While I’m not a camper, I do like to be prepared. And this cocktail recipe book has me almost convinced to go camping. Almost.
The really cool thing about this book is it tells you how to prep at home and how to store the drinks.
The part that cracked me up is I never would have thought to use Gatorade in my margarita or add protein powder to a drink. Lol so funny.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a unique book!
Covering traditional and non-traditional cocktail recipes this book breaks down how to prep cocktails for RVs, hiking, or car camping. The book has a guide for what to prep in advance, how to store your drinks, and how to prepare them based on how you're camping. While some of this information is intuitive, this is a unique little guide to have drinks ready for the great outdoors.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for giving me this eArc to review.
I love cocktails but I have never really made any before so I thought this would be perfect to read, especially because I like camping.
I liked the layout of the book and found it super easy to follow. I really liked the key that showed what sort of camping the drinks would be ideal for. This is definitely a great book to use.
We are avid campers and this book was so interesting! At first glance, I wasn’t sure about the recipes. However, these are PERFECT for camping adventures. This comes with so many tips and tricks- ideas to make some things beforehand so you don’t have to carry, which is good for campers vs. hiking, etc. It contains a plethora of information, plus some helpful recipe ideas to broaden your camping horizons. This was an interesting concept, and executed fabulously!
This book was exactly what you would expect from the title! It begins with an introduction about some fundamentals of cocktail mixing and the tools you will need, along with some key points to remember about safety and food preparation in a camping environment.
The recipes are divided into several categories to make them easier to search through and I thought it was a good mix of classics and more original drinks. Most recipes also include options for making them non-alcoholic.
Overall I thought this was a great little resource to help people prepare to make cocktails on a camping trip! Would definitely recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
This is a cute and handy little book if you're a camper who wants to do more than bring beer and wine to the site! The cocktails are fairly basic but the equipment list and advice on how to transport, keep cold and enjoy in various camping settings is helpful. I admit to cringing a bit at the idea of Gatorade in a margarita but then remembered hey, we all make substitutions while camping -- that's the joy of it.
This could be a fun gift for a camper in your life, especially if you want them to make you drinks.
