Another day, another Finlay Donovan mystery. As the hunt for EasyClean continues, Finlay and Vero find themselves stuck in the middle of the problem once again and time is running out. Feliks might be behind bars, but that doesn't mean that the threat isn't still there. As a new police academy boot camp opens to the public, the team figures out this is their best shot at uncovering EasyClean, a week surrounded by cops, what could go wrong. Although most choices made by the duo left me in shock and wanting to yell at them, I can't get over how entertaining the story is.

If you haven't read the first two, I highly suggest that you do as this one does not read as a standalone. The author does an amazing job adding in minor details to remind you what happens in the first two, but you'd need to read them in order to get the full picture. The first two books I had read via audiobook, so it took me awhile to get into this one!

If you're into realistic and probable plots, this one is a little far out there, it seems like more things were piled up, and the plot of this one got a little muddled for me! I enjoyed the open-ending, for hopefully, another Finlay and Vero adventure.

Let’s just keep this series going. I’m here for another Finlay Donovan book. I really enjoy the authors writing style and she always keeps me pleasantly entertained!

3.5 stars, rounded up.
I don't know if it's because I typically listen to these on audio, or if I'm just becoming bored with the series, but I didn't like this one as much as the first two. It just seemed way too far-fetched as I was reading. We are really supposed to believe random people can participate in a cop training sleepaway camp? Lol. The crazy antics were part of the fun for the first two, but it didn't work as well for me here. Of course I loved Vero and Finlay. I had no idea who easyclean was, so that did keep me guessing. Overall, I'm glad I read it, but I'll give it a try on audio and see if that changes my mind at all. I was a little disappointed that it ended in a cliffhanger. I think I was ready for some closure as I'm not a huge series reader normally. I will probably still read the fourth though since I did like the first two so much.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc!

Finlay Donovan is no stranger to unintended criminal mishaps. She and her partner-in-crime accidentally borrow and destroy a super expensive luxury car in an attempt to save her ex-husband life. Now she’s indebted to the Russian mob and her only hope to come out of this alive might have to involve her budding romance with a hot cop who has no idea how much criminal trouble Finlay has accumulated. I really enjoy this series (this being the 3rd installment). Finlay Donovan is the new Stephanie Plum. Can’t wait until the next book in the series.

I missed Finlay and Vero's antics!!

This part in the series wasn't my favorite because there was a bit less action and less mothering humor, but I still was entertained!

I love the banter between characters--especially Vero's snide remarks.

There were a few parts that sat uncomfortably with me though. For instance, was it necessary to have that guy wear a thong as a humorous bit? Also it's kinda obvious this is a pro-cop book, so that's whatever.

This was an easy and fun read. I enjoyed the dynamics between Finlay and Vero. Always getting into close calls while having witty banter. Unfortunately I forgot a lot of the ins and outs of the first two books so I was confused about a majority of the plot. But I was still intrigued and enjoyed guessing who the bad guy (guys) were. I also called who Easyclean was immediately. All in all this was fun and I’ll be interested in what happens.

Finlay and Vero return to solve yet another mystery in the third book of the FINLAY DONOVAN series. Now working under the intimidating and threatening mob boss Feliks, they are assigned the task of uncovering a contracted hitman, a killer. The only thing, however, is that this killer might actually be in the police force.

FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN was an enjoyable, lighthearted novel weaved with crime drama elements. Although I don't rate it as high as the previous novels in the series, I still found it enjoyable, and thought Elle Cosimano did a good job in maintaining the chaotic energy and charm of Finlay and Vero's adventures. Their moments together were ultimately the highlight of this book, and I know I'm already itching to have my hands on the next book because of how much I adore Finlay and Vero.

The romance was much more prominent in this book compared to the others, which I personally found endearing. It was lovely to see Finlay grow into this much more confident and self-assured person while navigating her own relationship with her chosen love interest. I liked seeing this other side of her, and I'm glad that we no longer have to deal with the cliché love triangle that started in the first novel.

As for my critique, I think this book is my least favourite. However, I also think the reason why that's the case is because I felt that the pacing was awfully slow, and that certain chapters felt uneventful, like fillers. The setting of the police camp felt out of place too, in spite of the fact that this series falls under the cozy mystery genre. I still am very much in love with the FINLAY DONOVAN series, and I can't wait to see what else is in store for our dynamic duo.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for this ARC and to Goodreads for my gifted copy of this fun book!

This is my new favourite series! This one had me laughing out loud and wishing for more at the end. Cannot wait for more Finlay and Vera, but hopefully less Steven and more Nick in the next one.

This is the third book in the series and I thought it was so much fun to read. Elle Cosimano’s writing is clever and witty. I love the relationship between Vero and Finlay. They have such a unique friendship and I like reading about all the crazy situations they get themselves in. There is mystery, some romance and I enjoyed the new characters added in. I did feel like this one started to lose my attention at certain parts and the setting was a little strange. Overall, it was an enjoyable read!

I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired about what Finlay and Vero are getting up to!
Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun is entertaining, and full of action and “research”. I really enjoyed trying to figure out who EasyClean is, because the clues pointed to a few different people.
And we definitely get more of hot cop Nick this time, and I hope we keep getting more of him!
The only thing I didn’t like, is Steven, who is obviously up to something.. and as much as I dislike him, I need to know what he’s up to.

I cannot wait to see what shenanigans Finlay gets up to next! Thank you to St. Martins Press for sending me an advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for review.

Let me preface this by saying Finlay Donovan is one of my favorite series - and I screamed when I got approved to read this. Finlay and Vero keep me constantly laughing - then add in the police academy in Jumps the Gun - and wow! a new and even more exciting layer to this dynamic duo. Each book gets better and better and this book may be my favorite yet - The hijinks and mayhem felt less over the top and the stakes could never be higher. The slow burn was achieved and many questions were answered... while unlocking new exciting ones. I cannot wait to see where book four takes us! And can we please see Finlay and her friends come to life already in the planned tv adaptation?! There were plenty of scenes in this book that would play out so well on screen!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books & NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this digital ARC

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was just as dynamic and enjoyable as the first two books in the series. I loved the quirky humor mixed with a page-turning mystery. The humor in these books is what keep me coming back for more. The romance is nice, but TBH i could use more spice :) I definitely plan to keep reading Finlay Donovan books. They are Stephanie Plum 2.0, and I am here for it.

Finlay and Vero, these two are killing me. Killing me with laughter, I mean. How much more trouble can they get into? A lot more, apparently. This is the third installment of the series and it’s just as good, if not better than the first two.

Finlay owes a favor to a Russian mob boss and Vero owes a huge sum of money to a loan shark. What to do, what to do? How about signing up for a Citizen’s Academy weeklong camp where they can track down the dirty cop they believe is “EasyClean”, a contract killer sought by mob boss, Felix Zhirov? Finlay figures she can also finish her book there, easy peasy. Of course, nothing is easy for these two. Hilarity ensues.

I’m completely hooked on this series and all it's characters. I cannot wait for the fourth book! If you haven’t read the first two books, please do so. Then grab yourself some snacks and settle in somewhere cozy to read this hysterically entertaining novel.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Finlay and Vero are back at it again, but this time, they are on the wrong side of the Russian mob. I have loved Finlay and Vero since the first book, and this one just added to that. They dynamic that they have between them is great, and we all wish we had someone we could trust as much as Finlay trusts Vero. This book had it all... friendship, mystery, action, and a little romance thrown in. Finlay and her hijinks always find a way to make me laugh out loud, and this book was no different. This is definitely a book I'd recommend, especially if you liked the first two!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the e-ARC of this book. It releases on January 31, 2023

When I saw there was a third book in this series I could not wait to request it on NetGalley. I was so happy to be accepted to read it! I absolutely adored the first two books in this hilarious and suspense series, so I knew I’d love this.
In Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun, Finlay and Vero are tasked to find out who “EasyClean”, the hit man from the second book, is and report it to Feliks. In doing so, they get invited to participate in a weeklong Citizens Police Academy. Finlay has to spend the whole week with her on again off again fling, Nick, and other police officers. As usual, Finlay and Vero get into so crazy schemes. They spy on police officers, hide bodies, and hot wire cars. Some of the situations are so ridiculous, you just can’t help but laugh. Is this book realistic? Absolutely not. Is it funny and thrilling? Yes! While I didn’t love it quite as much as the first two, it was still an incredibly fun read.

I have loved the previous books in the series, but I will admit that this one didn't do it for me. And I am wondering if the series is just getting to be too much at this point. These books are very unrealistic, but I didn't mind it until this one. I didn't like the story line as much as the other two which didn't help. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE the main characters in this book, and I was still giggling a ton and gasping at some parts. I just don't think the series can survive much longer because it's getting to be too much at this point. Because I love the characters so much, I would probably read more from Elle but I just don't think this one or the next potential books will be as successful as the first two.

Finlay Donavan never has to look for trouble, somehow trouble always finds her and her sidekick, Nanny.

Just when I think Finlay is adjusting to her new single life, in this 3rd installment about single mom Finlay Donovan, she finds herself in hot water.

I highly recommend you reading the first couple in the series, but the author does give you a little background so you have an idea of what a hot mess she is! She is a lovable character who is an author and her Nanny and partner in crime Vero find themselves caught up with the Russian mob.

The Russian mob boss Felik’s has contacted her to find a contract killer who is probably a cop. Finlay and Vero end up in a week long citizen academy where they along with others learn about firearms, crime scenes and training that police go through.

Another entertaining novel about Finlay and the ending leaves is wanting and hoping for another installment.

There’s no doubt that Elle Cosimano is a great author. The Finlay Donovan series is filled with well written wit, crazy schemes, and interesting side romances, and the third book is no exception to that! I honestly just think I am a little over this series and feel like it’s dragging out, but I think if you love Finlay and all the crazy things she gets up to, the third book is definitely for you! I personally don’t see myself continuing this series, but look forward to Cosimano’s future projects.

Another thrilling ride with Finland and Vero. I loved this book and read it in less than 24 hours. Buckle down for this one!

We meet with my Finlay and Vero determined to solve Veto’s legal issues and get out from under Felix’s thumb. The entire book is an adventure ranging from past places in books to a police academy.

I cannot wait to see what happens in book 4!
