I loved this book. I loved that the character decided she needed to put herself and kids first and seek professional help. It was realistic and refreshing. Easy to read and connect with.

With Neighbors Like This by Tracy Goodwin

Gnome is where the heart is.

Thank you to @dreamscape_media for a chance to read this #eARC. This was released August 2 and is available now on Amazon!

Amelia and her two kids have moved to a new neighborhood to start anew - looking for a fresh start post divorcing her ex-husband who broke her children’s heart by wanting nothing to do with his old family. Amelia quickly finds herself at odds with the management company for her development’s HOA over her lawn gnome, a sentimental addition to their yard. As she pursues action to have Carla removed from her post for the management company, Amelia finds herself falling for the HOA president. With all the balls Amelia is juggling she’s not sure if she is ready for romance. Will these two go their separate ways and ignore their blossoming romance or will Kyle prove to be her gnomeo?

This was a cute story. I would have liked a tad more spice but it was insightful about what single moms must go through to protect their kids and do what is best for them. All readers who live in an HOA have had a Carla figure and appreciate the struggle of gnome gate. I recommend this for those who appreciate a charming, no spice romance and enemies to lovers trope.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3/5

This was such a fun book about a recent divorcée trying to deal with her feelings as well as her childrens’, while finding herself in a full on war with the HOA representative after an unpleasant interaction regarding her handmade garden gnome.
I loved the kids in this book, and I actually hate kids, so that’s really saying something. They were so cute and I love the family dynamics and relationships.
The romance at the end was a little rushed but the book didn’t entirely focus on the romance anyway, so it wasn’t a deal breaker.

This was a really sweet and wholesome rom com. I loved the main character being the single mom, and let be honest there is always a mean girl who didn’t grow up. Very cute though, and the narration was great!

This one will give you all the feels from laughter to tears so be ready! Great narration brings the emotions even more to the forefront of the story to enhance this wonderful story of overcoming and realizing that you are enough. Being a single mom is hard, but being a single mom combating bullies on multiple levels, a checked-out ex who leaves his children distraught and juggling big emotions in little kids is almost more than this mom can handle, but will she realize she is doing well and can accept help from unlikely sources, or will she go down in flames? This book was seriously a great read or rather listen and I can't wait to listen to another book by this author!

What a sweet, funny rom com. The main character, Amelia is a recently divorced mom of 2. We are thrown right into her world of solo momming, and all the relatable hijinks that entails. When a community Easter celebration doesn’t go quite as expected, single mom Amelia doesn’t miss a beat. Kyle Sanders, dressed as the Easter Bunny, hops into her life when she needs a distraction the least. Their friendship, and banter hooked me, but Amelia’s character will stay with me.

As a main character, I really enjoyed Amelia’s endearing role. Her swear jar, suburb setting and fiercely navigating this uncharted territory as a solo parent were so well written, I felt my own heart aching.

Sometimes, I think a romance involving kids can be a little tricky to read. But Amelia and Kyle’s story naturally wove together in a way that made me smile, not cringe.

I felt invested in the Amelia’s suburban war, gnome-gate, and equally indignant about the main villain in this story.

This was a pleasure to read! This sets up nicely for a 2nd book. I can’t wait to read about Briget next!

Loved the narrator for this book. She did a great job adapting her voice to the different characters.
This book had some really good parts, but overall, I kind of found it problematic. I don’t think the world needs more stories if moms trying to be martyrs or shrill women who are bullies. The premise: a rather silly promise about a gnome in a yard, seemed, well silly. Just not really a book for me

It started with a gnome!

Amelia Marsh and her two children have relocated to a suburb of Houston hoping for a fresh start. After her divorce, she wants a nice home, good schools, and a welcoming community for herself and her children. But when her children's garden gnome violates the HOA rules, things get interesting!

Kyle Sanders is the HOA president who must uphold the rules while finding that he enjoys spending time with the Amelia and her children.

It's all about the journey folks with romance books and this was a cute, funny, endearing, and charming book. This book also touches on some difficult issues such as parenting, divorce, starting over and has an absentee parent.

I listened to the audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found myself making time to listen to this as I adored both the story and the narration.

Fun, charming and endearing.

This is a very sweet, wholesome, smut-free, rom-com. The characters were a bit on the unbelievable side due to how perfect they were imo, but if you need a love story that also restores your faith in humanity, this is one for you ❤️

Meet:

Amelia Marsh - a recently divorced single mom who’s number one priority is her kids. She has just moved back to her home town of Houston, where her best friends still reside and are an incredible support network for her. The story begins at an Easter event set in her new neighborhood where she meets the neighborhood villain and an Easter bunny with perfect abs 😍

Carla - the neighborhood villain who is the enforcer of the neighborhood’s HOA by-laws, and has taken issue with the gnome in Amelia’s yard. Hence the start of “Gnomegate”.

Kyle Sanders - the Easter bunny with perfect abs, who also happens to be the HOA President.

As Kyle finds himself in the middle of a raging war over the yard gnome, now known as Gnomegate, he finds himself falling for Amelia who is quickly becoming an expert on HOA bylaws as she fights to keep the gnome her children love, in their yard. But being the HOA President, he has found himself in the position of enemy to the fiercely determined mom and wonders if his feelings could ever be returned.

Amelia, as much as she tries to fight it, finds Kyle extremely kind and genuine and is struggling to find fault in him. Could love be a possibility with Gnomegate between them?! You’ll have to read to find out 😉

This was a cutesy book about a newly single mom moving to a new neighborhood with her two children who has to deal with HOA drama. I myself have had to deal with some major HOA drama so I figured I'd love this story. It was predictable at times but also dealt with some serious issues regarding being a single parent and how the children deal with the absence of their deadbeat dad. Overall it was a good and quick listen.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for access to this ARC.

I left this book wanting to be Amelia Marsh. She's a single mom who moves to a suburb of Houston in the wake of a divorce and just wants a little normalcy for her two kids. One of the ways she tries to do that is by displaying a garden gnome the kids made for her in their front yard. That runs afoul of the Homeowners Association in her neighborhood and that's where things take off. She tangles with the HOA after its representative informs her its a violation, and then proceeds to make catty comments, which Amelia overhears. Complicating matters is the HOA president, Kyle Sanders, who becomes friends with Amelia (but both clearly wish it could be more than that). Amelia's ride-or-die best friends are also a delight in the book, and are there for her in a way that had me cheering when they all show up for one another. Amelia's a fun character that I'd love to be friends with, and it was a fun read that I recommend.

This was such a fun romcom! A single mother doing her best to raise two adorable children gains a nemesis in her new neighborhood- the dreaded HOA management representative. However she also gains an amazing friend (and maybe more) in another member of the community. A great beach read! Thank you #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I wanted to love this one but it was just ok. I was expecting a bit more gritty humor but it was more fluffy. All in all, it was not a bad book and I would recommend it to people looking for a lighthearted romcom.

I couldn’t read this; I was hoping for a story with substance (something like Finley donnovan or when life gives you lululemon) but it was clear it was just another romance formula. I barely made it to 10% when already the woman was obsessively talking about some guys abs. I just can’t. Sorry!

This was a fun and funny story about a newly divorced single mom who moves into a new neighborhood and is stuck fighting against the HOA rules to keep a beloved gnome. Lots of laughs with some romance in the form of the HOA president, I really enjoyed this women's fiction/love story perfect for fans of Christina Hovland's Mommy wars series. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced digital copies in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Tracy Goodwin for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book. To be honest I was on a thriller kick and mistakenly started this book but it was just the fresh novel I needed in the midst of all the suspense. I was rooting for Amelia throughout, understanding what it is like to deal with an ex who cheats and then chooses not to be involved in their children's lives or care about their best interests. I loved that Tracy Goodwin wrote about this and the pain it can put on a parent dealing with this. I also appreciate that Amelia's family and taking care of her kids was always the priority and that Kyle respected that. The HOA drama was enjoyable to read and I know I was cheering for the Carla take-down throughout. Maybe I'll go buy a gnome in solidarity? Hopefully my HOA doesn't have a Carla. ;)

Amelia is freshly divorced and moved back to her hometown to start a new. She's trying her best, but when the HOA representative get's on her back about every little thing she does, she can't help but try and take her down, afterall it's just a little gnome in her yard, and the rep is crossing the line. But HOA president Kyle and all around class act, and neighborhood hottie befriends Amelia even though he has a no-date rule on women with kids. Can he follow his rule? Will Amelia win the battle of the Garden Gnome? Can she get her

This was such a fun and enjoyable listen. We get romance, we get some catty HOA drama's and on top of it all cute little kids. This was such a nice well rounded story and a quick read overall.

Thanks to the publisher for the ALC in return for an honest review.

This book was cute but just not for me I'm not a fan of romance but I understand dealing with a frustrating HOA.
