Whenever you feel down, read this graphic novel! Lots of cute animals, cute art style, addresses anxiety and celebrating good and positive things and I love it so much!! KIWI is so cuteeeee
Totally going to buy this book when it comes out.
This book is so heart warming and has all the feelings that show what a normal person can feel in a day illustrated by cute animals
A perfect book for those who need a pick-me-up, a little dose of positivity, or those who suffer from anxiety. Filled with super cute comics, this book is the perfect thing to reach for in times of uncertainty.
Also, bonus cute stickers and a section for you to write down thoughts and feelings at the end? Love it.
Thank you Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another adorable Cat’s Cafe book! Full of adorable creatures, uplifting moments, and of course the lovable, stabby Kiwi (my favorite!). If you are feeling a bit blue, this book is like a warm hug with it’s cute drawings and characters that feel, well, a lot like us. Even Goose, meweheheh.
If you like comics with cute creatures, definitely pick up this book! Would be a great gift for anyone needing a little pick me up, too.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love Cat's Cafe that I followed on Webtoon from time to time and it is always cute and heartwarming to see these lovely animals. In this collection we have Cat and his friends with emotional issues but there is always someone to help facing them and making things feel better. It's really comforting and the best to put a smile on your face when you feel a bit down. The characters are so lovable that just seeing them makes you feel good. I might recommend it more for kids with mental health's problems, it will cheer them up.
Oh geez. This is all lovely and sweet, full of relatable life-affirming sentiments, many a person will feel very seen. Plus: it's rammed up to the eyeballs with cute art.
But! It's also unbearably, aggressively twee. And only occasionally funny. Which just makes it not for me.
Cute and relatable 4-panel cartoons that run the gamut from emotional to inspirational to LOL funny.
A few of the gags get a bit repetitive, but they're distributed far enough away from each other in the page count that it's not that big a deal unless you binge-read the entire book in one sitting as I did.
Happy thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the very charming read!
Heartwarming, adorable, and just the thing to cheer you up when you’re feeling down! These animals all have their own mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.), but they show each other and themselves love and support throughout a series of short comics. The art is simple and colorful, showing emotions well. This collection is perfect for dipping in an out when you need a smile or reading straight through to help getting out of a reading slump.
As a coffee/tea addict who’s attracted to cute and fluffy things, this book grabbed my attention. I was expecting to look at pretty pictures. Possibly read about some adorable interaction amongst the animal characters. "One Cup at a Time" definitely delivered on that. The dialogues were simple yet complex enough to touch on the subject of everyday hardship. Maybe reading this at 4 in the morning wasn’t such a good idea. 😭
An easy and very pleasant read. There is an uplifting theme about self-care sprinkled throughout the book. I would gift this book to a friend as a pick-me-up present.💜
This book was adorable! I was reading it and tearing up because I related to the content so much. I would recommend this book to anyone who knows someone going through a tough time or just frustrated with being a person. The illustrations are very sweet and the whole book is like a warm hug.
This is like a coffee table book but for Gen-Z and burnt out Millennials.
For me it wasn't as good as the first collection, it didn't touch my heart and completely melt my soul in a puddle of wholesomeness as Cat's Café did but it was still so sweet and pure and enjoyable!
I particularly enjoyed the "A brew to remember" and, of course, kiwi <3
Warm, fuzzy, and heartfelt, this second collection of Cat’s Cafe comics includes the typical one-pagers, a few multipage storylines, and even an interactive game page or two.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC!
Don't let the cover fool you! These comics aren't all laughter and sweetness - they have a distinct focus on anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, etc. But the gentle way the colorful panels address these hard topics is supportive and heartwarming. You can practically feel the outpouring of love from the pages! The large cast of cute, brightly-colored characters makes picking a favorite difficult. (I lied. Kiwi is obviously my favorite.) It's worth taking a few minutes to enjoy the affirmation and friendship offered by this collection.
The simple & cute characters will simply walk right into your heart!!💚💜
What a fun way to learn about taking care of yourself. Taking time for yourself, self-care, asking for help, quiet time, calming items and so much more. This graphic novel is not only full of adorably cute animal characters, but also overflowing with a multitude of ways to take care of YOU.I have never seen a self-help book presented in a such a fun-loving colorful way. I feel like I have spent time caring for myself just reading this graphic novel.
I also can't forget these characters are so kind and compassionate and I wish I could hang out a Cat’s Café to call them my friends too.
Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & Andrews McMeel Publishing
I absolutely adored this book! I was laughing, smiling, aweing, and even a little teary eyed, It was so sweet and I loved every minute of it . The characters are adorable and the messages in the story are so important! Thank you for allowing me to read an ARC through NetGalley.
Oh my god, this comic is pure sweetness - it feels like a big, warm hug. THERE'S EVEN A FOX WHO USES ASL! I think it does a nice job of acknowledging the role of self care and community/social support in mental health struggles while also not pushing any unhealthy "x/y/z things cure [mental illness]" narratives. I might buy a copy as a gift when it comes out!
I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone! Who wouldn’t want to read about cute animals supporting each other and cheering up their friends when they’re having a bad day? It’s got a great message that it’s ok not to be ok sometimes and not to be afraid to ask for help. Plus, it has Kiwi, who has a knife….and my whole heart! What more could you ask for?
Thank you so much to Andrews McMeel and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I can't emphasize enough how cute and heartwarming this series is. Reading this felt like snuggling inside a warm blanket with a cup of hot drink on a rainy day. The illustration is simple but nice, some of the panels are fun, and each of the character has a distinct trait.
In short, it's wholesome & comforting. I love it.
Life isn't about forgetting one's problems but being around one another and supporting each other through both the good and the bad times. Thank you, publishers, for the lovely ARC!
This title was geared towards a younger audience. Themes included self care, embracing differences, supporting and depending on others in times of need, coping with depression and anxiety, and making friends. More of a positive comic than a funny one.
