Finlay and Vero are at it again in this delightful mystery, and this time all while attending a police training camp for civilians.

Vero owes a substantial amount of money to some not so honest people, meanwhile Feliks is behind bars, but has given Finlay an order to find the contract killer. Believing that it could be a cop, the two bundle the kids off to their father's place, and enroll in citizens' police training camp, which Nick just happens to be heading up after being shot in the line of duty.

Finlay Donovan is my newest guilty pleasure. She is Stephanie Plum, but with a diaper bag, an idiot ex-husband, and a crazy nanny. I enjoy every installment of her bizarre adventures, and her crazy schemes. In each book, poor Finlay falls deeper down the rabbit hole of accidental crimes committed, and this one is no exception. Giving them police training in firearms and forensics is just the icing on the cake, and is this book we get to see much more of Nick and sister, Georgia, which makes the book all the more fun. Elle Cosimano has penned a gem in this one.

Thanks so much to St Martin's Press and to Netgalley for providing me an ARC of this book.

Happy Publication Day, Finlay! 🎉

4.5 ⭐️- Finlay; you are my favorite. If you know anything about me and my reading preferences, I don’t often choose series. I find it hard to commit BUT Finlay Donovan is my favorite commitment.

Finlay and Vero are at it again! This time, they find themselves employees by mob boss Feliks to identify a contact killer. They join the police citizen’s academy to research for Finlay’s newest book, learn how to “be a cop” and also potentially take some down? Will being a cop for a week help them take down the contact killer or make their situation worse?

I love this series. I hope it never ends…and that’s a lot coming from someone who doesn’t pick series. It’s thrilling, mysterious, sometimes far fetched, but also hilarious. Finlay and Vero are the most hilarious and clever partners in crime and I love following them through their hijinx, adventures, and suspicions of the other characters. I can’t recommend this series enough!

Thank you Netgalley and Minotaur Books for a copy of this digital ARC.

OKAY this was my favourite Finlay yet. It picks up *immediately* following book 2 (yes, you need to read these in order). I found this to be the most fast-paced, the funniest, and most romance-y of the three. Finlay and Vero are such a fun duo, I love their commitment to each other and the strength of their friendship.

I love this series! It is so creative and full of humor. I have to say that this is the best book in the series! Every chapter had me laughing out loud as Finlay and Vero tried to get themselves out of each predicament. I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put the book down! I read it in one sitting because I had to know what happened next. I loved the new characters introduced in this story. My favorite was Wade and I often felt sorry for Javi. The ending was very suspenseful and set up the next book nicely. I can’t wait to read where Finlay and Vero end up next!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Welcome back to the Finlay and Vero show!
This is book 3 in the series and I am here for it!

I loved this book! I was laughing so hard and my soul really needed it.
Finlay and Vero are still doing their thing….trying to always get out of trouble while also getting into more. I can't believe their luck! 🤣

There was some great developments and breakthroughs in this book: professionally and romantically for Finlay, and also emotionally for Vero.
And Georgia is so wonderful! I want more of her! She is funny, supportive, and a badass cop! All the extra cops in this one were a fun new twist!
Steven 🤦🏼‍♀️. Why?

If you have not read this series yet, please jump in and join the fun!

I give this book all the tackle hugs! I hope you enjoy it too!

I just love Finlay and her antics. I adore the first book, the second one was just ok, and this one was great. However, I need the next book stat. I enjoy a good series, but I don't love abrupt endings. Yes, it wrapped up a huge part of this story and obviously the series isn't done but the ending felt more like the end of a chapter than the end of a book.

Now to patiently wait until 2024 for book 4!

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin's Press / Minotaur Books, and. Elle Cosimano for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely LOVE the Finlay Donovan series! These books are so fun and entertaining and the perfect cozy/popcorn mystery! With that said, this wasn't my favorite book in the series. It dragged for me a bit in places and felt like it took awhile to get going, but once it did I was hooked! Even though I didn't love this one as much as the previous two, it doesn't change my overall love for this series! I still thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend this series!

It seems like we're set up for a fourth book after this one and I personally can't wait until Finlay makes another comeback!

Solid 4 star read for me!

I have mixed thoughts on this one! I am a huge lover of this series. I didn’t know going into this one that there would be another book in the series. I assumed it would finish with this one. This book definitely felt like a middle book. By that I mean, it dragged and while it was still fun and over the top it was really slow. I feel like everything could have been wrapped up and honestly, I don’t think another book is needed. It also felt very repetitive and the back and forth between characters was starting to bug me. However, the narrator killed it like always! She was fantastic and I hope she does the fourth book. Overall, I would still highly recommend this series. When it comes to series not every book is going to be great unfortunately some will be lacking and that’s how this one was. This review might sound negative but it’s only because I have mixed thoughts. I still am looking forward to the next book and am excited to see what kind of mess these characters get themselves into.

I just love the Finlay Donovan series and I was so excited to read this third installment! This book picks up right from the end of the 2nd book so I would highly recommend that you read the other books first.

Finlay is a single mother who writes thriller novels. She and her side-kick Vero always seem to find themselves in crazy situations that end up with them finding dead bodies! This time around they are enrolled at a Citizens Police Academy in order to track down "EasyClean" for the mobster, Feliks Zhirov, or he is going to exploit their past involvement in some shady shenanigans! There's lots of twists and turns, not knowing who they can trust or who was the bad guy…even the ending leaves you with questions!

While I absolutely love this series, it took a minute for me to fully get into this book but once I did, I couldn't put it down. This book did not disappoint. It is full of laugh out loud moments as well as “what are you thinking” moments. This hilarious duo keeps you wondering what trouble they will get into next!

I am glad that Finlay FINALLY took her relationship with Nick to the next level. It is one the longest slow-burns that I have ever read(not that it is a bad thing). I am a proud member of Team Nick! I hope that Finlay and Nick's relationship continues to blossom. I would also love to get to know Vero more too. It would make my romantic heart happy to see Vero and Javi get together too.

I look forward to reading the next Finlay Donovan book!

Finlay Donovan is back book friends! I fell in love with Finlay and her wingwoman Vero in the first book, Finlay Donovan Is Killing It. It was subversive humor about a single mom trying to co-parent with her ex, finish a book, and inadvertently gets mistaken for a hit woman while lunching with her agent at Panera. This catches her in a bit of trouble with the Russian mob. I loved the premise and was completely drawn in when I realized I know this setting! The Panera, the sod farm, these neighborhoods, all very familiar. The ability to mentally place myself in the settings added a dimension I wasn’t expecting. I think this universal feeling is part of the beauty of Cosomino’s writing. I’ve been a huge fan ever since!
In this third book we find Finlay is coerced by mob boss Felicks to find the identity of a contract killer before the cops do. This puts her directly in the line of Nick, who she’s been avoiding. Their chemistry is undeniable but Finlay sees no future between them. She’s been involved in some shady things and he’s a police officer. Vero and Finlay attend a week long citizens police academy under the guise of research for her next book. Their real plan is to observe the trainers and try to uncover the killer. Cosimano serves all of this up with her trademark humor. I love the connection and loyalty between Finlay and Vero. Nick may be the ‘hot-cop’, but Finlay and Vero are the real love story here.
I recommend to those that have enjoyed previous Finlay Donovan books, lovers of cosy mysteries, those that enjoy stories about strong women friendships.
Thank you to Minotaur Books, Elle Cosimano, and Netgalley for the advance reader copy.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was a fun read. It's a continuation of the first two books and starts with Vero and Finlay still stuck until the mob bosses thumb until they can find EasyClean.

Vero's trouble in Atlantic city is hanging over them and they need to find the money to pay off her debt.

They run into Nick and decide to go to the police academy to research for Finlays book and find EasyClean. Seems easy right?

This book was hilarious in the way that everything always goes wrong. I'm happy I read it but it was my least favorite of the three.

It seems they've set it up for a fourth book! I'll definitely be diving in.

Thank you to Netgalley and St Martin's Press for the arc.

Overall, the book was a decent read. There was definitely a lot of action in terms of Finlay and Vero trying to stay out of trouble and undetected while sleuthing.

Finlay and Vero are still under the thumb of mob boss Feliks while also hiding from someone who is after Vero. The citizen’s police academy seemed like the perfect place to remain hidden while also being able to do some research for Feliks. Unfortunately for them, as per usual, trouble follows Finlay and Vero no matter where they are.

The story had some entertaining parts, but also some situations that seemed a little too far-fetched and unbelievable to me. In this series, you expect a certain amount of that just because of the “bad luck” the two seem to have, but this book pushed that a little too far, in my opinion.

The cliffhanger at the end of the story leaves me anticipating where Finlay’s and Vero’s adventure will take them next, but also sad that now we have to wait for book #4.

Since I was unable to read the 2nd book (still on the waitlist from my library), there was a lot of confusing elements at first. The story hints at/talks about events that occurred in the 2nd book of this series so I would definitely recommend reading them in order if possible.

I absolutely love this series. What a wonderful conclusion - even though I am sad the series is ending.

I tend to read mostly thrillers and mysteries, so I'm no stranger to action, gore, and fear. So this mystery is a bit lighter than what I usually read, but that did not mean it did not keep my attention. It moves quickly, has lots of twists, turns, red herrings and whodunits. Just a solidly good mystery. But the additional elements - the humor, the sarcasm, the romance - really take it over the top.

I also really appreciate the strong female friendships and relationships in this book. I found Finlay approachable and relatable, even though we have little (practically nothing!) in common. We've all be an exasperated woman dealing with *too much* - too much to do, too many expectations, etc.

In addition to Finlay, I love the other characters in this book, particularly her bestie/nanny/housekeeper - her intelligence and loyalty is the best.

I’ve enjoyed this series from book one, and I feel like they just keep getting better and better. In Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, we have Finlay and Vero getting themselves into more trouble, but this time they’re doing it at the citizen’s police academy. All you #teamnick fans know that means…we get more of him in this book!

I thought this book was an entertaining read and found myself laughing out loud at times while reading it. I listened to the audiobook, and I really enjoy Angela Dawe as the narrator. If you think Finlay and Vero can’t get themselves into more trouble, think again!

The book starts out with a really funny scene and got funnier as it went along. I was happy to see more of Nick and to get to know his character better. I’m glad Julian made an appearance because I was originally #teamjulian. We do see some growth with Finlay’s character in this book which was nice. The book ends on a cliffhanger so that means we’re getting a fourth book, and I honestly can’t wait!

The dynamic duo strikes again for the third time and I am living for it! It is so hard to write a review on this book without giving too much away but I will say Vero and Finlay have not failed to find trouble and I'm hoping this series continues! Their escapades are chaotic, dangerous, and full of entertainment. Vero had me LOL'ing at times and Finlay had me rooting for her love life. I loved all of the supporting characters. I kept changing my mind on who EasyClean was and was VERY surprised at the twist. Cozy and a little thrilling, I'm happy I had the opportunity to read these two besties continue to solve mysteries.

“You are desirable and sexy and smart. But you’re also resourceful, resilient, and courageous as hell, and any partner who doesn’t see all of you isn’t seeing the most amazing parts.”

I think this series has run its course. It’s a fun, quick read, but there’s not any growth with the characters. The hi-jinx felt even more unbelievable this time. I mean, they were surrounded by a bunch of police the entire time! That said, it was still an entertaining read. And to be honest, I’ll most likely read the next one since this left off on a cliffhanger.

First off this is the 3rd book in the Finlay series. The first two books were fun, fast pace reads! I loved them. With that being said I was SO excited to continue to read Finlay’s journey and was hoping to hear more about her relationship with Nick and what her life was going to end up like.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t as much spice as the last two books. I was really hoping for her relationship to grow more with Nick. I also thought in some areas the book did drag on and was hoping the setting was going to change and it never did. I was surprised on how it ended. I don’t want to give away too much but all in all I think if you enjoy Finlay and Vero your going to have fun reading more about there crazy, chaotic, life!

What a fun book!
I’ve loved following along on Finn’s adventures, and this third book in the series was full of fun, mystery & laughs.

If you haven’t picked these books up yet…well, you’re missing out!
You never know what you’ll get with Finn & Vero, two best friends whose lives are full of shenanigans and scheming. Their world is so so entertaining and their friendship is the definition of ride or die.

This book was full of characters (which sometimes I couldn’t keep straight, but that’s jus this I am when books have more than three people in them), but it also let my brain run wild thinking of different theories about where this story was heading- and the ending came as a surprise.

One great thing about this series is the characters continue through all the books- so it’s really fun to keep finding out more about them as the story unfolds.

The plot is over the top and wild, but I just learned to let go of reality with this one and enjoy the ride.

Finlay Donovan may seem like your everyday, ordinary mom….but there’s nothing ordinary about her, and I can’t wait to see what kind of craziness she gets herself into next!
