Another fun Finlay book, but my least favorite so far. I feel that the series has lost some of its magic and is starting to get repetitive. How many of these ridiculous situations can Finley and Vero get into and out of? I wasn’t a huge fan of the police academy part of the plot. I did like that Finlay finally chose a man to commit to rather than stringing two along.

This might be one of my favorite “thriller” series I’ve ever read. I have so much fun with it and allow myself to relax and stop being critical and just enjoy my favorite hobby- reading.

In the Finlay Donovan series, we’re following Finlay. Finlay is a writer, who is recently divorced with two young children. We meet her when she has writer's block, and her editor is on her case for her next book. As the novel proceeds Finlay goes through a series of mishaps with her friend Vero who follows her around during all of her hijinks.

In this book, the third installment, we meet up with Finlay and Vero again. They’re up to their old tricks and Finlay’s got another book due. Can they pull everything off that they have planned, and can Finlay finish her book?
Only time will tell.

I love this series for a few different reasons. I am glad to say that I enjoyed this installment better than the second. I was so sad to not have enjoyed (KNOCKS EM DEAD) as much as (KILLING IT). But this one turned the minivan around and I cannot wait for their next adventures…fingers crossed.

I recommend this book and this series to all readers. It has helped to rejuvenate my love of reading and remind me that it’s ok to smile every once in a while and enjoy what I’m reading.

FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN…⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finlay and Vero are attempting to get out of the messes they made in the prior two books, while continuing to wreak havoc while they do it. It's wildly entertaining.

This book picks up right where the second left off and is action packed and fast paced. If I have any regrets it's that I didn't re-read the first two prior to listening - the details from the prior books were a bit blurry and so that was a mistake on my part. This book was fun and sets it up perfectly for a fourth book - I will definitely listen to the first three on audiobook prior to jumping into the next installment. I loved how big of a part Nick played in this book and that we explored that romance more. I definitely did not guess the bad guys correctly and really want an open question answered, so I will be sticking with this series!

Overall this is a fun series and this was a great addition! It's basically the book version of the Netflix show Dead to Me - if anyone wants to turn this series into a TV show I would gladly watch it.

This series is just hysterical. Finlay and Vero get into the biggest messes then they have to figure out how to get out of them! This is the 3rd book in the series and I hope there is a long life for this series! I love the characters and all the fun they have! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

First and foremost, thank you for an advanced copy of this book! I love this series so much and am so happy I didn’t have to wait an entire year to read the next one. I am OBSESSED with Finlay and this one was, of course, no exception. I literally cannot get enough of the Finlay and Vero duo. These two get themselves into such shenanigans and it makes for such an entertaining read. As with the first two books in this series, it ends with a cliffhanger so I'm happy to know there's another Finlay Donovan book coming to us in the future! Definitely recommend this series (must read in order!) to anyone looking for a suspense novel but make-it-funny. These books keep me laughing the whole way through.

In this story, Finlay and Vero is finding the identity of Easy Clean under time deadline and must find a way for Vero to repay her debt.

Lot of shenanigans between these two and we also see Nick in this story. I love the tension between Nick and Finlay and seeing if they end up together.

The narration was great and I so need this book to become a movie.

While I did enjoy the third book in this series I found that it is starting to get repetitive. It feels as though it is being dragged out. I still love the characters just wish the plot was moving faster.

I never read book #1, but I read book #2 just about a year ago so I remembered the characters and some of their shenanigans, which continue into this novel. Although the author does bring in some back story, a new reader might still be lost.
In this tale, Finlay (the protagonist) and her sidekick/nanny/accountant, Vero, sign up for a citizens' police academy, organized and led by Finlay's love interest, Nick, the hot cop on whom she bases a character in her romantic suspense novels. But Finlay and Vero have an ulterior motive for taking the course. They are beholden to a Russian mob boss, Feliks Zhirov, and to get off the hook, they've been asked to unmask EasyClean, an online assassin-for-hire. Finlay suspects EasyClean might be a cop, so what better way to sniff him out than mingle with the force in the training camp?
Finlay's career as a novelist is closely tied to her personal life, and her agent isn't happy with how the latest book is going; in fact, her editor is withholding her advance pending a more satisfying ending. The relationship with Nick progresses in this volume, which should please her agent and publisher.
The core mystery--who is EasyClean?--was well done, with suspicion cast on multiple characters. The ending is like a roller coaster, with twists and turns until it's over. But, spoiler alert, it's not.
Recommended as a fun read.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun follows Finlay and Vero over the course of a week where they're participating in the citizens police academy (being led by Nick). Feliks, the mob boss who Finlay's shenanigans have her tangled up with, has a looming threat of turning Finlay over to the police unless she can figure out the identity of EasyClean before the week is up.

This was a RIDE. Couldn't put it down because I was having too much fun reading. I love these characters. Finlay and Vero are such an iconic duo and they constantly have me in stitches. On top of being hilarious and kind of ridiculous, Elle Cosimano manages to make the stakes feel super high. I'm having lots of fun, but I'm on the edge of my seat nervous for these characters at the same time. The somewhat isolated setting of the police academy gave the story an added thrill.

The ending of every book in this series gives me the same feeling as a season of my favorite show ending on a cliffhanger. I'm so sad I have to wait a whole year to find out what happens next, but I'll gladly keep reading as long as Elle Cosimano keeps writing!

This is the third book in the series of the Finlay Donovan adventures, and it was just as much fun as the first two! Finlay and Vero are both in trouble with the mob boss, Felik, who wants them to identify someone known as EasyClean, a contact killer, presumably so he can kill him. Finlay is also trying to finish a book and her publisher is hounding her as she is once again past her deadline. In order to try to identify EasyClean, Fnlay and Vero end up at the police academy for a week's stay at a civilian training course. And the hot cop is back and teaching at the police academy!

It seems all the characters are always suspects, always in danger, and always lying. Everyone has secrets. There are some hilarious situations and some tense moments. Loved the beginning scene with Finlay's toddler - it made me laugh out loud.

If you haven't picked up a book in this series, I encourage you to give it a try. The books are good reads with a great deal of laughter and also some good mystery.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series so much, and this book did not disappoint! Book 3 has it all- hilarious hijinks, romance, suspense, and a rising body count.

Finlay and Vero are back at it again as mob boss Feliks has ordered them to find and uncover EasyClean- or else! Soon they find themselves signed up for a week long citizens police academy run by hot cop Nick, who FInlay is determined not to fall for. While trying to stay off the radar at the police academy, the partners in crime try to pay their debts, dodge the mob, and uncover EasyClean. They are fast becoming the stars of the police academy- will that be their final downfall? FInlay's kids are more than a handful, and her ex-husband has always been a pain-but now he wants more. Vero's past is catching up with her in more ways than one. Who can they trust?

I highly recommend this book!The twist and turns throughout the book and the ending were so good, I can't wait for the 4th book!

FINLAY DONOVAN I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!

Every time I read a Finlay book I become obsessed with the story and the characters. This one was fast paced and exciting with a new twist at every turn and I devoured it in one weekend! Police camp with Nick? SIGN ME UP! I am Team Nick for life. And that PLOT TWIST at the end, I need to know what happens next STAT. I loved this book from start to finish. My only wish is that I didn't have to wait for the next one LOL!

Firstly, I am a BIG Elle Cosimano fan!!! When I went into this book, I didn't know how it would measure up against the last two (the second one was my favourite!), but omg this book is everything I could ask for. It has humour, suspense, friendships, an annoying ex-husband, a hot cop, a delicious lawyer (he truly has my heart... sorry nick) and SPICE!!! I really enjoyed this book not just because of the "guess who" plot but because I genuinely like the characters and was invested in learning more about them. The only part I hate is that I now have to wait until I see how the cliffhangers turn out.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is another entertaining book in the series.

You just never know what Finlay and Vero will be getting up to, the trouble they will get themselves into and out of (though its close at times).

Book 3 does not disappoint as Finlay and Vero try to find out the identity of Easy Clean who just happens to be a hitman.

Perhaps its a police officer so off to they go to attend a citizens program at the Police Academy.

I cheered for the girls, I laughed with them and at them and I tried warning them to no avail.

The ending is perfect and leaves you eagerly anticipating Book 4 in the series.

Back again!!! I truly love this series so much. Finlay Donovan is the anti-hero we all want to be. Hilarious, thrilling, sexy, I loveddddd this book! Finlay is back and she and her live in nanny Vero both have issues. The third book in this series takes place at a citizens police camp because, why not! Her steamy romance with Detective Nick is back and they are hotter than ever. Gah, I just love these books! I want 10 more!

Finlay and Vero are back with more plans, more chaos and even more danger in Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun. The third installment in the series picks off pretty much where the second book ends. Finlay and Vero need to get rid of their competition or become victims themselves.

While I do think this is the slowest book in the series so far it does the most to expand Finlay's universe. Jumps the Gun introduces new characters with their own plot lines and also brings back some familiar faces that readers will love but also dread. Taking this wide cast of characters to a new setting of a police academy adds the prefect amount of tension and entertainment to the mix.

The heart and success of the Finlay Donovan novels for me really lies in the dynamic duo of Finlay and Vero. Their relationship and banter is what most of the books seem to be built on and I really enjoy that. The two are back in action in full force once again and they had me laughing way too many times reading this. I was also glad to see the love triangle finally end for the most part. It was nice for a bit, but Nick really does seem like the best choice for Finlay and I enjoyed getting to see more of him this installment and how their relationship started to blossom.

This book ends on a very clear cliffhanger and I can't wait to read what Cosimano comes up next for Finlay and her crew. I would read 50 Finlay Donovan books given the chance and I look forward to seeing her world brought to life on the screen.

I loved this one as much as, maybe even more than, the first two. It was fun, unrealistic in a perfectly realistic way (does that makes sense?). Finlay and Vera get themselves into impossible situations that no one would be able to manage, and yet they do. Of course it ends on of a cliffhanger, so we know a 4th book is coming. Number 4 will be at the top of my list when it is released!

Same craziness and laugh out loud moments as the other books! Not much more to say here, if you enjoy this series, you’ll love this one as well!

This one didn't quite live up to the previous books in the series. It felt like a little more filler with the ridiculousness and situations being dragged out unnecessarily long at times. I'm so glad with the direction the romance went in this one. The love square is over, thank goodness!! This was still a good read overall and it definitely follows in the same vein as the other Finlay Donovan books so readers who like all of the shenanigans should enjoy this one too.

This leads to some heart-thumping moments that also made me laugh. I wanted Nick and Finlay to get together, and the constant prodding from Vero on the subject was very entertaining. This book is great for anyone who enjoys suspense paired with funny and smart leading women!
