Fold in the Cheese is a little bit of a niche product for me...
It was a fun and entertaining book for Schitt's Creek fans, filled with recipes, tips on hosting all kinds of events (really, all kinds... from baby showers to a movie premieres) with fun references to the show thrown in.
However, I question the usefulness, beyond making a cute housewarming gift. I think ultimately the book would have benefitted from including more recipes to make it more of an actual cookbook, rather than just a gimmicky coffee table item.
Still a fun book for true Schitt's Creek Fans, so for that reason it still gets 4 stars from me!

This is the perfect gift for any Schitt's Creek Fan. The small details in the artwork had my heart from the beginning. I dare anyone to not read this in Moira Rose's voice; it's impossible.

Mother's Enchiladas recipe, how to play celebrity, how to beat an escape room, and the way I cackled at Prosecco Pong I knew this was absolute perfection.

This will definitely be on my list of gifts for friends of mine that are Schitt's Creek lovers.

What a delightful read! I was transported back to many of my favorite Schitt’s Creek episodes with many of the scenarios used by the author to illustrate proper entertaining protocols. I found myself giggling and smiling while learning some decent tips on how to be a better social butterfly, business host and guest at family gatherings.
The book has many recipes for food and intriguing cocktails, too. Although Schitt’s Creek fans will get more out of this charming book than those who haven’t experienced the show, most readers will find themselves enjoying this fun guide to entertaining guests.

This book is a must-read for those that love the show. Reading this book is like becoming shoulder-to-shoulder buddies with the characters. There are lots of recipes, games, and advice for your own party - might as well make it a watch party!

This was a fun little book on party planning and entertaining based off of the show Schitt's Creek. (If you haven't seen the show it won't be nearly as fun.) The author manages to make the text sound like the characters and there are countless references throughout the book. It's a funny, quick read, but like I said, won't mean as much to someone who isn't familiar with the show. I love the show, so this book was a joy.

Fold in the Cheese is the unofficial guide Schitt's Creek fans will adore! Five stars and a heavy recommendation for this guide as well as Schitt's Creek. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Schitt's Creek is one of the shows my wife and I found during the pandemic and fell head over heels for. It's hilarious, relatable, and the perfect look at small town life. Fold in the Cheese was such a delight to find and brought back so many memories of watching(and rewatching) Schitt's Creek and the blunders of the characters. The addition of recipes for cocktails and entrees/appetizers really make this guide fun and worth while. The illustrations throughout are a great nod to all things Schitt's Creek and leave you with a smile on your face.

A heavy recommendation for this guide and the series that inspired it. I know I'll be adding this unofficial guide to my shelves and testing out more than one of the recipes found within! 5 stars

I'm a fan of Schitt's Creek, so this book was a natural for me. What surprised me, though, were the legitimately good recipes and tips. The chapters are separated into titles that merge well with the show. They were all done with humor and little shout outs and info boxes, which makes it an easy fun read, and easy to reference. Interestingly I'd planned to make enchiladas tonight. One of the recipes (had to be!) was for enchiladas. It turned out great. And yes, I folded in the cheese. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

First I must say I loved this book and loved the recipes but I also was a bit disappointed there weren't more recipes as this is what drew me to this book.

But having said that I found this book quite entertaining and definitely a lot of fun. But I was a bit unsure about the Schitt's Creek connection although I have heard of it I don't know anything about it. But that didn't put me off and I did find it entertaining, cute, fun and had some great illustrations. Love the hints and tips for entertaining, bbq-ing and throwing parties

I think you need to take it for what it is, a bit of fun, a bit of entertainment and just a fun read.

I decided to read “Fold in the Cheese” because of how much I enjoyed Schitt’s Creek. Unfortunately, the book missed the mark for me. While the recipes inside all sound good, there were very few of them. The tips for throwing various gatherings may be helpful for someone that has never hosted anything, but as someone who is used to having large family gatherings, the information seemed to be more common sense than anything else. Based off the description, I expected a bit more Schitt’s Creek humor mixed in, but I found that a bit lacking as well.

Clearly I chose the book for the cover. It wasn’t what I was expecting. But very good all the same. Lots of great ideas. A few recipes to try. Wish there had been more. Very well laid out. Funky looking and modern

This was a fun little cookbook on how to throw different types of events with some Schitt's Creek flair added in. I do wish there had been a few more recipes in this book.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

This was colorful and felt like it spoke in the vein of Schitt’s Creek but it wasn’t what I expected. I thought this would be more like a cookbook for Schitt’s Crewk themed events. There were not many recipes in this book. Not even a guarantee that every chapter/party had a recipe. Some parties suggested buying ready made food or only had drink recipes. I actually came back and reread the description of this book after finishing to make sure I wasn’t judging it based on my own misunderstanding of the book. But after rereading the description I still think it’s fair to assume there would be more recipes than there are.
There are also zero pictures of the recipes. I don’t think the recipes included were actually on the show, but they do fit the theme of the parties mentioned in the book.
I will also say that while the book reminds me of Schitt’s Creek I wasn’t sure who’s voice it was supposed to be written in. First I saw Moira as the narrator, then I realized it was more like a person talking *about* Schitt’s Creek in the conversational style of someone on the show.
I like the idea but I feel like it’s missing something. Though the recipes included do sound like they’d be good.
I read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

This is a must for any Schitts Creek fan! It is filled with references to various scenes and episodes and also has great recipes and legit tips for throwing parties and gatherings-everything from a movie night to a wedding and everything in between. There’s lots a fun pictures and fun tips on how to survive the various events. Of course it includes the recipe for Mothers Enchiladas and explains what it means to “fold in the cheese” and again, if you haven’t seen the show, none of this will mean anything to you, but the recipe itself sounds amazing!
This will make a fun gift for any Schitts Creek fan (hint: me) when it is published.

I thought this would be full of fun back stories about the show, the characters, and the actors, but that wasn't the case at all. The second chapter consists entirely of "tips" for hosting a backyard barbecue, which are 100% common sense. My TBR list is far too long to continue reading this book. I gave it a good skim and am moving on!

LOVE THIS! If you're a fan of Schitt's Creek, you need to read this book for entertaining. The recipes were fun, but the real gems are the million and one references from the show in the descriptions of party planning and event tips. The illustrations were darling and it is clear that this is written with genuine love and appreciation for the show and all it gives us! Every fan needs a copy of this one!

Absolutely hysterical! Fun for fans of Schitt's Creek and non-fans. Sprinkled with jokes and bits from the show, it also has recipes, and descriptions of how to make each type of party a success.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Maybe my expectations for this book were too high, but this book was between 3 and 3.5 stars for me.

I think it's a fun gift for Schitt's Creek fans, but am not sure about the practicality. The book is written as a true entertaining book - there's instructions not just for recipes but for decorations and planning based on the event that you're hosting. The book is sprinkled with references and jokes from the show and tips on how to host events featured in the show like a BBQ, baby shower, or day hike. There are recipes based on the show to align with each themed event, but not as many as I expected. Overall it's a fun and cute read, but not something I personally would get a lot of use out of.

This book is so quirky! If you are a fan of Schitt's Creek, you will recognize the episodes each chapter is based on. Lots of good tips for entertaining as well as a recipe or 2!

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC of Fold in the Cheese by Parker Long in exchange for an honest review.

This is the definitive guide to hosting all types of gatherings, extra-Rose style. This was funny, entertaining, well-researched with frequent nods to even the smallest details of the Schitt's Creek universe.

This is for sure a fun book to own, and one that would be a great coffee table book for occasional perusal. I read this entire book in the voice of Moira Rose, the tone was definitely high class. It's a fun novelty book, but reading it all the way through gets repetitive. I would recommend using it as a reference and idea guide rather than a straight up "book". But we love a pop culture moment, and this is a must have for any die hard Schitt's Creek fan.

Perfect gift for schitt's creek fans. At first I was disappointed by the lack of recipes, but then I was brought back to the episodes and stopped caring. Perfect read if you miss thr Rose family and feel like smiling
