A saga of sorts that follows a Nam vet slash POW and a rising star, a Karen Carpenter type if you will, who meet and change each other's lives forever.
It’s a surprising tale of lost hope, of fear, of love, of healing, and most importantly redemption.

Both “KCs” our main leads are very rounded characters.
Kelly Allen Chase loses everything. His family, his fiancé, his sanity, and his very life. Very much like Job from the Bible.

Kaitlin is an upcoming star. Thrust into fame overnight. She seems to have it all but struggles with her new status and copes with it through unhealthy means.

My Thoughts…..

It was kind of funny right before I picked up this book. I wanted something new and different from what I had been reading. And I got way more than I bargained for. Saving KC is a refreshing and gripping tale. One that kept me turning pages for more. The story was interesting. The author is interesting. And if I understand correctly, this is his debut novel, and he’s done an excellent job. I hope he graces the world with more of his books very soon.

I am not sure how to review and rate this.

On one hand, it was so sweet - almost like a Hallmark movie. On the other hand, it was pretty dark in places. Then again it was written almost too simply. But I did get into the story and I may have even shed a tear or two..

Basically, this is a romance with a twist. A man is captured in Vietnam and tortured. His friends and family believe he is dead. He was engaged when he left, but now she is married to someone else. He doesn't want to upset her, so he makes everyone promise not to let her know he's alive. He then spirals down, and it's not pretty.

The story gives you a lot of his background which I really enjoyed. It brings you up through his romance, his being drafted, his ptsd and how he comes out the other side. But...again.. in an odd Hallmark-y kind of way..

So - how to rate it? Well, I really wanted to know what happened next and I teared up. But the writing style annoyed me -but not enough to stop reading..

I have to give it 4 stars. It was really a beautiful and emotional journey.

Thank you to the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review.

I loved this book. It was written amazingly. I could connect and picture the characters. I felt all the emotions and that I could really be there experiencing the world as it was happening. I loved Kelly Chase's character.
