This was a fun mix of a cozy mystery and a light romance. The characters are interesting, especially the fiery Vero, and I love seeing how their relationships evolve throughout the novel. The mystery was a bit predictable, but still compelling.

Finlay, Finlay, Finlay.

I truthfully don't know where to start other then as this series progresses the messes Finlay gets herself in become increasingly more chaotic, and truthfully I love nothing more.

Though as a reader I'm left wondering how does one even find herself in these situations I can't help but find myself hooked to every page as I am engulfed in this chaos hoping Finlay finds away out scathe free. At times I find myself completely forgetting how young Vero is because she is so reckless and impulsive. However, just like Finlay my dream ending will be the two off them, Thelma and Louise style, riding off into the sunset! Though I obviously hope my girl Finlay finds happiness!

This book did have a few too many cops in it for me, but I get it! I'm elated the Easy Clean story has come to a conclusion, but am now left with at least 17 more questions and find myself hoping that since Finlay never wrote the ending to her story maybe Elle Cosimano is also not quite finished with Finlay yet!!!!

(and truthfully I'm here for the potential of Steven to turn back into the true villain of this story because he rubs meeeee!)

The chaos continues! If you loved the other books in the Finlay Donovan series, I feel confident that you will like this newest addition as well.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun begins where the last book left off. Finlay and Vero are now in debt to the Russian mob and are on the hunt for the contract killer "Easy Clean" They are pretty sure Easy Clean is a cop so they join hot cop Nick's new citizen police academy. As you can imagine, nothing goes as planned. There are some real laugh out loud moments as Finlay tries to manage a book deadline, her kids, her friendship with Vero, her sister, her ex-husband, her situationship and even her ex-lover.

My one criticism is that the books feels a bit like filler. It is hilarious and tense at times but as the reader, you can tell that there won't be much resolution. This book's mystery is solved. "Easy Clean" is revealed. However, this is by no means the end of Finlay Donovan. We will be getting more of Finn and her messy life.

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the ARC!

3.5 stars rounded up..

Always fun, and like I have said before what the Stephanie Plum series used to be like.

A few new threads introduced here so I'm hoping they are followed up on in the next installment. I want more Vero, more character development beyond wanting to have sexy time with the cop. I want to know what Steven is up to. So all of this leaves me invested in more!

Mob boss Feliks is still running the show from behind bars, and he has a task for Finlay: find and identify a contract killer before the cops do. The problem is, the killer might be an officer themself. Luckily, hot cop Nick has just been tasked with starting up a citizen's police academy, and combined pressure from Finlay's looming book deadline and Feliks is enough to convince Finlay and Vero to get involved. They use their time in police academy to sleuth out the real contract killer to free themselves from the mob's clutches―all the while dodging spies, confronting Vero's past, and juggling the daily trials of parenthood.

Third time’s the charm they say and this was no exception. Finlay 👏🏼 Donovan 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 back 👏🏼

From the hilarious opening scene to the (yet another) cliffhanger ending, I was happily engaged the entire time. The duo of Finlay and Vero is comedy gold. Their friendship is what keeps these books going.

The search to find out who EasyClean is comes with some twists and turns that you don’t alway see coming. I love how over the top some of the plot points are because it just adds to the humour of the story. In her usual fashion, Elle Cosimano still leaves a lot of questions unanswered (Steven?!?!?!) and writes an ending that keeps you dying to read the next one.

Another epically hilarious Finn and Vero adventure. In this edition, they get themselves into a precarious situation while somehow thinking that attending a "citizen's police academy", surrounded by the very people they are both trying to catch and trying to avoid, will somehow end up in their favor. The chemistry between the two women, who are in very different places in their life, is flawless. I love how much they both need and can rely on each other. Both Finlay and Veronica are the anti heroes that all millennial women need in their lives. They are flawed. They are barely hanging on to what little control they have in their lives, yet they still love and care for those kids. They are two of the most relatable characters I have read in my adult life, despite the tendency they have to bury bodies.

A plus plus once again.

Another great installment in the Finlay Donovan series! I think this might be my favorite so far. I really enjoyed the citizens police academy setting. And I always love Finlay and Vero's hijinks. There's just something so fun about how meta this book is, and how she describes the book she's writing.

I highly recommend reading this one! Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins Press/Minotaur Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Yay our favorite accidental hit woman, Finlay, is back! What chaos will she and her bestie Vero encounter this time? We have a new setting, a few new characters to love, and a mystery to solve.

Well, what kind of insane and illegal antics can they get into at a citizen’s Police Academy class? A lot. Once again we are taken on an over the top but funny journey with our girl Finlay, her bestie and anyone else who gets trapped along the way.

What I enjoyed:

- First off, I just have to admit this has been one of my most anticipated reads for 2023. After the last book, I NEEDED this one. I am so happy to have read it! I seriously enjoyed, and loved it like the previous ones. I will never grow tired it Finlay’s crazed life.
- the friendship between Finlay and Vero! I care more about that versus Finlay’s love life. Those two are friendship goals.
- the humor like always had me laughing out loud while reading. My poor fiancé thought I was a crazed lunatic laughing to herself. 😝
- I pretty much just loved it all. Even the over the top antics.

This book is just what I needed after a few dark reads. I love the series and will forever pre-order any of the author’s books. (This one has been pre-ordered since it was available) I now have my *fingers crossed* that a fourth one is happening. That ending has me craving more. Loved it! 4 stars out or 5. Thank you Netgalley and Minotaur Books for the ARC in an exchange for an honest review!

I loved the first two in the Finlay Donovan series but this one just didn’t do it for me. It was too mob based and complex. I enjoyed the humour and accidental killings in the first one but I feel the series is being prolonged more than it should be at this point

I want to thank @netgalley and @minotaur_books for my ARC of the new Finlay Donovan book. If you liked the other two, you will enjoy this one as well. They are fun, entertaining reads. Elle Cosimato nails parenting toddlers. I laughed at the antics of Finlay’s son because it was so relatable.

Once again she knocks it out of the park. These keep getting better. It is laugh-out, action-packed with a little bit of romance thrown in. I highly recommend this book if you want a fun light read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for giving me a digital copy for my honest opinion.

This third installment of the Finlay Donovan series started off a little slow to me. But Finlay and Vero always win me over with their antics.

This book follows the two through a mock police academy for civilians while they are trying to find the identity of Easy Clean.

Jumps The Gun has more tension between Finlay and Nick. Stephen is being a controlling jerk per usual. And as it gets going the mystery of Easy Clean and Finlay’s love life push the story forward.

While it is not my favorite book of the series it was still enjoyable and those cliffhangers definitely left me ready for book 4.

i am an avid fan of "filler books" in series' - i think they are CRUCIAL. you need smaller plot threads cleared up, character relationship building, and relationships ending - that's how you create a memorable series, in my opinion. "filler books" aren't common anymore and they SHOULD BE!!!! they're so important!!!

i wish that nick would learn everything about finn and then turn his back on the law for her. that would be the ideal next step, for me personally.

thank you st. martin's press and elle cosimano for an arc!!

Finlay and Vero are back with their wild shenanigans and it is another fun and wacky ride!

I fell in love with this series when I read the first two books earlier this year and I pterodactyl screeched when I got approved for this ARC!

Finlay and Vero are still on the hunt for the true identity of EasyClean and are participating in a sort of adult day camp police academy. They go through several training simulations while Steven (Findlay’s ex husband) is most definitely up to something strange and suspicious wherever he is. More nefarious activities start taking place where they’re staying and more and more people are starting to look suspicious. Findlay’s latest revision of her next novel has also been rejected by her publisher and she’s stressed.

Book two is still my favorite so far but after reading this I look forward to reading more bizarre adventures of Finlay Donovan and Vero!

I love this series! Does it get a little unbelievable at some parts? Sure! But am I willing to suspend my belief to tag along in Finlay and Vero’s journeys? Absolutely! As a mom of small children, the opening scene of this book had me laughing and definitely empathetic to Finlay’s parenting adventure!

This time around, Finlay and Vero find themselves at a citizen’s police academy trying to hunt out EasyClean. Many of the same cast is back, including the unlikeable ex husband, the potential love interest cop that Finlay has been avoiding, and even a guest appearance from a former love interest! Finlay and Vero find themselves in all sorts of jams - overhearing conversations they shouldn’t, impersonating cops, and doing whatever they can to not implicate themselves in past crimes. A fun, light hearted mystery similar to the previous two book.

This should not be a standalone book — go read the first two NOW! The ending is another cliffhanger, leaving me not wanting to have to wait for book #4! Ugh! Need it now!

Mixing Finlay Donovan with police academy? Yeah it's a recipe for hilarity. Often times in a series, by the 3rd book you've begun to slow down. But with Finlay? The brakes are cut and we've got the green light. This book is laugh out loud ridiculous in the best way.

What makes this book even better is that we get to dig into Vero's past and deepen the relationship between Finlay and Nick (like FINALLY). And that the mystery is really open-ended. It honestly kept me guessing throughout and I flip-flopped on my EasyClean guess multiple times. I would probably be happy reading Finlay Donovan books for the rest of my life.

Now that I’ve finished the third book in the Finlay Donovan series, I don’t know if I should scream with sheer joy to have been so incredibly lucky to have discovered these books, cry a river of tears because I’ve finished the last one, or just grovel at Elle Cosimano’s feet begging her to write another one!

These books are hysterically witty, incredibly imaginative and so much fun. I believe there’s enough low hanging fruit for a fourth book. Please! These books are my guilty pleasure and I need more.

I give this book five well-deserved stars. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the advanced copy. This is my honest review.

Finlay is back! Just when she has completely sworn off men, Finlay and Vero get wrangled into attending a week-long citizen police training camp led by none other than sexy detective Nick. The resulting story is completely ridiculous, as expected, and so much fun. Get ready for a stolen police cruiser, an uncontrolled fire, a huge bag of money, a mob boss, a loan shark, a crooked cop, and a mutilated CPR mannequin. And of course it wouldn’t be a Finlay Donovan book without some sort of accidental death. The action never stops, and the ending sets us up for another Finlay installment, which I will most definitely be reading.

One thing I often do not enjoy about sequels or books in a series is the tedious rehashing of characters and storylines that came before. This book, however, has little to no recap from previous stories, which I appreciate as a continuing reader but may make it difficult for newcomers to the series to understand what is happening. I loved the over-the-top antics and the friendship between Finlay and Vero. This story, just like the rest of the series, is pure light-hearted entertainment.
