the series. All in all, it's a good beginner level drawing book. Three stars for "liked it."
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
Let's Draw Favourite Animals is a fantastic guidebook for drawing 10 animals - my 7 year old's only complaint was that there is a big jump from the second last instruction to the final shading, and wished there were a few more steps to achieve a look similar to the book.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster, Walter Foster Jr and Netgalley for this ARC!
This is a great book to learn how to draw various animals. I can't draw but my son loves to, so I plan on getting him this book.
I was interested in this book because I am an artist and like to draw.
I believe this book is intended for beginner artists with minimal equipment (a pencil, an eraser, and paper would be all you need), a brief overview of shading, and step-by-step instructions.
It includes ten animals in a slim 48 page volume, which would be great if you are just want to explore drawing as a beginner or have a short attention span.
I think it would be helpful to have two pencils (one hard lead and one soft, say HB and 3B for example) to do finer section (faces) and larger area shading. A kneaded eraser would be also helpful to erase guidelines before shading. Placements of basic shapes at the beginning is important, so be sure to take a look how a finished drawing might look like before placing circles.
Another helpful thing to have is patience - your drawing may not be perfect from the beginning, but who cares, keep on trying and improving.
For all 10 animals, there seems to be a big gap between the final product and the second to the last instruction (step before the shading). If one doesn't know basics of shading as well as animal anatomy, one can be a bit frustrated... just remember patience is a virtue and you will be able to shade better with a little bit of practice. Remember to go easy at the beginning and darken more as you go along.
Overall, I have enjoyed this book and might check out others in the series.
An advanced copy of this Ebook was provided with courtesy of Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for review purposes. Thank you! Opinions here is my own.
With this title kids (and adults) can learn to draw many animals including a rabbit, cow, squirrel, giant panda, Clydesdale and more. The directions are specific and helpful; they will lead to some successful projects.
So, get out the art supplies and have some fun. Artists will enjoy their creations.
Many thanks to Quarto Publishing Group-Walter Foster Jr. and NetGalley for this title. All opinions are my own.
Basic information but so helpful for a beginner! I always wanted to draw animals, but I was lacking some clear guidance!
So great for beginners or those who have been drawing for a long time! I've always loved drawing and this was so much fun! The steps, the descriptions and the photos were just great! I highly recommend this!!
**Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me this for my honest review!
To say I can’t draw is an understatement. I’m high school one of my teachers thought my stick people looked like flowers. I attempted to draw a couple of animals from this book and while the results are still humorous I think with practice I might be able to draw something! The directions are easy to follow and I feel like these are a little more advanced than just a sketch since there’s shading involved. 5 stars for giving me hope of being able to draw a rabbit that actually resembles a rabbit!
Easy to follow, but uses the usual technique of drawing circles then joining them up. I wished there was a better explanation on how to draw the textures etc as it felt a bit rushed, but I decent nom otherwise. The animals you can draw are all written in the description, there aren’t any additional ones
