I want to start by saying that I recieved an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was hesitant about this book at first since I typically steer clear of books that involve Domestic Violence but I am glad I read this story.

I loved watching the main character Hannah develop and become more confident as she navigated life after escaping her abusive husband with her daughter Ava. I always love the trope of the guy doing everything in his power to make sure the FMC feels safe and secure and in my opinion Brody was a perfect MMC.

Someone Like You
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book yall. Add it to your TBR right now!

Hannah is on the run with her baby girl, Ava. We don’t know all the details but we do know that Hannah is strong and fierce and an amazing mother. We know that she’s running from her scum of the earth partner, Victor. And that she’s trying to lay low in her new town.

That all changes in the local park when someone attempts to steal her purse. Enter police officer, Andrew Brody. Hannah immediately catches his eye. But don’t be fooled, this book is so much more than a romance. It’s a gritty, fight for yourself novel that truly shows the growth a person can have through adversity. The strength of a woman is an amazing thing!

Catch this one hitting selves September 21st!

I quite enjoyed this but at times the style of writing was a bit like an essay. The characters were well written, Brody and John were superb characters and the lead Hannah was portrayed well. I would recommend but felt something was missing x

I loved this book - it was such a unique concept and a storyline that I hadn’t read before.

I loved Hannah and Brody as main characters - I especially thought Brody (and John) were both very sensitively written in how they acted around Hannah in light of her past and I loved this. Brody never felt overbearing or the romance too much after what Hannah had been through.

Many times I was holding my breath waiting to see what would happen next and couldn’t put the book down.

What a cute and heart warming book! Very easy to get lost in, I read in 2 days. I loved the characters, the setting, and the dog. Very well written, highly recommend. A big thanks to NetGalley, Team Harper Collins UK, and Rachel Dove for letting me read an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Not knowing much about this book, I requested it because of the adorable cover. I expected a cute rom-com that was fun and light, but this book gave a lot more than that. Dove takes you through a single mom’s journey to keep her and her daughter safe from an abusive husband. Hannah and her daughter Ava move to Leadsham for a fresh start. Hannah is a determined, strong woman who would do anything for her young daughter. The mother/daughter duo meet some amazing people in the small town and as a reader I really enjoyed every single character.

When reading about the relationships Hannah develops with such wonderful people it kept bringing me back to the quote “it takes a village”. She truly meets strangers that turn into friends who support and help her when she needs it most. The way these relationship were written was something I enjoyed the most about this book.

Of course there is also a love relationship that comes into play and you cannot help but root for Hannah and Brody! He is everything she deserves after such a terrible relationship she is trying to escape. You could really feel how hesitant she was about trusting Brody based off of her past and is a theme that is well portrayed throughout the book as Hannah copes and moves on.

The story does start off a bit slow and I found myself waiting and waiting for something to happen. The dialogue also was a bit confusing and it was hard to understand who was saying what at times.

I would like to extend a special thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, who provided me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book far exceeded any expectations I had. I loved the relationships Hanna built with those in Leadsham, particularly Ruby and Martine. A super lovely read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this read. Whilst the narrative may be formulaic, the characters are warm and bring joy to the reader - the real reason for reading. One to curl up with and devour quickly.

This book follows Hannah and her daughter Ava who are just escaping an abusive relationship and starting their new lives in Leadsham. Shortly after arriving in town Hannah meets Brody a police officer who came to her rescue when someone Muggs her. Instantly Broady is drawn to her and wants to get to know her better.
.
This book was so adorable, I loved brody so much and how he took care of and brought Hannah and ava in as they were going through a difficult time. I found Brody and Hannahs's relationship to be so incredibly sweet but there were definitely times when I just wanted it to be sped up just a little bit. I love how brody didn't rush Hannah to open up or force himself into the position of avas dad. This book was so real and honest, I liked how open this book dealt with the topics of domestic violence and how well the topic was handled.
.
overall I really enjoyed this book it was a super fast-paced book that handled difficult or "taboo" topics well.

Cute and heart warming read that you can easily get lost in! 💫

I wish this novel had a summary on the GR page as usually novels do.
Especially as this was such a cute fluffy read.

Be aware this novel involves physical abuse and overcoming it.

This novel is a heart warming read about Hannah and her baby daughter Ava who have moved to Leadsham, a small town for the fresh start they need. Not long in, they meet Broady (also known as Andrew) , a police officer who is a gentleman and has been drawn to her since he laid his eyes on her.
There is so much cuteness within this, the friendships as well and the love they are showing Hannah and Ava, two strangers who have arrived at their village. This novel mentions the serious topics in a nice way. As in, I wouldn’t normally pick up a novel that would mention it but it done so in a not ‘in your face’ type of way.

I agree with others where the dialogue was a bit confusing with no he or she said.

Normally novels fill you in on what was done over the last few weeks I felt this could have been done a bit better.

If you are looking for a slow romance as well as rebuilding yourself then, this novel is it.

What Can I say about this wonderful book? This always happens to me when a book draws not only my attention, but capturesstrongly my heart since the first sentences of the story. The main content and message of the narrative is delicate and necessary to be approched with more frequency, and the writer has made an amazing job building the background to this unverse. The character are pretty structured as well, and We can relate all the emotions and feelings designed here. I truly loved Brody and Hannah and their bond with little Ava e buddy Bullet. And also, the secondary characters leave nothing to be desired. The only thing really lacking for me to end with a high note, was about the rushed ending, I felt like I wanted to see them married and happy a little more in the epilogue, because we were following all the hard journey of Hannah's freedom, So...I was expecting to see more and more of the happy life of the family, But overall, I was truly satisfied with the narrative that's really worth the Reading. Lots of love for this one!

Someone Like You by Rachel Dove is a delightful romance story.
I am still grinning from ear to ear after finishing this book.
A completely fun-filled story filled with witty banter, delightful characters.
I really enjoy Rachel Dove's characters. I think they have great chemistry together, and I think she does a great job of creating memorable characters. Hannah and Andrew I adored and was rooting for these two the entire way.
The town of Leadsham was charming and made me feel right at home.
I absolutely devoured every single word. With a unique ability to blow me away emotionally, Dove does it here with this one.

What I love is the writing, great descriptive detail of the character’s emotion. Whether she is in distress/anxious/happy I feel it as am writing. The writing is so good at some parts I didn’t realize I was holding my breath.

The dual point of view was a bit confusing during mid-chapter. Some kind of divider could work to distinguish the end of on POV and the start of the next. That is my only critique, overall really good book!

Domestic violence and its repercussions handled in a very sensitive way. The bruises may fade but the mental legacy still holds.
Building a new identity and refuge in a new town. Finding work, a home and friends is hard but courageous.
Follow the inspiring story as a new life unfolds.

Someone Like You by Rachel Dove has a fantastic title and what drew me to this book was that it was a romance but centered around trauma. The male protagonist handles this well. He is a trained police officer but it's his innate compassion that allows our female protagonist to let him into her life.

They both make each other better and grow to trust. It is a lovely story with a beautiful HEA.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher HQ for the opportunity to read and review this lovely story.

I thought that this was a sweet story about opening yourself up to love despite enduring a really hard situation. Brody shows how much he cares for Hannah and Ava through being helpful, consistent, and supportive, and kind is endearing, and I enjoyed reading about their journey together!

A book with a heavy topic (TW DV), but the main character escapes with her baby and even falls in love again.

Beautifully written and handled
